  1. Is this definetly on the sunday 11th as the first page says 10th and dont want to turn up on the wrong day!
  2. Not that I'm going to do it but how much do you think a Chevy conversion is likely to cost? Would be an interesting project.
  3. Hi and welcome to the site. Needing a gearbox rebuild with such low miles doesn't sound normal. Have you checked/toped up the gearbox fluid level or changed it? That's what I'd do first.
  4. Ashley, I believe if you take your remote to an alarm shop they can make you another for about £25. My alarm on my old car was rather tatty looking and thought it might stop working one day and hence enquired. The key you can get cut my almost any hardware place for a few pounds.
  5. Oh dear not more bad news! Why no replacement? I had a hire car Daewoo Lanos a few years ago and things liked falling off it, breaking etc. The hire company delivered a new one to me at work and took away the old one.
  6. Hi BigMoistyturbo, Sorry to hear about your car falling through! Really annoying. Do you mind me asking how much Toyota price this car at when you said trade price?
  7. Hi Oxygene sorry to hear about this expense! I agree with the others that you have said nothing that suggests you don't trust Abbey or are questioning them but when your spending this sort of money you have every right to double check with others into the costs of the work. If they have a problem with you doing this it only suggests they have something to hide. I don't know how long it takes to take a remove a head (I'm not a mechanic) but I thought it was in the region of 12 hours like others have said. As Supna said this equates to something in the region of £110 per hour which is absolutely ridiculous! I hope you get this sorted in a way that your happy with but I would have to question that sort of labour rate and just hope your not getting ripped off. Good luck.
  8. Sounds like the usual rubbish they come out with.
  9. My postcode isn't a high risk area and the car is garaged. Elephant are the cheapest but the problem is the bunch of hats they use for picking quotes out from doesn't cater for the NA Supra. I could insure it as an import TT for less than anyone else but if anything happened they would use that to get out of paying for it so I wouldn't do that.
  10. Perhaps I shouldn't be complaining so much about the ridiculous cost of insuring an import then! Its times like these I need a UK car. These prices aren't that good Faye as they are only TPFT not fully comprehensive. Best quote for fully comprehensive so far is £1500 with Bell direct.
  11. So far its looking like. 23 year old. 2 years NCB, car garaged, SZ manual, clean license etc. £1400 Tesco £1070 Bell direct £1044 Adrian Flux Elephant- There is no such car as the non turbo supra And lots of people that wouldn't even quote! Still plenty more calls to make.
  12. Have to agree I called some insurance company today. Before giving all the details I said 'Do you insure imports for under 25's?' They said they weren't sure and would have to take all the details first. Got the end of the quote and surprise sorry sir we don't insure imports for under 25's!
  13. It used to work ok for me before I started using Kerio Personal firewall but now even with that disabled it just keeps refreshing.
  14. Hi all, When I try to get a quote from Tescos online for car insurance the page just keeps refreshing itself over and over and I cant do anything. http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/index.html?goto=products/motorins/apply.jsp Does any one know why this may be or how I can stop it happening? Thanks Adrian
  15. Not sure about the HKS Induction but the standard airbox on the NA is slightly different to the TT so perhaps not.
  16. They are nice Matt. If you put them in the for sale section with a price I cant imagine you having any problem selling them.

    Undetray

I know! I'm looking for both the undertrays second hand at some point as I'm not paying over £200 for 2 bits of plastic.

That sounds like undertray one, not sure on the part number but the price is a ridiculous at over £100.
  19. Just in case any one wonders what HUD looks like because I didn't know: http://www.new-cars.com/2002/chevrolet/chevrolet-corvette-photos.html Plus few other nice pics too.
  20. Lucky you I love the Corvette C5, probably one of my favourite cars!
  21. As has already been said any media product is about keeping its target audience happy. I'm sure the mail shots BMW sends to its owners has no mention of the McDonald's cruise and Kev's modified 1989 316i with M3 badges and a Halfords tailpipe. This is no different, these magazines want to portray this image. If someone spends 20K modifying a Fiesta then compares it to a stock NA Supra its going to be quicker! If you spent 20K modifying a Supra then racing a standard Fiesta then that's going to be quicker too. There was a video going around a while ago with a Supra beating loads of top end exotics that we enjoyed watching I guess its the same principle.
