  1. Lose half the value in 2 months, bloodly hell, it isnt a Rover you know! Tell you what, cos it is you and you are a nice chap, I'll go £300 inc del.
  2. The congestion charge was dropped for the day of the bombings, so as to let people get home, and IIRC it was not re-introduced until the next week. I drive fire engines, and the speed camera thing is not true (in London at least) it was a bit thing when they first came out but under the Road Traffic Act emergancy vehicles are exemt from certain bits, like speed limits IF in the course of their duties they get in the way. So when we go through a camera there is usually a engine load of firemen shouting abuse at the camera when it flashes. Saying that, they did prosicute one driver, in the photo it showed 4 arses hanging out of the windows and the drivers hands giving a 'salute', they did him for driving without due care as well has he didnt have his hands on the wheel. But if we go through a camera when not responding to a call, and on blues and twos then we are like anyone else, and can get done. Same with bus lane camera's, box junction camera's etc.
  3. Price drop...... £300 plus P+P.
  4. I have been riding for over 15 years. I'm a DAS and CBT instructor, or was. 12 years accident free, the in 6 months I had a low side off on deisel and a few months later some cnut with no licence did a U turn in front of me. Wrote the bike off and I was in hospital for a couple of days, luckaily not badly injured. I also had a high side off on Snetterton circuit, but that was my own fault for using Dragon Corsa tyres with no side tread on a damp day, V twins push out alot of tourqe low down when I was still banked over and ...... Ahhh Bugger! Ouch! While I was in the hospital, one of my mates who I used to go biking with at work had a head on accident with a car who was on the wrong side of the road and died. As I was looking for a new bike to get after the insurance paid out another very old friend of mine who was an awesome rider and who I used to go on blats with hit a hay lorry on the Crooked Mile by Harlow on the way home from work and died. I decided to mainly ride on tracks, and went with a group of mates to the Ring, one of the lads, 18 years in the Army, got hit by a BMW and died. I went skiing and dislocated my knee, and have used this as a convienent excuse to sell the bike, but when I can I will get another one, and use it on tracks - but not the Ring! IF you decide to ride, make sure that you spend as much as you can on your helmet, and get either Arai or Showi. Dont bother with anything else cos in an accident where you hit your head those 2 makes offer the best protection. Get a full set of leathers and NEVER ride without them on, even for a quick trip to the shop, or on a red hot day. Get a full length back protector, Knox are about the best. When you can, go on a track school day like the California Superbike school, as they will teach you more about cornering and handleing that you will learn on the week long bike course, as all they have time to teach on the course is how to pass a test, not how to stay alive and ride well. Also try to get some advanced instruction, like the IAD. I am a fireman, and I turn up at accidents where the little scooter riding chav's has been knocked off at 30mph or less. It sometimes can take upto an hour to scrape all the skin and body parts off the road, and then we have to hose it down afterwards. If you ride - get the correct kit and use it always!
  5. I'm sooo Roooonnnnry! Soooo RRooonnnnnnnrrryyyyyyyy! But dont worry, FAG is here to save you! So WHAT have you done for us then FAG!?!?!? Matt Damon!! (Iccccccce Crrraaaaaammmmmm!) and the best.... Bad Inteligence! Damn, I gotta watch it again!
  6. For sale, 1 x XBox 360. This is the one with the internal hard drive, it comes with 2 x wireless controllers, 3 x games (NFS - Most Wanted, Ghost Recon 3, and one other, I cant remember the name). All the other gubbins and gizmos, like head set, and LAN cable to connect to the internet or your pc. It is only 2 months old and cost £450, so happy to take... £350 + P&P.
  7. Well my reasoning behind getting them are I want to end up with a set of HKS cams as well, but with my financies I have to buy a bit and then wait for the next lot. So what your saying is if I dont want to go Bling then leave well alone, but what if I get the HKS cams? Will I need the adjustable ones or not?
  8. Been serching through EGay and cos of the plight of the US dollar (well c'mon, it has fek all to do the the 'masterly' way Uncle Tone and old Gordon have handled the economy of recent has it?) there are a few prices that look very nice. So which are better? HKS Adjustable Cam Gears, GReddy Adjustable Cam Gears or AEM Adjustable Cam Gears? They are all working out at around £70 each, so which is the best, and can any traders over here beat that?
