  1. Who did you get yours done by man? That's a bargain, especially if the finish is really that good!
  2. Hi all I'm wanting to get a full respray on my Supra (wanting to go with gunmetal grey) and was wondering if anyone can recommend a body shop within 100 miles or so from Cambridge? I've budgeted around 3-4k so hopefully will be enough to get a good job done. Cheers!
  3. Fair enough mate, after doing reg checks it displays as an RZ but if it's an RZ-S then sweet! Still a totally awesome car IMO, it just goes where you want it!
  4. Wouldn't mind to be honest, doubt I'd feel a thing if I was poked by your stick.
  5. I ain't no numpty, I've just fantasised about owning a Supra ever since I was a little kid, and now all these years of saving has finally paid off. And if you think it's cheap think again, I paid 15k for mine and I'm sure in 5 years or so they'll get more expensive, not cheaper!
  6. How to ruin a Supra in... however many days it took to ruin that Supra. Would still take it though....
  7. The performance of my Supra is already plenty for me even though its largely stock, all I wanted was to see if this sound can be replicated... No need to give me stick for not being a 'seasoned' Supra owner, everyone has to start somewhere!
  8. What exactly is a high pitch insert? I'm still not down with all the details into tuning
  9. Hi all, so after seeing quite a few Supra's I've noticed a very unique sound that many of them have in common; SEE VIDEO ( ) and skip to 0:13 There's two parts of the sound I'm talking about. One of them is that very short, high-pitched blow off valve sound, and the other is how crazily fast it bounces off the rev limiter. I'm really really keen on getting a similar setup for my Supra but I have no idea how to go about doing it?! I'd just like to know exactly how I would achieve both of those sounds on my Supra (2001 RZ), does the high-pitched sound come from a specific BOV? How do you make it so that the revs bounce off the limiter so quickly? Any help at all would be hugely appreciated!
  10. He's had the seats all swapped so they're brand new. It's definitely a RZ, what even is the difference between a RZ and a RZ-S?
  11. I'm not ever going for a single though, would much prefer to have big, steel twins than a huge single purely because I prefer having higher torque through the entire rev band, not just one massive spike at 4000rpm that shoots you off! But each to their own I guess, I'm extremely happy with this buy, although it was very pricy, totally worth it. Neat and tidy 6 speed VVTi with only 50k miles
  12. I think it's around £205 a year for tax but I'm not entirely sure
  13. I do believe only the rear is Vielside, the rest is Top Secret and Trail As for the price, it really is what would be expected for this year and model, it's practically the rarest Supra you can get; the latest year, the rarest model (TT6 Getrag) and only 50k miles due to it not being a daily
  14. So to make this clear, if for example I wanted to fit 18" Rota's onto my Supra, would they fit straight on without any issues? I'm such a newb when it comes to alloy fitment
  15. Hi all! After months and months of research, I finally found a lovely Toyota Supra RZ (the twin turbo 6 speed Getrag model) made in 2001 with only 54k miles on the clock! The asking price was £15,000 and due to my budget and the overall condition of the car I thought it only fair to the dealer to pay the full asking price as I really couldn't fault this Supra in any way, shape or form; it is totally flawless! Current modifications: 18" AVS alloys with new Dunlop Z1 tyres Brembo brakes Full body kit composed of genuine Top Secret, Veilside and Trail parts Crystal front indicators HKS exhaust system Apexi induction cone Ohlins adjustable coilovers with camber adjustment Recaro drivers seat Panasonic TV/stereo Reverse camera (installed by Toyota) Carbon fiber dash inlay HKS hardpipes HKS SQV BOV Samco silicon hoses ARC intercooler ARC oil catch tank GReddy turbo timer Brand new battery There are some other bits and bobs within the car (being an import and all!) which I don't know what they do My plans for this Supra are rather simple and will be commencing over the next year: HKS GT2835 twin turbo replacement kit (hopefully will get up to 800bhp with other supporting mods) HKS 1000cc fuel injectors HKS front mount intercooler 4" titanium exhaust HKS induction kit Volk SF Challenge alloys (I'm gonna need a miracle to find a good pair of these!) Wider rear tyres - wanting suggestions, was thinking around 265 Removal of second cat Brand new ECU stage 4 remap GReddy Type R BOV Fat speaker system NOS! Keep an eye out for a progress thread in the near future! I would love to hear some recommendations on what you think I should do with the car! I always like to get second opinions
  16. I've always liked the thought of getting the SZ-R and being able to start completely from scratch, but I personally think the best route is to find an unmodified, unmolested TT6 and for the first part of driving just have BPU done to it. I was looking into the HKS GT2835 twin-turbo upgrade and I must say, for the amount of horses that come shooting out the exhaust, I may have to get it upgraded almost instantly I've been put off the idea of having a ridiculously huge single-turbo Supra. I'm more into street performance cars that can deliver high torque and power to the wheels through the entire rev band, not just one huge spike at 4000rpm which then sends you into another dimension. Although saying that, I'm sure if I had that kind of 'spare' money, I'd still totally go for it And don't be jealous; I've been saving almost all of my money ever since I was a little kid. My passion has always been cars and racing, and all those years of living with no disposable money will soon pay off! By the way, no that anyone would be interested (I don't think) but I'm going to be starting a progress thread of my Supra from when I get it right up to whenever I decide enough is enough. You'll probably see it floating around this page within this year!
