  1. I too may be struggling. Obviously not due to car issues but due to my illness. I have been in severe pain for the last few weeks and I am not able to sleep at night and managing to only grab a few hours here and there during the day. I have met with the palliative care doctor and he is not convinced it is the cancer and is suggesting it is maybe arthritis and / or disk problems. He has asked the oncologist to organise a bone scan for me and I am going to meet with her tomorrow to discuss what can be done. As you can see ion another thread I started, I am looking at a new bed or mattress to see if that can help. Now, that obviously wont be of any use in Holland but if it works it will mean I can get some proper sleep before going. Both my son Joshua and I are gutted over this as we were desperate to recreate past memories and forge new ones.
  2. After looking at the site, I think I will go with a memory foam specialist this time.
  3. Do you know the make etc of the topper?
  4. The one I am looking at is this one. TBH, I am in such pain at night (and have been for about 2 weeks now) I am desperate to try anything to get some relief and sleep.
  5. Apologies for bumping an old thread but I am on the lookout for a new bed / mattress again as the severe night time pain has returned. We are not sure whether the pain is cancer related or not although the palliative care doctor seems of the opinion it is a sleep posture issue combined with an arthritis problem. I had bought a Jimmy Joke shop memory foam topper last year (not the one off Amazon but a cheaper one off ebay) and whilst it seemed to do the trick initially, it now has very little support properties at all and so I am on the look out again. Has anyone any experience of this company? I was also thinking of looking at an electric adjustable bed but thought I would try the mattress option first and then take it from there. Thanks for your anticipated help.
  6. I will give Macmillan a shout next week and see if they can offer advice. I hadn't thought of asking them about a loan system.
  7. It may be cheap but it's is probably not the best way to achieve a regular adjustment! In all seriousness, it needs to have the ability to adjust so that it has me sometimes sitting up more but also to raise my legs on occasion depending where the pain is emanating from.
  8. For the past few weeks the painkilling regime I have been on has stopped working and I find myself having less and less sleep every night - as in sleep for 2 hours then wake up in severe pain. Stay awake for 3 hours or so then sleep for 2. Initially I thought it was the cancer in my bone area in my hips but after talking to the palliative care Doctor he is not so sure as the pain location seems to move nightly. I sometimes get it in my hips, sometimes the lower back, sometimes upper back etc. He has recommended another bone scan to determine what is happening and has also suggested trying to sleep more upright but to do this would mean stacking up pillows and as I don't really fancy that a friend of mine suggested looking into the adjustable electric bed solution. I was thinking of one of these with a good quality (as opposed to the recent Jimmy joke shop version I bought off ebay version) memory foam mattress / topper. So, my question is, does anyone have any experience of using these? If so, any recommendations?
  9. Imi seems to have this under control and so i wont step on his toes
  10. Yes. I too had to drive a Corsa once and I am still having therapy.
  11. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I wanted to reinforce the advice regarding doing this yourself. I started a claim about 5 weeks ago and yesterday had a settlement offer which covered all the payments made + interest. I did this myself and so my outlay was £1 to get a copy of the original agreement and 2 x 1st class stamps to send off the claim form. By using Money Saving Expert I was able to print out template letters and a claim form and just followed their instructions. Easy peasy and I am a happy chappy.

I dont wish to be unkind here but ensure someone looks at your CV and letter before you send it off as your grammar may let you down slightly.
  13. Ebay is still your best bet. I would send offers before the auction ends as that is how I managed to get my 97 MR2 for silly cheap. I will have a look on IMOC and MR2OC for you too. I am assuming for £600 you want an NA?
  14. Nice gesture - well done that man.
  15. Have you put together a business plan, cashflow forecast and annual budget? I would certainly recommend these as an important method of keeping track of where you are and where you are aiming for. A decent bank will also want to see these.

    Insurance query

Thanks Ollie - I suspected as much. I have asked Josh to look at his policy and see what wording is applied there (if any) and to then speak to Admiral. This came up as I didn't want the Mister 2 to be left not running for the month I am out on Kos. Ah well, I am sure we can think of something.
  17. I am not sure what the latest bodies are called but do a search for Enterprise Initiatives within your area and also speak to the bank about local grants available as their business advisor (if he / she is any good) should be in the know. I will have a think on (with this current pain issue I am experiencing I have lots of "awake" time) and see what else I can think of.
  18. Good luck fella - and of it doesn't go according to plan just explain to them that you are only 17!
  19. You can still get fast track passports in time
  20. And now the fun begins. I always found that the planning and developing of a project was the most exciting and rewarding time of the whole adventure. Good luck and if I can be of any assistance (I have started several small businesses in the past) then let me know.
  21. Well done Jason Tony, am I allowed to post up a similar thread?
  22. If you had been around a bit longer you would have seen that Dean (as I) has bought good TT's at that price. It just needs patience and looking away from the forum.
  23. That looks a good buy. I think I may just pick one up tomorrow.
