If and when a vaccine is approved, manufactured and shipped, the first batch would cover circa 1B people. So who gets it first? Also, how long will it take before the subsequent batches are ready? Realistically, we're probably looking at late 2021 before the masses are vaccinated to a sufficient level in order to completely eradicate the virus from the population.

The UN is a joke. Always has been, always will. This. I would add that it would also be due to their unrelenting arrogance...

Let's hope it doesn't end up being palliative care...

Sadly, I do not consider these claims to be particularly meritorious considering the fundamental lack of evidence and the Chinese government's prompt action to suppress news and silence those who they felt needed to be silenced. Notwithstanding, even if these claims were successful, do you really think the Chinese government will just roll over and hand over the cash?

In uncertain times like these, one can only look at history for an indication of how things may play out. The last time anything remotely similar happened, was back in 1918 with the Spanish Flu. This was shortly followed by none other than the great depression. Whilst I acknowledge the other factors which played a hand in the economic crisis back then, I would argue that the economy is now much larger and much more 'connected' and 'integrated' than it was back then. Leaving it more susceptible to the domino effect. As they say, the bigger you are, the harder you fall.

The sun is yet to set on day 1 of this crisis. Very early days to be making such assertions about the likes of Aldi. I hope there is still a thing called Aldi as the sun rises on day 2 of this crisis.

What gives your "cash in the bank" any value? During times of uncertainty, tangible assets become far more valuable than "cash".

Put a decent driver behind the wheel of a TTRS, A45 or RS3 and they'll make the average Supra look silly around a track. But, as Style says, as grand tourers, that's not what these cars were actually built to do... if people modify them to do things they weren't originally designed to do well, then they're part of a very small group of cars that can look good doing things they weren't actually built to do. However, in fairly standard form, their grand touring pedigree tends to shine through.

Thank you for your kind words. All things considered, I volunteered to take and make calls on behalf of the NHS, rather than provide 'physical' assistance. Thus far, I am yet to make or receive a single call... I'm currently caring for my elderly parents who live some 20 miles away, so I certainly have my hands full at the moment. They are both vulnerable and immunocompromised so cannot venture out under any circumstances. Perhaps I can repay an iota of the care they gave me as a child. Unfortunately, several orders for PPE via Amazon and other online retailers have either mysteriously gone missing or subsequently cancelled by the supplier despite initially accepting the order and processing the transaction. This has, also, left me with only a handful of gloves that I am having to use sparingly and a great deal of concern about what I will do once they do eventually run out.

I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to voluntarily drink such a concoction. I'd rather take one or two tablets and be done with it.

No, on the "Responder" volunteer app. The circa 700k strong army of volunteers should have started to receive notifications via the app by now. Despite being vetted and approved, I haven't, and a few other volunteers I know of, also haven't.
