  1. Hmmm, I actually said Stonehenge because it wasn't on the list - but I just looked again and it is! Interesting idea Laz, although half the ones on the poll would fail your 'test' (not saying the test is wrong, just making an observation).
  2. Stonehenge? Surely there must be something in the UK we can put forward. Big Ben? Houses of Parliment? St Pauls? (even if it is an architectural 'cheat') Tower Bridge?
  3. And surely after putting all the effort in you'd just like to know before you sell it...?
  4. I think you have to expect the buyer to want to drive the car themselves. I wouldn't buy a car unless I was able to drive it (although eyefi would probably confirm that I did the worst test drive in history when I bought my Supra off him, I didn't exactly put the car through it's paces, lol). Also for many people this will be the first time they've driven a Supra, so they'll almost certainly want to get a feel of the driving position, etc. So with regardless to your 'if they ask to, do I floor it?' comment, I think you're going to have to accept that you will have to let them do the driving. Suggest you find a good bit of road nearby that you can include on the test drive where they can floor it to check performance and turbo smoke, etc. Then if you make it clear that 'there's a fast bit coming up' it's implied that there is a set time&place for them to do that bit and that the rest of the testdrive should be conducted at a more reasonable pace. Afterall, it's still YOUR car until they buy it. Insurance - tricky one. I'm not sure how to approach this myself. I think you just need to be strict with people and state that there are no test drives without proof of insurance. Having said that, I don't think many people are covered full comp for other cars - I know mine is only third party for other vehicles. Now if the potential buyer smacks it on the test drive... All issues I've been pondering on myself recently.
  5. 1) Having just this second seen an advert for it on telly it's reminded me to ask what on God's earth are CheeseStrings made of? Is that actually cheese? That's gotta be borderline trade descriptions act. 2) Stuffed crust pizzas. That just cannot be cheese that they stuff the crusts with, it's more like some kind of yellow polymer. Again, does it technically qualify as cheese? Naturally I turned to the Supra forum to answer these questions on modern life that have perplexed me. :cheese:
  6. Sigh. Okay then: I suspect it's something that was added to the J specs at facelift time. If we're talking about facelifts there's a fair chance that we're not talking about UK specs are we?!
  7. Has to be said you could make one, or get one made, for peanuts.
  8. Hong Kong Your Wong's Gone Buy From Me I'm Nearly Free I Love You Long Time Imports HKS (Hong Kong Suppliers) Possibly already taken... Bits And Bobs Supplied (BABS) Bits And Bobs Supplied (WIll Not Deliver South of Rotherham) (BABS WINDSOR) Crappy Jappy Slappy Imports (slogan: Trust Us!) It Started As A Hobby But It's Taken Over My Life Imports (slogan: The Company History Is In The Name!) Importstation? (playing on the Playstation theme, with the S being 'Imports' and 'Station') (and please do something about that unreadable yellow-on-white writing in your sig!!)
  9. I think you understand it perfectly because it sounds like that's exactly what you do! I don't recall reading anywhere in this thread a recommendation to do more than what you've suggested there (infact, personally I would consider the garage warm up to be OTT).
  10. Hmm, that's an interesting view, thanks for that
  11. If he actually has a cover hanging bit (haven't we just been having this conversation in the rest of the thread?!). I suspect it's something that was added at facelift time. VVTi's have them, Duffer's and my pre-facelifts don't. Wow, I wonder if anyone had spotted THAT facelift difference before now?!
  12. I had this on my 200SX but there's nothing on the Supra. I thought it was an odd bit of missed design by the Toyota boys.
  13. Sorry, I didn't make it clear - this isn't a tuning house demo car, I'm talking about Golfs, Fiestas, etc.
  14. Any pitfalls or advantages to buying one of these? The only issue I could see is that it might have been hammered while still cold, but are they good value or best avoided? When there are ex-demonstrators for sale they always seem to put the fact in the advert like it's something for the buyer to be aware of so they can expect faults or because it's good value, so what's the deal? Fanks folks.
  15. Yet more evidence of my 'my posts are invisible' theory, lol!
  16. Or buy my silver TT Aerotop for £8500 when I wash the damn thing for some photos
  17. I have to confess that I don't really know the full details of the case. I know they took a 3 year old from a shopping centre and then killed him beside a railway line. That's about all I know. There was so much tabloid ranting at the time that I never actually got to read the full details.
  18. Now that's another thing that's irritating - quoting pictures in replies!
  19. I'm a different person at 35 than what I was at 30 (I've had a sex change for a start). At 30 I was different to the person I was at 25. At 25... you get the idea. We all change, especially when it comes to things like falling in love and having kids, and the death of a relative or someone close to us. These change us as people. The Bulger case involves two 14 year olds. At 14 I had very different ideals to what I have now. I knew the difference between right and wrong, and I'm proud to say I've never been in trouble with the police in my life (although oddly some people would consider that something to laugh at), so I don't know if I can relate my own life to what they did. At 14 I would have known that what they did was wrong and wouldn't have done it myself. But I've changed. Could they have changed to? Do they now have different ideals and a different sense of right and wrong? I dunno. Phew, deep.
  20. I've never used either the smilie or made a repost comment (AFAIK, and the above reply of course) but I agree it's irritating. Recently I put up some pics from my hard disk as I was clearing it out and that got a repost comment. I thought people might like them, so I bunged them up, what's the value in adding that they've been posted before? The latest 'trend' seems to be to put 'RE' 'PO' and 'ST' in seperate replies. Wow, how clever. Overall though I just find it irritating and pointless, but I couldn't really say I care about it! Bit of a 'shrug shoulders' one really. It seems to happen a lot more recently than ever before, and I don't think it adds the slightest bit of value to the forum, but... hey ho.
  21. Yes but that 'joke' was made by whitesupraboy2 in the second reply so your repost comment is a repost.
  22. Jake removed the one I wanted to get rid of, but that was for protected cells and not the whole sheet. Dunno what he used.
