  1. My Supra is mostly stock performance wise other than exhaust and 2 row intercooler + intake.. and HKS EVC4 The 2nd turbo usually wasn't coming online, car would be accelerating but didn't feel the punch from 2nd turbo most of the time. Well anyways I just did the TTC conversion just to see if things would change. Mostly in 1st and 2nd gear the car feels gutless. Sometimes it will be pulling up to even like 5/6k rpm and I don't feel the punch from the turbo's at all. Another thing is that in TTC the car should be constantly loud since the valve is open yes? well it is on/off. Sometimes it is LOUD, other times it is quieter like sequential. I am thinking the valve is not opening up all the time? IF SO, what is the cause of this? and how could I fix the issue Here is somethings that have been checked so far: pressure tank is fine VSV is fine boost leak test done, no IC leak or vaccum line leak... disconnecting boost controller no improvement What is the next to-do ? checking for blocked cat converter possibley or I was reading about some 2 hoses running above the turbo's where they could have failed on the inside? I have owned 2 other TT cars and those drove very smooth and responsive. This Supra from the 4 months I've had it has been very sluggish I am ready for BPU just need to figure out this problem first.
  2. So I just gently turn the allen key till the adjustment stops? My goal is to have it set on the softest option. Cheers! edit: I have a damper adjustment key from my old HKS coilovers maybe I should give that a try
  3. I'll have to go to a proper shop that can actually do the Lance alighnment
  4. I am in the process of trying to locate a dampening adjustment key/pin thingy for my Ohlins. They came setup like this from Japan. Most likely on the hardest option. I need to soften up my suspesnion for the street a bit. After I get that sorted, I'll be upgrading the front/rear sway bars. Strut bars and wheel setup I am already set. What are the kind of alighnment's you guys are running? I'm looking for something that will help me 'feel' the front wheels more, more aggressive and sharper handling, but also something that'll give me decent tyre tread wear. From what I recall these are my current settings, from a shop that was supposed to do the 'Lance' alighnment but didn't get it right after I saw the print out. -0.8 front. + 5.0 caster, 0.00mm toe - 1.2 rear. 1.00 toe Cheers
  5. I'm taking it to a friends shop, he works on Supra's often, and has a 800bhp one himself. He will let me know what the problem is. If the turbos are actually on the way out it would be a good excuse for a single setup hopefully just a leak going on somewhere though.
  6. Oh boy...... I tried everything I can to gently remove the hoses. End result, I ended up cracking OFF two connecting points (outlined in green in pictures), I had to cut the rest of the hoses to just remove them. For TTC I have everything hooked up correctly. In sequential, I was already have a bad leak where my 2nd turbo wasn't coming online most of the time. Took the car for a drive, just like in Sequential most of the time the boost wasn't coming on properly. In 2nd this happend all the time, in 3rd it usually did fully spool up just after 4000rpm. Also when I revved, and between 3000-4000 I have this rattling sound coming from the engine, like shacking a jar full of little rocks or something. Will go to my mecanic tomorrow hope we can get it sorted. I want everything in order before going BPU. http://imageshack.us/a/img94/567/andy03.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/8742/andy05r.jpg
  7. Well I have done a lot of reading on TTC. It seems like a lot of people like it a lot and others just like sequential more. Personally the benefits for me it gives sounds really good, especially put less stress on the turbos while I can run 1.2 bar, sounds beasier, etc. I'll do the temp mod and see how it is first.
  8. When I do the '5 minute TTC conversion' by just switching around a couple of hoses, am I just able to keep it like this the whole time. Or is there any benefit doing the permanent TTC mod. If there really is no benefit then I would rather not go through the hassle of doing that. I just want to make sure the car performs in the same way with the 'termporary' mod compared to the permanent one.
  9. I'm not sure if I'll get my answer her but any info would be great. My Supra came with Ohlins coilovers. I was told its one of the best you can get so one of the better models, not sure on the exact brand thoguh. When I got my car in the trunk with the coilover adjustment tools I do recall there being this round piece with a pin. I found out that apparantly this is to adjust the dampening. The dampening right now is very stiff. I basically misplaced this piece and I was wondering where could I get one?
  10. If you combine the description of Problem 1 and problem 3 that's EXACTLY the issues I'm having. It actually does spool fine SOMETIMES. So I'm positive there is just a leak somewhere, either loose hose or cracked. I'll start off by checking all the hoses that are running to the IACV and EGCV and see if I can find any trances. That's for the link, it's quite helpful.
  11. As of right now performance wise I have a pretty stock Supra. It boosts around 0.7 bar, ARC 2 row intercooler, 3" straight through exhaust with the full stock cat, and a light weight flywheel. While a friend has his boost controller only set on 0.5 bar he manages to slightly always beast me off the line and in the straight, he has less performance upgrades than me. I'd say maybe only 30% of the time the 2nd turbo will spool strong and car will pull but mostly the car will be accelerating but I don't feel the kick from the 2nd turbo.. it's very sluggish. I drove another Supra TT recently which was stock and felt soooo much more responsive. So my real question is what are some common hoses that could be leaking or not properly connected? I figure I'd like to start on those before I go checking all the rest. My sequential system right now is annoying. I want to get it figured out... so then I can do the TTC setup and 1st/2nd decat, etc.
