  1. Have I missed why you don't want 2 cars? If you've got 20K to spend get a really nice Supra for £8-10K then spend 6 or 7 thousand on a nice old estate. I fully recommend the Honda Accord and if you get the 2.4 you can still have a little bit of fun with the family onboard but keep the real fun for when you're on your own.
  2. Does the OP happen to have adjustable suspension? Are the adjusters wound towards one another rather than both the same direction? That's how I managed to spin mine up onto a roundabout! (I was doing more like 30mph than 15 though).
  3. I love the idea behind the GT86, it doesn't have to be the fastest around 'the ring' but it DOES have to be a good drivers car, so that concept in a more powerful and sporty supercar is ideal.
  4. Will have to drop into Shell and check, I'm on VPD so will have to hope VPN+D isn't ridiculous price.
  5. New Top Gear series starts the end of Jan. But for now, GT86 on the website: http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/toyota-gt-86-tetsuya-tada-yoshinori-sasaki-2012-08-24 Particularly see 11 of 14.

    Multiple accounts?
  7. MKIV was £40k in 1993, Ferrari 348 was about £70k. So now Ferrari 458 is £170k you'd imagine a Supra of similar power to be around £100k.
  8. Wish I had a petrol car, you'd have to pay me a lot more than that to use Tesco diesel.
  9. It was a general question, because I believe the MOT says the dipped beam has to stay on when you flash the main beam - at least if you have HIDs it does. My dipped beam on the Honda flashes with the main beam (if it was off before) and I couldn't remember if the Supra did the same, obviously it's not supposed to from the replies so thought I'd ask if the dipped stays on when you flash mains (if it was on before).
  10. Slight hijack; does the low beam STAY on if you flash the main beam (at night for example)?
  11. I was going to get some 3000K fogs and 5000K mains to go with my 5000K dipped, but was put off by the boot up time, I rarely hold the flash on for more than 1/10 second when flashing people (ooh-err missus), really just a tiny little flick of the stick (ooh-err missus). My dipped's come on when I flash someone so I know they don't come up in time.
  12. Main beam doesn't have a beam pattern test so It's fine. Shouldn't have HIDs as main beam though cos they take a few seconds to boot up. Not sure how new cars use the bi-xenons though?
  13. MOT, not NCT, different rules. Mine passed the MOT last week with HIDs, but according to the manual it wouldn't pass an NCT.
  14. They may have changed as most MOT type rules changed this year. Was it covered for the Irish test though, or just the MOT? For the MOT you can have HIDs and don't need any washers or auto-levelling, if you have washers they now have to work. For the Irish NCT test it states as one of the reasons for failure (so called RfRs on the MOT over here) that for HIDs: "Mandatory headlamp cleaning device not present.". So unless the testers don't read the manual, or don't care, or for some other reason don't fail the car for it then it is a failure to not have a washer system fitted.
  15. Well I haven't looked up the NCT inspection manual or anything but from Jellys post it looks like that's the rule.
  16. UK MOT it's not a failure or an advisory to have HIDs with no washers or levelling, but looks like the Ireland test is a fail to not have washers on the car.
  17. I'm with Alex, what are you guys thinking DBW and FBW stand for?
  18. TVR sold that colour, as did MG, hardly chav car brands.

  20. I like the colour, dunno what all your problems are. Wheels are gash as I said, and shame about the bodykit and doors, but meh, not a write off at all.
  21. Change the wheels and it's OK, shame about the bodykit and doors but other than that.
  22. Not so much out of kindness but because you're obliged to do something (repair or refund), but good on you for offering that rather late gesture. Two sides to every story, this is the side we hadn't heard. Trouble is you're in a trade where you have to take stuff like that from customers and STILL give them what they're due. You could be a PITA and suggest repair if they drop the car off to you with no courtesy car etc, but you have to do something, and if you're trying to be a 'good' trader then what you suggest seems the best option.
  23. I think Paul needs to chill. Pick a post with a question in, quote it, answer it then move on. Ignore all the waffle posted in between until he's done then go back round again. It's going to take a while I reckon to sort all this out one way or another, but we're a pretty powerful group who can affect sales so it will be worth dealing with it properly.
  24. Right well now I'm completely confused. Where's Paul when you need him! Next questions are Why do you have 2 premises? Are they both yours? So does anyone know the location that Bargain Cars used to have? Someone said they were just down the road, like in the same estate?
  25. This one: Is here: which looks to me like here: http://binged.it/SxpXWy If you pan around it you can see the steps and the ramp which come out from the shutter door. So you went to the other place first and he then walked you across to the 'dedicated Supra showroom'?
