Well looking at the new 330D range, the engine has been upgraded to push out 369 lb-ft of torque, and has a 0-62mph at 6.5 and thats in standard form! I wouldnt be surprised if you could push 400 lb-ft of torque if it was chipped! and hit the 5 second region! Sadly, it is slightly out of my price range, and the new facelift 3 series do look rather fugly dont you think?

Judging by the responses already, I am surprised that I am not the only one considering the 330D! I will have to check out the 530D although I think it might be too big for what I need.

Just out of interest, why did you go for the 5 series instead of say the 3 series? I assume that the space was an important factor?

I've thought about that, unfortunately i've discovered that they only available for 2005 onwards... ie the new fugly facelift model and therefore you are also paying a premium

I am tempted to get an rx7 myself three things that concern me, is reliability, maintenance costs, and I think that the car is looking dated from the rear of the car, especially the rear window area.

Shame you're up in scotland, I would've snapped it up otherwise.

Just a thought, I dont think you've ever got around to sorting out your boost problems, to be honest i think you should ditch the sequential system and go single

you know, the reason why you were only getting 0.8 bar, is because they reconnected the vacuum hoses at the back of the second turbo the wrong way round, when you had the turbo replaced.

How tight is your throttle cable? Air leak? even a small air leak in the power steering vacuum hose could be enough to increase the revs.. I'd check your vacuum hoses around your inlet manifold.

I've always fancied owning an RX7, but doesnt anyone get put off that most of them are over 10 years old, this one nearly 15yrs old! with an on the road price of 13k then you have the usual maintenence and engine rebuild issue on top No disrespect to you Jurgen, you do find some nice cars!
