  1. No.... that was decatted at 1.3 bar, hybrids and a front mount intercooler
  2. Hell Yeah power brake away! Just try to power brake for short durations in order to prevent frying the oil. I had one of those rare quiet days atsanta pod many moons ago and clocked up nearly 20 runs down the strip, power braked all the time, the car was running for most of the day, pulled a 13.01 runn at 116 and drove home! no probs.

  11. A couple of years ago if your old blowers went bang then the answer was 'GO FOR HYBRIDS'. Cost was the main factor along with the "steel internals makes a stronger setup" and so on. Now its clear its a lot more difficult to answer. People have played and played with the standard blowers. If you've only got 'repair' money available then just go and get some standard refurbished ones. If on the other hand you are like many people in this car club and will allways be wanting to 'Modify' your car, then dig deep, stump up the Xtra lolly and GO SINGLE!
  12. One of the reasons I've gone for a single setup is the straight line potential, the other is from my experience around the track. (knockhill last time) My right foot gave me most of the 1-2 turbo control I needed but I would always be at the point of the second turbo coming on line and having to drive through the exit of the corner a little further to let no2 come on line because of the jolt between 1 and 2 coming on song. It wasnt a real issue but at least with the single setup correctly your right foot should soon get used to the power band and get to push the car a little further out of the corners... Just my pennies worth.
  13. AH! Thankyou. There's that little worry delt with! I was told by my mechanic that this was the case. Dont suppose you know why this is so??
  14. Ive just looked at my car and it doesnt seem to have a dampner attached to the cam belt tensioner. It's the little shock absorber thingy next to the tensioner on the technical diagrams??? My car is a UK auto Is there a difference between UK US and jap versions ????
  15. Maverick Iv'e done the standard turbo's to hybrids route before the single turbo was a realistic option and TBH, never gained anything worth while over the standard one's. The only thing I got was more lag and a 600 pound bill for getting them fixed again after 6 months. This may well have been due to poor fitting, but then again.... If I had the choice all over again I'd spend my £1500 plus fitting on a small single, (BL61) kit or similar. For the extra you will spend in cash you'll no doubt feel it was money well spent. If you go for hybrids you still need to keep an eye on the engine temps, boost and fuel to make the most of them so why not spash out on a single instead
  16. Matt. I havn't driven my soop for all that time now, let along one thats completly new in anger I was thinking of putting sat nav in as well but then I thought of you and quickly changed my mind To be honest some of the stuff Gary has done is new on a soop so there's no telling how quick it could be. Anything's going to feel fast after using my girlfriends bog standard s13 for all this time
  17. Cheers Matt. Cant wait to get beaten again. I'll be over to see you quite soon I hope for a helping of RLTC.

  19. Hi Steve It spent 6 months at Torque IC then justin shut down the company and buggered off after paying him too much money. I then managed to get Gary to take it on but most of the parts were missing from when it was at Torque IC. It was a complete mess.Zeeka helped me make up some of the larger missing parts but I,ve had to buy dozens and dozens from new. Also the only way I could get gary to take this on at the money u could afford was to allow him to fit the reconstruction in between his other work. During that time I decided to go the whole hog and go single and earning all the money for the parts has taken many months! There have been so many small things to order along the way, bolts one week brackets the next... that the weeks roll by just waiting for parts to arrive! Its been exremly fustrating at times
  20. Thanks Attilauk. It still needs to be cleaned properly but is somewhat different to the old grey dirty look it used to have..
  21. My car is now running Its been 2 and a half years in the making and waiting ... Just to see and hear it ru nning again has made me so happy. Its being tuned now along with a few little extra cooling bits to go on so I'm reconing for about 2 more weeks of fettleing/ running in then I can hit the road once more. I'd like to say a big thankyou to all the people who have helped along the way and a special thanks to Gary and Chris at GT-ART for putting many more hours in than Ive paid them for, Kean at Boostlogic for all his bits of kit and time spent on the phone and Zeeka at Trac art for giving parts off another engine after Justin left my with a pile of bits! Ive put in a few pics as well.
  22. Hi Jay. Cheers for that. I've purchased one from Envy ... Just got to try a few other things now.
  23. Hi I'm getting my car tuned today...and...I'm seeing 92 -101 degrees Has anyone measured the coolant temps between idle and WOT in their car? I'm wondering what they are as standard and whats the temp the thermostat opens? Also can you get a TRD thermostat?
  24. TBH the only thing you'll get from it is an engine bay with a little less clutter. It's a plastic container, so there's little weight to be lossed with its removal.
