  1. The bonnet on the Supra loves to bulge at high speeds but I've never actually heard of the OEM catch failing. As long as it's maintained properly their shouldn't be any issues, even above the national speed limit
  2. Been a while since I've updated this thread! Here's some pictures of the custom 4" exhaust system: I ran it with the 4" straight pipe for a few days and it was way too loud, so I've fitted an exhaust back box with a 3" inlet using a 4"-3" reducer: I'm really happy with how it fits and sounds - ground clearance is compromised by the clamp near the downpipe but I'll swap this out for a normal t-bolt clamp asap. This is what it sounded like with the 4" straight pipe: https://vimeo.com/201007362 Anyway it sounds much nicer now and has a proper exhaust note rather than an obnoxious rumble I'll get some footage up of the new back box ASAP for those wondering what a 4" system to a 3" box sounds like. Also bought a new turbo oil drain and some heat protection products from DEI: I still have loads of little cosmetic things to sort out (such as rear reg plate, rear spats, a few minor scratches/dents, interior needs tidying as does the engine bay including the black bonnet insulation) not to mention lots of little mechanical things. But I'll get round to doing it all over winter, just in time for spring hopefully
  3. Haha, I'd never spend that kind of money on a laptop unless I was rich personally I'm not a fan of gaming laptops and prefer computers x1000, but then I have a very biased reason as to why (hint: never ever buy pre-built gaming laptops!)
  4. This is what you want https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GT80-2QE-Titan-SLI.html#hero-overview
  5. For a car like that I'd be asking for 18k at bare minimum, but if I was in absolutely no rush to sell as you are then I'd stick it up for 20k
  6. They were installed on separate vehicles. The HICAS delete was definitely worse than the arms, but neither were perfect!
  7. Hmm, asking to leave your pride and joy with a stranger for a couple of weeks is a big deal! Plus what's in it for the owner of the Supra, apart from a magazine feature
  8. Yeah that manifold is absolutely gorgeous! I'm looking forward to these updates I second removing the Driftworks rear arms. I've seen/fitted their rear arms and HICAS delete kits and they've left so much play in the bushings & wheel it was unreal.
  9. Just to update, I've been in touch with Martin at MB Automotive and we are going ahead with a mapping session in the next week or two once I've fitted a more powerful fuel pump
  10. I had it mapped by Romain twice and both times everything was fine, but because this map has been passed around 6 or so mappers, I just want someone different/new who can sort everything out once and for all and I feel the best way to do that is to visit one of the companies above
  11. No, the boys at 6boost said their vband's spool faster than T4 twin scroll
  12. Thanks all, some very useful info here! Safe to say I've found a new mapper
  13. I think vband manifolds are supposed to spool slightly faster, but I've never seen any dyno graphs relating to this
  14. Thanks for that mate, I'm going to get in touch with Sam I've used Romain before. Truly great guy; I just think this time it needs to go to someone who's never seen the car/map before so as to get an honest '3rd opinion'
  15. Hi all I need to get yet another remap on my Supra but I'm really stumped as to where to take it this time. Last place I visited was called Devil Developments which did a great job, however now the car just doesn't feel right and ultimately I just want to have the map sorted once and for all. Everything mechanical has been checked over the past month and is all absolutely fine. So, where have you guys taken your Supra to be remapped, and would you recommend them? Cheers! P.S. I have a Syvecs S6GP ECU
  16. There was a genuine blue UK spec for sale on Pistonheads for well over 2 years. Was for sale when I was looking for my Supra back in June 2014! If you're looking at buying I'd steer clear of eBay and stick to the forum and pistonheads.
  17. Out of interest - does this rule apply to sole traders only? For example, if I go to a garage for work on my Supra who aren't an authorised trader on here, am I not allowed to mention their name and talk about the great work they've done? Genuine question
  18. I just find it ironic how people protect the authorised traders with their life and act like anyone who names another business who isn't an authorised trader will be handed the death sentence, yet right in the middle of this thread there is a bloke who said he's bought some from MLR in Italy..... [emoji848]
  19. Why isn't he allowed to mention the name of a random guy who also builds LED tail lights? So I can't recommend a good garage if they ain't a trader on here? Wtf, so silly.
  20. But the plane uses air to move forward, and the air isn't moving with the conveyer. Imagine the conveyer is travelling at 200mph backwards, and the plane is turned off, the plane will go backwards. But when the engines come on (which for example on a 747 is 1/4 of a million pounds thrust each) that is PLENTY of energy to overcome the friction being made by the wheels on the conveyer, even if the bearings were worn. The wheels would need to be creating an equal or greater amount of energy that the engines are producing to prevent it taking off, which is near impossible. I hate this myth!
  21. Of course it will take off. Like others have said the wheels are free rolling - doesn't matter if they're spinning at 200mph or 2000mph, the engines will generate enough thrust to overcome this
