Hi Chilli . I've had work carried out on my car by GT art Nr lewes, just off the A27 .He mainly does skylines but the work there is first rate and very proffesional to boot. He's got a rolling road there for all that a/f ratio stuff as well.

I've gone gone for a non primary colour as many of ther cars seem to go for bright reds or blues. Some of the light tones blend well with the chrome parts and make the engine bay a little less serious. I rekon purple looks good ! Give your car the gothic look

Just wondering which is the most useful, Oil temp or Oil pressure?

L 1**** Silver jap tt with side skirts. You were driving behind me in my saab convertible today until you turned off at a fork. A perfect supra day!

I'm not sure if this is the norm but most folk here seriously considering ecu upgrades have had, or are getting, work done to mod their engines as well. In my case I certainly dont have the knowledge or time to do all the work to the engine myself so I took it to an experienced workshop to get my goodies put on. Over time you naturally set up some kind of relationship with the garage and they in turn get to know what kind of results your after. They will have certain areas of expertise, in my case 'f-con pro units. They know me and my car, I know and trust them, It stands to reason that I would use the ECU they have experience with to ensure the best results. . .I hope i'm not misguided in my presumption

I dont know how long it is before anyone else is getting their ECU upgrades and I can fully understand that each trader wants to prove their products and services, but I'm actually getting my car mapped with the f-con pro in the next couple of weeks., when i'll gladly share my experiences as soon as its up and running!

I thought I'd just say that my Auto supra (uK) spec is being mapped at Gt Art in the next week or so. I've got A single turbo, a high stall torque convertor and a BL modified Auto box, so I can't use the manual settings just to make Gary's life more complicated. He's invested a lot in his 4 wheel dyno and IMHO it all seems a very impressive setup. Gary has done work with many other makes of car, not just skylines and I've no doubt that the end product will be worth the wait. I'm not sure but because Kean at BL has mentioned that I should only use the 'D' position due to changes in line pressure when using the modified autobox I believe an auto dyno run should be carried out with the car strapped down, overdrive off and with the auto box in 'D', allowing the revs to settle once in 3rd gear. Once there the you can get lockup by: A/ (The lockup wire is at 14 B.If i remember correctly, it is a Green wire with black stripe), to force the gear box to stay in third or B/ try to coaxe the box into its own locked state...Hmmm! Then hope for the best and floor it all the way to the red line!!!! IS this correct??????

Thanks . I'm not holding out too much hope they'll be right but I'll try and find out today. I think He said they would be 9" rims but as to the offset???? Would the stud spacing be the same PCD as the Soop?

Someone has offered me a pair of 18"wheels from a Skyline with a pair of slicks on them. Does anybody know if they would fit on my Supra???

Sorry to hear your having this problem with the alarm! This happened to me too! Unfortunatly the only thing I could do in the short term was get the alarm unit replaced by my friendly toyota garage... At the very alarming price of £120+ vat and a battery at £55+ vat. There might be a way to reset the alarm, If you speak to toyota they might give some info on which button to press for 15 sec or something like that. Other than that remove the battery, recharge it over night and see if it works on full charge. Also Matt harwood knows his alarms very well and he would be a good person to speak to.

Count me in I've wanted to do this for a long time, the more people that go the better!

Hi CJ I'm working With GT-ART at the minute on my project car . One of the things Gary's done is work hard to modify the head on the car with a mind to rev to 8500 rpms and not go pop! The bottom ends' been upgraded as well with ARP bolt and JUN rods and Pistons. It might sound a bit much but If your serious about getting the most from the engine Gary would be a good person to call. Robbie

Just got myself a new policy set up to start next month with Liverpool Victoria. Tel.0800 608 608 x5182 I spoke to Kevin Radford. My uk spec with single turbo and all the other stuff = £714 Not bad for someone living in S.E London He didnt ask me If the car was parked on the road or not or about any alarm? Last year I was with HIC and got fleeced £1700, and that was the best I got after 5 different quotes. Now where on the car can I spend the money I've just saved...???? :D

When I was 18, I'm now 33 I travelled to bug jam..Good fun, Lots of parties an all that. Anyway one of the guest rwyb's was a modded porshe 911, that got spanked on the strip by a brown, beefed up road going beetle. It ran 10.36 at 136. If I remember correctly there were a quite a few cars running fast times. Some of the Bugs are mighty quick! So I'm thinking that they might have gotten quicker in the 15 or so years since I was there... resulting in some serious competition for any supra or skyline.... then again, who knows! If its still anything like it was then now, its worth going in my humble opinion:)

Hello Mr Trac Art... No my car isn't finished yet I'm afraid but It wont be long now...Nearly all the elecs are in and the engine should be ready to be put back in its bay in a couple of weeks:) . This thread has become very interesting and in the most very positive. An area/thread with positve/good recommendations would be very usefull indeed. I know these can be found on other threads but a consise area for the work done and who did it can only be a good thing:) Leave out the stories of woe, mine alone is very long, very expensive and the reason I began this thread. I've now had six different garages work on my supra including toyota. Some of the reasons for moving to another garage has been down to the personality of the owners others done to honesty, quality of workmanship and once the garage shut down with my car in bits... So all in all my best supra results so far have been with Chris Wilson and Gary Passingham at GT ART. -

Not many by the look, of it then! Must mean everyone does all the work themselves then apart from me... oh well:p -
I was wondering who are the best and worst Supra mechanics! and where are they based? Would people be willing to share their experiences of what happened when they took their pride and joy to one of these garages?
