  1. Aahh, the plot thickens.. I have seen a few around Bath & Bristol, post them up but never seem to be anyone on the site, except you and I think one other spot. I expect many people don't know about the site. Will have to start carrying some cards with me to put under windscreen wipers. J
  2. Hi Gough, I don't think it was you mate, Went straight up to Filton, not Sainsbury's. I'm sure it had an aftermarket nose-cone (I'm guessing Veilside). It's much better driving round Bristol (and ringroad) now the roads are drier J
  3. Spotted parked up by Victoria Park golf course 6ish Sunday. L reg I think, no time to look, I as was fighting my Integrale's increasing wish to pitch me off the road into the hedge at the time... J
  4. Excellent, yes well pleased. Definately as we seem to have some warm(er) weather coming, keep those temps down, and boost up!! J
  5. seen driving up past Hewlet Packard then on up to Filton roundabout. I was about 10 cars behind. Looked like you may have a Veilside nosecone?? Any takers J
  6. Yes Mate, I did. Have you got one with no home? Hope this can be mine!!! J
  7. Hi Mate, I believe you place it between the turbo (engine in your description above) and the actuator. You should have the hose going from the turbo into the MBC, then into the top of the actuator. You then block off the hose going from the bottom of the actuator to the VSV. (You need to make sure the MBC is the correct way around as well). only tighten it a bit at a time or you could seriously knacker your turbos. J
  8. Was on my way to pick up a strut brace off Ebay (actually, not sure if it was this or my soon to be arriving FMIC courtesy of Liam & Wayne ) Waiting to turn right by bus station, when silver supra M***XTC (possibly) turns left at the same junction, up past the police station - which I drive very slowly by trying to keep the revs at 1000rpm due to full decat and RSR. Incidently, my mate loved the exhaust roar when we screamed through a motorway bridge/tunnel in Bristol the other day at 6000 revs!! Any takers??? J
  9. Thanks to everyone for a great day. Look forward to the video Ray. I was extremely pleased to see that luckily I had the dirtiest car of the whole lot, courtesy of the M4 !! 09:00 - nice and clean and polished 10:20 - dirty grey & wet 12:00 - white salt marks all over Good to see some of the folks I met a few weeks ago, as well as other members. J
  10. No, the full lot. Camber Castor & Toe, all set to (nearly) Lance's settings. I did query the price twice as it seemed cheap, but was told it was full optical alignment (is this different to laser alignment?). Steering is definately heavier (more castor) and he explained that one of the rears was toeing out slightly and was corrected. Seems above board...but I guess I'll never know, but it seems a lot better. J
  11. I see what you're saying, but the wheels certainly feel a lot better (and have readings etc), boot rubbers have been replaced etc. But I have to accept that they've checked the subframe bolts. He did say they charged a nominal half hour for the boot rubbers and half hour for the check on the bolts, even though it took them longer. He said rear bolts were seized for the alignments, but as he'd quoted £34 (+vat) he stuck to it. J
  12. Probably been done before, but took my car into Platinum Toyota in Bath for Geometry alignment and was quite pleased. Had all the stuff set to what I asked (Lance settings) Rear hatch rubbers fitted Suspension bushes checked over (all ok) Suspension/mounting bolts checked (all ok) Grand total of £104 !! I was offered coffee, complemented on the car, including RSR exhaust, was not charged for extra time due to seized bolts, and when I asked to have the underside pressure washed to remove salt, was told that it had also been done and the car washed and waxed, ready for collection. In all, extremely impressed with level of service. What are other people's experience of the main dealers? J
  13. Near to Sainsbury's. If you go out through the Green Park entrance by the Green Park Brasserie and turn left, they're on that road. I think it's James St West. 50 yards down on the right. (tried to insert a map, but not sure if it's worked?) J
  14. Hi mate. When I asked this (I'm in Bath) I was pointed to the people that Bristol Import Centre use to set all their cars up/SVA/service etc. Not sure who it is myself, but I'm sure you could ask them for a number. I spoke to the guy there who said that Toyota in Bath were pretty good. I've used them and they seemed OK. I've also used Bath Performance Centre, who don't see any other Supes, but seem to know about perforrmance cars (seen M3s, porsches, 200SXs there) Hope some of this may help J
  15. cheers mate. Can you explain what you mean by "the same cams"? I'm certain that I'm looking for more castor to make the steering feel a bit heavier and return to centre, but don't want to be fobbed off by garages saying that it can't be done (maybe it's a bit trickier than toe/camber?) cheers
  16. Cheers for the reply & move, I totally agree. That is why I'd like to take the car somewhere and have the camber, toe & castor all checked and adjusted (probably to the Lance settings). But my local place said that castor can't be done. Either they're right, so I may as well go there, or they're wrong & I'll still need to get the castor done - so I may as well find somewhere who can do all of it. Anyone had castor done at Mitcheldever (sp?). (That's ok for me to drive to). I also want the bushes and bolts checked, preferably by someone who's seen a supra before. J
  17. OOPS, posted in wront technical section J
  18. Over the last week or so, the steering on my car seems to have gone light and vague. I've also noticed that the front is creaking over speed bumps, so I need to get the sub-frame bolts checked. Have done a search on here, and reckon that the castor needs to be increased, as I prefer to have the steering a bit heavier. But, I just phoned Protyre in Bristol to see what they can adjust, and was told that you cannot adjust castor. Is this correct? I know they can do camber & toe (as I've taken the car there before), but I really wasnt the castor checked Anyone shed any light? cheers J
  19. Yep Winchester at 10:30, onto Fleet for 11:00-11:15, then Camberley? This will be a feat of meeting co-ordination if it all works out J
  20. Hi Rayman, I'm meeting up the Winchester services with few others at about 11am. Hopefully arrange to meet Gasto & Sue (and others) at Fleet Services about 11:15 (is that enough time to get there from Winchester services?). I agree that we should aim to pick up as many as possible enroute to Boxhill. (may have to leave earlier now...) Any suggestions where we should tie up with you around Camberley way? Gatso: Are you going to post a South West Convoy thread as per previous post? I'm not too sure about services/junctions and how far/time to drive between possible meeting points. J
  21. Sounds good. Have been making arrangements with Stew123 regarding meeting at Northbound services on M3 by Winchester. Could always pull in at Fleet services as well enroute - the more the merrier. Time sound about right J
  22. Rob, Am arranging to meet another member near Winchester. Suggest we form a plan to meet at services on M3, travel up and see who else is coming in that way Jon
  23. Hi, I'm thinking of going to this, but not sure about meeting up etc. Where you based? I know there are some others from Wilstshire/South West on here. Maybe a convoy (or meet up with Bournmouth lot enroute?) J
  24. Seen last night parked by pub in Radstock near Bath. No rear spoiler J