  17. Investments my friend. I put away (realistically) about 80% of ALL of my money and invest it into companies that are on the rise. I know most of that kind of stuff from my dad who makes almost all of his money by simply having money in the first place; that way its guilt-free money since it comes in on top of anything else you own, therefore I could spend it on absolutely anything I want and not feel guilty about how much money it is or where it comes from!
  18. This guy. This guy knows! At the end of the day, it IS just a car. Yes, it's very powerful, very expensive and most definitely extremely tricky to drive, but I'm not a chavvy boy-racer who will crash it within the first year. I'd take all the time in the world servicing it myself, cleaning it, looking after it, and most importantly, respecting it. I've saved over 16k all by myself now, and as I've always been taught in life; if it's YOUR money, then do what YOU want to do with it. Instead of buying loads of prostitutes and drugs like most teenagers would if they had that kind of money, I'd rather settle for a classical sports car which I can keep for years and years and years to come. I've been looking at hundreds of Supra's now, and am soon settling on a very clean, totally unmolested TT6 from 1999. Very nice car
  19. Okay, I think I'm asking the wrong question... If YOU (yes you, the person who is reading this post right now) had no car and had a budget of £10,000 to spend on a Supra, not including tax or MOT or insurance or anything else, which Supra would you buy? I fully appreciate that I am essentially going from a 1.6l naturally aspirated FWD hatchback to a 3.0l twin-turbo RWD coupe, but I have plenty of off-road experience with racing, I assure you I can control a RWD car. Maybe no a Supra, but practice makes perfect, does it not?
  20. But surely you just wouldn't feel as much power as a manual? Of course an auto Supra would still be very quick indeed, I'm just saying, a manual seems like it would be much nicer and faster to drive. I've driven auto's in the past and haven't liked a single one of them... Apart from my dads C220
  21. Yes, I've been doing some sampling with the family insurance with different models and years of the Supra; cheapest was £1,499 and most expensive was something like £3,000. I even have an SP30 By the way, forgot to mention it MUST MUST MUST be a 6-speed manual. I wouldn't dare spend all this money on a Supra if it was an automatic, I think that just absolutely kills the thrill of the ride and having total control over the rev range! Sounds like, for now, a stock TT would be the way to go then? It's always important to try and buy one that hasn't been molested and thrashed, which I think is true with the majority of single-turbo conversions.
  22. Hi everyone. I'm not expecting even one reply to this thread since I'm brand new to this forum but here goes anyway. I'm 18 years old (yes I know why am I buying a Supra at the age of 18) and planning to buy a Supra MKIV. I don't need to worry about insurance as my family have a huge split policy which I can get added onto for cheap. Anyway, I have a £10,000 budget for EVERYTHING to do with the car itself, and I'm struggling between choice. Would I be better off buying a twin-turbo Supra for around £9,000 and then spending the small remainder of the money on minor modifications, or would I be better off buying a naturally aspirated Supra for around £3,500 and then spending the rest of the money on a full single-turbo conversion (this cost around £5,000 for the lot) and then the rest of the money on, again, other small modifications? I only want advice as this will be my second car and I want to make sure that I do this perfectly; I'm a huge car enthusiast, especially when it comes to JDM imports, so I want to get whatever I will gain the most reliability, power, and fun out off. I've heard from other Supra owners that I'd be better off getting the stock twin-turbo model and just adding bits and bobs to that, but again, I've been told that you can run a fully customized single-turbo conversion on a Supra and get close to 800rwhp alone?! You can see why I'm slightly confused. An honest answer would be hugely appreciated!! By the way, I currently drive a 1.6l Vauxhall Corsa, and therefore am aware that even getting a totally stock Supra N/A would still blow my brains away, but I want more poweerrr! Cheers
