It has been suggested to me that the TRD airbag steering wheel is not compatible with the early Supras (pre 96) with single airbag as they have a mechanical trigger mechanism whereas those cars with passenger and drivers airbags (post 96?) use an electronic trigger.
Now, I think I'm right in saying the UK cars have driver and passenger airbags as standard so would that mean they have this electronic trigger system? Similary, my 93 GZ has driver and passenger airbags, but I think the passenger bag was an option and not standard equipment, so does that mean I have a mechanical or electronic trigger system.
In essence, what I need to know is whether I can fit a TRD wheel to my car and retain its airbag functionality.