  9. Its the V8, so looking at about 0-60 in 6 sexonds, and topping out around 160+. Lots of low down torqe, much more than on a turbo'ed car and the sheer refinment of the car as well. Like nothing you will ever of have experienced before. Try asking on http://www.toyotaimportsforum.co.uk and there are lots of V8 owners there who will tell you all about them. Mine is a TT with a single turbo conversion.
  10. My first bike was a Kawasaki 750, a real dog and there for only £250, but that was in the late 80's. Now (2 years ago before my skiing accident at age 33) Aprilia RSVR Mille £500 fully comp. With AXA. To all my mates who are getting bikes now I say this. 1. Dont get a brand new bike. 9 times out of 10 you do silly stuff in the first 6 months like not putting the stand down properly and dropping it, like dropping it on a slow speed U turn etc. Just normal Whoopsi stuff. 2. Dont get over 600cc unless money is no object. The insurance will rape you! 3. Dont get a balls out sports bike like a Gixer 6 or R6, reason - as above! 4. Get a more balenced bike like a CBR 6, which can easily keep up with the balls out sports bikes in all but the most experianced hands, the insurance is cheaper and so are parts! Like cluch and front brake leavers for when you have a whoppsie! 5. If your budget for a helmet is £100 dont bother getting a bike, you need to get a GOOD one, at least £250! The best makes are Arai and Showi. Others are good, but I have seen LOTS of accidents where the rider is dead (I'm a fireman) because he got an expensive bike and a cheapo helmet. And accidents where the only reason why the rider is alive and 100 well is the fact they had an Arai on. (Including some of my own!) 6. Get a back protector and leathers. DO NOT ride in jeans or any other clothes, as they use pig skin for skin transplants and that hurts! 7. As soon as you can do some track days like the Ron Haslam Super Bike School, or the California Super Bike School. They will teach you how to corner and handle the bike correctly, rather than you learning through trial and error on the roads, cos it is painful. 8. Dont expect to be taught how to ride in the riding lessons, they are teaching you how to pass a test and stay alive for a bit. They dont have time to teach you apexing bends, disapering horizens and blind revers camber turns. (I am also a bike instructor and advanced instructor) 9. When the red mist comes down, pull over and have a rest, your not Rossi! 10. Remember, Bikes are not the only thing that can be recalled by its maker!
  11. And the 3 pod A pillar holder 52mm? And cost???
  12. That seems to be a normal ploy. I was tugged for driving my Triumph bike on the North Circ at 0730 on a Sunday morning by 2 traffic cops who insisted I was doing 85mph, they said they had video etc and were pushing me to make it easier on myself by admitting it. Thing was I knew I wasnt going that slow, the road was clear and empty and I was pushing it so I stuck to my guns and eventually they gave up. I really feel for you Rob, and as said in another forum I hope this cloud returns with a big silver lining for you and your missus. As a matter of course I always ask to see the 'video' evidence if told there is some as 90% of the time they only turn the camera on after the event and are trying to get you to admit.
  13. Ask Gamer, funny that seeing his name.....
  14. Joe, very nice, and utterly utterly utterly utterly utterly jealous!
  15. Hi, a series of questions that I dont know, but have had old wife's tales about so I thought I would ask here. If the cats are removed, is 97ron LRP ok to use or not? As it has the lead replacment in it should it run colder than normal unleaded? What are the issues and dangers for using LRP? It is about 4-5p a liter cheaper than Optimax, and was just wondering if it was ok to use as someone with a 1JZGTE on another site said he had and it was fine.
  16. I have always said people should have to pass their bike test before they are allowed to pass the car test. Then you would get better drivers on the road who have been taught to LOOK! The worst feeling is when you stop and you hear the skreech of tyres coming from behind you, then looking into the mirror and seeing the look of sheer panic on the face of the cnut about to rear end you. Luckily enough the traffic in front of me moved enough to enable me to pull quickly to the side and the chopper hit the car I was behind.
  17. Hey, as long as it gets here...... Not that I can do much with it, still in a leg cast till the 30th!
