As we are on the subject of insurance on track days, a few years ago I thought it was not necessary as driving standards on the track was very good.
But things are different these days as you will find 40% of the drivers are complete idiots and hence insurance is a good idea.
I did track day on 21 August at Castle Combes and the driving standard was appalling to say the least. As most of the marshals were OAP's and they dozed at their posts, and it was only when I threatened to sue Track Days for putting my life in danger that 2 cars were black flagged and banned for the rest of the day.
What is more amazing is that these idiots are not the Nova boys as used to be the case but people driving Nissan GTR,Ferraris and Caterhams.
