  1. Thats a revolving scam. Those engines and parts pictures crop up every other month for sale and then vanish, then a new user ID appears with them all again. Been discussed on a few forums/facebook pages over the last couple of yers, J.
  2. If it helps, You are more than welcome to come and see some options in the flesh, we run a few drift cars with various JZ engines and gearboxes. So we have first hand knowledge of whats the pro's and cons. I also have a couple of gearboxes you can see first hand to understand whats involved, if nothing else you can come and have a laugh and a coffee for half an hour, and we're only in Colchester, so not far. Oh and Im not interested in drumming up business for them, Im a customer at the workshop first and foremost and been involved with all sorts of aspects of the UK scene for many years. Just trying to help a lad out. J.
  3. Surely most members here only use Old Spice :D
  4. Think Ive got a spare Might have a slight leak
  5. That is actually a SPA cast manifold that FSR modify and then charge a fortune for !!! As you can see - this design has a slightly larger bore and "guides" the exhaust gases slightly with its ported shape - this also benefits from further porting and machining if you can be bothered. They are made from High Nickel cast iron and have been making turbo parts for years. J.
  6. I went with the SPA log manifold as I felt it was a much better design
  7. Ah haa !! Learn something new every day !! Ive only bought em and transferred them, never held them on retention. Cheers.
  8. Id love to know how you have held a 15 plate on retention for 10 years ??
  9. WOW !! Some seriously inflated prices going on there - is that due to import tax in Thailand ?? J.
  10. Yep, I was very lucky to get insured. i could see from your post you understood and had gone the same route as me !! J.
  11. Collins adapters do a kit with clutch options now There are a couple of other and possibly better options - Maverick Motorsports is one iirc Speetek do gear kits that are much stronger for 1400bhp builds lol - - - Updated - - - Collins adapters do a kit with clutch options now There are a couple of other and possibly better options - Maverick Motorsports is one iirc Speetek do gear kits that are much stronger for 1400bhp builds lol
  12. Well, The BMW box swap was big news a few years ago in drifting - which is my background - but they have also been going bang quite alot, including my own team mates builds. Personally I have already got a pair of CD009 gearboxes ready to go, one might get a Speedtek gearset upgrade for unbreakability, but ultimately I might habe just bought a Samsonas sequential so we'll see. Either way I dont thnk Im going to bother going the BMW route as they might be cheap to replace, but continued failure at events costs more than the box savings anyway, perhaps different on a road car. J.
  13. Worked for me !! lol Ive only EVER had Fireblades as my bikes on the road !! lol Got my first one 6 weeks before my test lol J.
  14. Pole Positions are great, But I always found them a bit numbing on journeys over 2hours in the cars Ive had with them fitted, although in fairness both those cars were probably a bit harsher and your average Supra lol J.
  15. I know several people with them. So far I think three have been lunched - two by the same car, although i know a fair few getrag M Boxes that have died, but fortunately we can get them rebuilt now !! Im not convinced of the BMW conversions as much now theres lots out there getting trashed !! lol
  16. Just get a 'blade Probably more forgiving in many respects as you'll be terrified of it to begin with and you dont need to keep it in quite such a narrow power band and potentially a twitch away from disaster so often - ie you can be a gear or two higher with less chance of spinning up or wheeling into trouble !! J.
  17. Try calling Mick at Essex Turbos, Yes, I know he isnt in your area No, I dont know if he'd do those for the general public But what he doesnt know about turbos isnt worth knowing !!! And he usually guarantees his rebuilds
  18. LOL Sorry bud, Im not trying to bang on about Snap-on just to be pedantic. But that roll cab you listed is TINY !!!! I just bought a 2year old, perfect condition Snap-on thats the same size (well, fractionally larger KRA2007) as that for £300 last month as a second box for our race van. Fair enough it comes with the second chest, but frankly they are of limited usefullness compared to a proper sized roll-cab that has a useable top as a mobile bench/workstation. Theres a reason why anyone in the trade has them, or slightly cheaper MAC copies and trainees with cheap boxes soon learn in a year or two why its worth investing in the real deal. Im just trying to save you hassle and money in the long run - a good cab will last 15year or you can usually trade em in every few years for very little loss if you buy them for the right price to begin with - my last one cost £3500 9 years ago (Cost originally £6000 off the van) and the guy who had it next sold it last year for £3000 !!! J.
  19. Reckon you'd get this for £750 ish https://www.gumtree.com/p/tool-storage-workbenches/snap-on-tool-box/1264149304
  20. How big is big ??? If you keep an eye out on Gumtree you can find good deals on second hand Snap on roll cabs, a nicely looked after 4year old Snap on will still be a better product than a brand new Halfords special. We've bought several for under £500 for use by trainees or in our Race van for track days. Depends on what size you think you'll need.
  21. Wow, Bignum is obviously brummie for Big****s lol Awesome work, sir !!
  22. It wasnt the developer, It was the last Government "help to buy" scheme around 8-10years ago, which is now no longer supported. .
