  1. If you read my original post you'll see that I said "communicate properly". I appreciate that there are times when we all swear and that there may be times when there's a valid communication context for it, but there's clearly no need to swear just for the sake of it or, in my view, to insult someone. There's plenty of other less offensive, more subtle and perhaps more witty ways of insulting someone than simpy telling them to **** off. Lack of courtesy pure and simple, in my view. If you can't hold a conversation on a BBS without typing in swear words then it shows, again in my view, that the person is not really concerned how they make their point That in turn is disrespectful to the people who take the time and trouble to post in a considered manner.
  2. Good, that's the obvious post out of the way nice and quickly.
  3. I am no prude by any stretch of the imagination but the level of unecessary profanity on this board seems to be increasing. To my mind there's absolutely no need to be throwing, for example, the "F" and "C" words around with such abandon. It displays a lack of ability to communicate properly and disrespects those people on the board who manage to post and comment without resorting to the four letter dictionary. Furthermore, it hardly presents the best image to those new to the site and is utterly inappropriate for young children and minors. Whilst I appreciate the latter are not necessarily the target audience, there are, I imagine, children who do read the board. If people really do not have the self control to stop typing swear words just for the sake of it, as it seems to me, then perhaps the only option is to impose a swear filter? Discuss.
  4. Thanks for that. Having looked at your spreadsheet thread again, I note there are some other trim codes out there that are lacking formal identification as well.
  5. Shouldn't be a problem with having the paint made up as it's a standard Toyota colour. Coincidentally, mine goes in for a front end re-spray next week (bonnet, bumper and both wings) - quoted somewhere between £400-£500 all in. Perhaps we need to start a brown Supra picture appreciation thread in the Multimedia forum as there's quite a few MSB owners on here.
  6. After downloading Digsy's rather neat VIN decoder spreadsheet, I put in my trim code, "LE20", only to find it wasn't recognised. Similarly, there's no mention of this trim code on mkiv.supras.org.nz either. A search on here revealed this thread in which Aerotop Dave also has the same trim code as I do. Does anyone else have this trim code? Or is it perhaps specific to TT Aerotops? Does the "LE" part perhaps indicate a full leather interior from the factory bearing in mind the distinction made with "FL" for front leather seats?
  7. It'll be 1A1 as well. Seems to get called lots of different names - anthracite, bronze, MSB etc but when it comes down to it we're all owners of brown cars! I wouldn't have any other colour now, though. It's simply stunning when the sun hits it.
  8. From a technical and logistical standpoint it was still a very interesting post.
  9. What if you have a username beginning with a numeral or a symbol?
  10. Wonder whether is was the pillocks here?
  11. http://www.gtp.com.au/jshop/largeimages/APX-99-002.jpg Best guess is that the FManage is that big black box on the right hand side of the picture. http://www.jshop.com.au/index.php?page=showProduct&owner=jshop&id=APX-99-002
  12. Very nice. Can we expect a name change to EssexJawa now? (Think about it)
  13. Bah! (I posted the picture first, though )
  14. What's the definition of Japanese here? Vehicles produced by Japanese manufacturers irrespective of the market they were sold in, or vehicles that were only sold in Japan originally?
  15. Roof off and no air con (it needs a re-gas), but I wouldn't have it on anyway. I use the standard Toyota tool for roof removal/fitting and although I can manage the former OK, I don't think I've got the roof back on properly in under 10 minutes so far!
  16. Matt, Take care with this aspect of the business as the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 now expressly prohibits a business or commercial operation carrying out works to motor vehicles on a road. http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2005/50016--c.htm#4
  17. Make sure your 'garage' has the appropriate planning permission first before doing any work from it.
  18. Justin, All the details are on the link Scooter has posted above.
  19. Nic is your man for this: http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=40656
  20. I wonder whether that was done to avoid a panic, Neil? If you say there's been a power surge, people are less likely to panic and thus are easier to evacuate/move. Mention a bomb and people will panic.
  21. Is there any way an individual user can change the "Sort by" default option from "most views" to "most recent" and keep it that way? Everytime I leave the Classifieds and go back in again it just resets back to sorting the threads in the most viewed order which I find rather irritating.
