prices are pretty much the same (if not more expensive) as in the UK in the malls - gold and diamonds are cheap, you should check the gold price before you go. I know one guy who buys out there and sells it here which pretty much pays for his holiday.

I would suggest dessert safari - max speed over sand dunes and ridiculous 80 degree slopes in a role caged modded 4x4, dinner at the burj (sp), skiing at the hall of emirates. Have you sorted your accommodation mate? I have an apartment you can rent if you like ps tons of nice cars out there - take us some pics!

Will there be any issues in cutting open the USB cable and soldering the wires to the connectors on the USB port which faces the outside? Cheers Farhan

Dammit! Well there doesnt seem to be a cage in here but the plastic back cover I removed seems to have a layer of silver sheeting - should I remove this when I put the modem in?

I've opened up the laptop and it will fit, the modem is a huweai(sp?) and has an external aerial jack. I dont really want a blob stuck to the side of the laptop! lol:D

I'm integrating a 3G (usb) modem inside the expansion slot of a laptop so the modem doesnt flap about outside. I would prefer to solder to the connectors on the USB from the outside and avoid the motherboard, as long as I am sure the colour coding doesnt change its ok. Cheers Far

Printing & admin duties are much cheaper in India. For example even printers here who 'gang up' jobs dont come close to Indian prices
