Sounds like cable to me have you tried reving it from the throttle body ?

I agree with everyone else DO NOT LET THEM TAKE THE CAR that easily fixable ,you can bet someone at the insurance storage yard will buy it for peanuts

I don’t think 10k is too much ,5k on a turbo kit and for 15k you got yourself a quick car .

if your ECU is givng you a problem take it to a computer repair specialist let them have a look ,i did this and now mine is working perfect and only cost me 20 pounds

ive never had this plugged in because it was tucked behind the loom so unwrapped it today andplugged it in ,im assuming its a level indicator ???

i had something similar with the revs and cuttingout it was the earth on the igniter and coil .

i had 14 it was the grounding on the coil and igniter,cleaned it up problem gone.

yeah last year couldnt get overdrive and he replaced a capacictor[it burst] started playing up again last week so he replaced the cap and i asked him to give it a thorough look over .

sent my ecu to my local PC repair man had the board checked for continuity ,he replaced a capacitor and he fixed a few dry joints ,put it back in and everything works perfectly.for the princely sum of £20 i did ask him if he wouldnt mind if i put his phone number on the club he said no problem so hes based in llanelli south wales. phone is 07962804961 you can google him on PCS PWLL computer services.

Mines gone again pulled the ecu and I think the capictor that was replaced has failed internally ,going to get it redone next week . Problem is No 4th gear .