  12. Right now I have the stock Supra cat with a 3" midpipe. Now for the single turbo conversion I will be going with a Treadstone cast manifold/38mm wastegate and Precision 6262 Turbo. I'm trying to see if there is a 3" downpipe out there that could fit this setup? I'm not in the UK, but I'm willing to buy there or anywhere really if the price and fitment is right. I'm seeing if there is a downpipe that goes straight to the exhaust piping, or possibley to the TT midpipe. cheers
  13. I'm looking for simple drop-in injectors that replace the stock 440cc. I am going single turbo with a Precision 6262 .68 on castmanifold. Should make up about (500whp). The USDM 550cc seem like the cheapest option but that is pushing it. I'd like to get 600cc + I was looking into the SARD 650cc but they seem to be pricey. What are some other options?
  14. Is there really any negatives from leaving the car parked out in the cold like this? Mine will be parked in the same spot for about 3 months. I might start it up once a while it move it but won't be driving it.
  15. My mechanic has IACV almost new condition, we will throw it in and the next day start the car up and see if that did it..
  16. Ok changing the spark plugs did nothing I am still having the same issues with starting. Basically car runs no different with the new plugs. It will crank and fire up but right away on a cold engine... but the the RPM will drop and it'll die right after that. I have to attempt starting it usually around 3 times before it holds an idle. It will bounce back and forth between 600-700 and car will roughly shake. Once it warms up for a couple minutes it seems to run perfectly fine. What coud be the next thing I should have checked? It has brand new plugs and clean idle control valve.
  17. It has particular mods 2 row intercooler straight through 3" exhaust full stock cat
  18. Ok so I got my 97 TT 6spd facelift a few months back. It had problems getting started on cold start, it would keep dying but after 5-6 attempts it would stay on. So I first checked my Idle Control Valve, it was clean inside... but I cleaned it anyways. This didn't solve the issue, so I got my spark plugs changed to IK22's today. It should most likely solve my starting issues. But anways, the idle for me still seems quite LOW. I thought it would improve with the plug change. My last Supra idled like BUTTER! it sat right at around 900rpm and never went below. It was a 95 TT 6-speed. Here is a picture of how my Supra idles on average. Is there anything else I can look into? The low idle I have now makes the car sound quite, it shakes quite a bit... its quite annoying. http://img547.imageshack.us/img547/1767/img20121025151854.jpg
  19. No worries! thanks though! I was able to call a friend which is willing to take his OEM wing off for me. Should have something to go off of.
  20. Anyone here with a wingless Supra that still have the factory holes in place ? or even better yet any pictures? I had the holes weldned shut and I'd like to mount my TRD spoiler.
  21. same with me ^ smallest turbo to get the desired power.. that's why I am considering the 5862 but I personally think it is a little bit too small. just wanted some other input but I am pretty set on 6262 with .68 A/R I do mostly town driving and I think the 6262 on average is fully spooled around 3800 range
  22. Mate of mine owns a shop, has hookup with Precision turbo discount for me. So this is my turbo choice. My power goal is about 480-490rwhp on pump gas. Not sure what that is in BHP, around 530/540? It would be with stock cams (I would upgrade to some 264's down the road) 800cc SARD, 3" downpipe/exhaust, 3 row intercooler, ETC.... just the basic supporting mods. I know that the 6262 WILL make the power without a doubt. I have been reading the USA Supra forums and see people making around 490/500rwhp on average at 1.2bar on pump gas. My real question here is what A/R size to go with? Would T4 .68 housing be ideal? or would the .81 be better? whatever has the quicker spool. Also would the 6262 be too big for my power goals or ideal? There is also another Precision Turbo 5862 with .84 A/R (58mm), would this make the power I'm after with a set of cams and 1.3/1.4 bar on pump gas?
  23. whoops I just realized the front speakers are not 4", I should be getting some 6" speakers for the doors. I think the rear seat ones are 4". Ok but aside fitment, is it as simple as unplugging the factory ones and plugging in the new speakers I buy?
  24. So my Supra is getting painted now with my bodyman. We removed the door pannels as I had to remove the door handles and mirrors. Since the whole door is taken apart already I'd prefer to do everything on one shot. ! So once I have the new speakers what steps do I have to take to take to replace the current one? I just glanced at it and I believe there were 3 or 4 very small screws holding it in place. When I pop it out is it as simple as just unpluggin the old one and pluging the new one in? Never done it before so looking for some pointers. Also for the speaker cover on the door pannel, I believe that when I purchase some 4" speakers they would include new covers? so the new cover would just go on the door pannel? cheers
