  1. Yep: I picked up a set of Volk 17" wheels from near to Brands Hatch, swapped them over for my stock 17"s and drove back from Kent to Bath. One in the boot (still had space saver in it's place); 2 wedged into the back, and one on the front passenger seat. It was cramped, as had to put seat right forward (but luckily I'm short, so not too bad) and it was difficult using the handbrake & gears, but as I'm an Auto, that was fine. Took a bit of trying, and would have been buggered if they didn't fit! Not sure what police would say though... J
  2. Also just down M4, so happy to be involved in meets; convoys to other meets etc. Went to Bournemouth (new forest) meet last weekend - good excuse for a couple of hours blasting down fast A roads! J
  3. Stew, (Hope my quick look for cats proves to be right. Might be worth getting second opinion before spending £, although if it's a new import, it would need these for SVA) UK and Jspec need different decat pipes due to O2 sensor. You can get 21/2" or 3" pipes. Envy/Paul E/Chris Wilson (and others) all do these. Best to get 2 pipes rather than one, as you'll need to put at least one cat back in for MOT. 2nd one is easier to swap in/out as it's under the car rather than butted up to turbos. Bigger diameter = less restriction, but don't think it makes any difference on stock turbos. The restrictor ring just reduces the internal diameter, increasing the back pressure to restrict the turbos rpm (and hence the boost generated). Cost about £20. Just tell whoever, what boost you want to run. It may need a bit of adjusting as each car is different. Mine needs to be filed out a bit as I'm only getting 1.05 bar, but at least I know I'm not overboosting. J
  4. Hi Stew, I had the Green Soop on Sunday in New Forest - good to meet other owners. Well done for getting to a meet within 24 hours of owning the car, must be a record!! Your car had a few mods under the bonnet, but I think it still has both CATS in and probably stock turbos (at least not a big single which would be obvious to spot). I'd get both the Cats removed (or first one only, as it's most restrictive) and switch boost controller off to see what your base boost is. With Cats should be 0.8 Bar (80 kpa I think), without it will probably be a fair bit over 1.0 Bar. Don't go over 1.2 Bar with stock turbos. You'll see that a lot of people have restrictor rings fitted with a full decat, which are designed to keep the boost within safe limits on a Jspec without needing the boost controller. You also have a SARD R2D2 bov fitted and a (HKS?) FMIC (front mounted intercooler) I agree with Nic's comment on raising the warning to 1.25 bar and reducing the EVC to only allow boost to hit 1.2 if you keep the cats in (but you need to watch EGTs) J
  5. Hi Mate, (I'm assuming this is to me). I DID go to Bath Uni a fair few years ago now, and decided to stay on in Bath. I have to work for a living now, but in the immortal words of Ian C: "I love my job. It pays for my Supra." My Supra is metallic green if you see me around Bath. You in Bath often? J
  6. Justin: I understand now. Haydn: OK, cheers for that. Didn't think it was too much to worry about J
  7. Is that on stock tubbies? I think standard practice is to block it off. Some people have found that walking stick ends from fit nicely.
  8. Hi Mate & welcome - where in Somerset? I'm in Bath and asked the same question a while ago, but there doesn't seem to be any Supra 'specialists' near by. Chris Wilson may be the nearest (Shropshire). I've gone to Bath Performance Cars a few times. Gary there is very helpful and is OK with being given a list of what you want doing (I've even supplied parts to be fitted) I've seen Beemers, Porsches etc there and one of the guys who works there has a heavily modded Calibra Turbo, where they've done all the engine internals work, nitrous etc and reckon its 450bhp or something. Could be worth a go - hope this helps. J
  9. Cheers to all who went to the New Forest today. First meet I've been to, and I'll certainly look out for others. J
  10. 1. G9RGE 2. Tigger 3. Mawby 4. WSB2 + Steve W2 5. The Restorer 6. Simon B 7. Elliot (pencilled in!) 8. Timwildman 9. Suprachargedtt? 10. Jaymdee Hi, hope I'm not too late to sign up for this. Not been to any meets ( have missed a few in Bristol) but will drive down from bath. Will aim for 1pm. Intersested to see other people's cars, mods etc to get ideas and suggestions J
  11. Seen approx 12:45 today between Bracknell & Sandhurst (I think). Looked nice shiney motor! J
  12. cheers for reply. I never seem to spot anyone on here, and only been spotted twice, although once was when car was at Envy. Another one today, so I'll post that and see if there's a taker J
  13. Stuck in traffic on Coldharbour Lane by UWE J
  14. travelling towards bath. I got as far as nodding, but was watching speedo by the speed camera as you went by. nice looking car mate. J
  15. think it was K-Reg, Spotted at Patchway roundabout at 14:50 today (Wednesday). Anyone on here owning up...? J
  16. pic attached (best I've got with me), with some rather lovely Blitz Gauges, courtesy of ENVY Cheers all
  17. Spotted...or rather heard first off... at keynsham/Brislington roundabout near Bristol, Sat at 13:00. Any takers? May have had non-stock tail lights? J
  18. Sorry Steve, but I can't and not sure if anyone else will be able to. Thanks for offer to work this out, but I'll try your suggestion of removing it and see what I get. J
  19. Yeah, tried it the weekend. I think you really need to give the ECU a week to 'learn' the new configuration, and I only drove it for 50 miles on one day. Personally I found it too noisy (even with baffle in) and rough sounding. It was very sluggish (compared to normal) at low revs, with boost starting at about 3000 rpm, with sudden surge at 4000 ( very big shove in the back). I bought the Supra for it's seq twin system, as my Integrale suffers turbo lag (single Garrett T03, at 1.4 bar), and I wanted a car that pulls from down low. I did the TTC to test the system for leaks/valves working etc and it was fine, as the air escaped when I took the pipe off the EGCV actuator Definately recommend you give it a go as some people seem to like it. Only takes 5 mins. Rather than removing hoses and using vacuum caps (what are these, and where do you buy them?) I simply used the redundant vac hose to connect both VSV nipples together. J:)
