  1. I think Rob was being quite diplomatic there actually Definitely not a full Veilside kit, just the nose (those are standard side skirts + rear spats and standard rear wing - these would all be different if you had a 'full' Veilside kit). Never seen those wheels before. If they are a Toyota option we're talking very very rare!
  2. Ah yes, that pristine interior that you ripped out omg, what have you done to the turbo?! I nursed that baby for 7.5 years! How's it doing for rust, etc? Man, that was a truly great car. 7.5 years and the only things I had to change were consumables like tyres, exhaust and battery. A service every 6 months and absolutedly nothing went wrong with it.
  3. Goddamit, the man is a genius!
  4. This is just about the only photo I have at the moment - I really need to give it a wash and take some more, particularly of the interior. For GZ, RZ, etc, info, check out the FAQ section. More info on the car: [email protected]
  5. Well I assumed as the chappie is in the UK that he wants a RHD version, unless he's going to import one from US. (or Europe? I guess since they had manual Aerotops over there that again a 6 speed Aerotop exists on the continent)
  6. You could buy my TT Aerotop for significantly less than that...
  7. If you go down to your local Halfords matey they have books of paint samples for their paint mixing service (which is utter shite I should point out). Failing that, if you've got a local place that supplies car paint (like I have) they too have books showing different colours.
  8. What's the significance of your car being an auto with regard to breakdown cover?
  9. Or to buy from someone on here.
  10. This is just the UK v J spec argument in a new disguise, isn't it?!
  11. Why are we talking about a thread last used in June?
  12. Regretfully that is still the term I use when describing my local oriental takeaway outlet!
  13. No, I agree, they shouldn't. But equally I'm not sure they have? Your P&O Ferries example (and I accept it was just an example) couldn't really be called 'the majority of society'. Are there any examples of the majority of society having to change in this country to make others more comfortable? Racist activity would be one, but no one could never say that was a bad change. What speed? We've had people of different backgrounds living here for decades! To take an example, I grew up with people who probably were offended by my celebrating of Christmas, and yet only in the last couple of years have I started to see things about not celebrating it for fear of offending people. So that's over 30 years it's taken for 'change' to occur. (I have to say that personally I don't agree with it - I'm not offended by their celebration of their own religious days, so why should they be offended by mine? It's the use of the word 'offended' I always find a little odd - are people really offended by it or is it simply a day they don't celebrate or recognise? I'm not sure how people are 'offended' by it...?) I see it as evolution - we learn that our old ways were wrong and change them. That makes us a better society. Anyway, I can't help but feel the thing was posted by CJ just to provoke discussion!
  14. Replying to all of it would take too long, so just a few choice titbits: We speak ENGLISH, not Indian, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language! There's a difference between living here and wanting to become part of the society. Many choose to live in a society that replicates their homeland - I have no issue with that. As long as they pay their taxes and abide by our laws then I have no issue with their being, say, an Indian society in a particular area of a city. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture. I don't believe in God but consider myself English. I would much prefer to make the choice as to if I want to be religious or not - worshipping God was part of my primary school education (and it was a normal state school). I would quite happily remove God from English culture and let people choose. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change Cultural change is part of society's development. Our culture used to burn suspected witches at the stake, or to send children into coalmines, or to not allow women to vote. I'm glad we changed from that. and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. Well, I'm quite interested in how the Indians cook food, or how Italians make pizza. Or how the Japanese build cars maybe...? Is this person really so arrogant as to believe that they know best about everything and can learn nothing from anyone else? I think that's sufficient to show it's largely crap.
  15. It's always been like this - the important thing to keep in mind is that the number of slaggy threads is about 1%. It just feels like they are all over the place because they grow into multi-page monsters. When you read through 6 or 7 pages of crap you tend to remember that one, not the other 10 single page jobbies that talk about new wheels, what's the squeaking from my suspension, part number please, look at my new pants, etc, etc. I did make a promise to myself to not reply in argument threads about 6 months ago (the same for 'club related' threads too). Generally I keep to that, but I also find that when I do reply in them no one takes a blind bit of notice because no one really knows me (I've never been to a meeting, for example). Just look at my two contributions to the slowdog threads - it's almost like my post never appeared, the people just keep talking like I'm not there, lol ! I've said it before anyway: this is just the internet. Putting it in perspective... who really gives a crap about what's said on here? It's insignificant in terms of our lives. :wisdom:
  16. Are petrol garages run as franchises? Shell may provide the equipment but I suspect the garage owner is responsible for the maintenance. And without going to hospital and having a medical report he'll get nowhere asking for compensation. What does he expect them to do? All Shell will do is say 'Sorry, we'll have a word with the manager' and that's about as much as they can do. A bad experience, yes, but Shell are kinda limited in what they can do. The injury wasn't bad enough to warrant medical attention and the manager probably isn't a direct Shell employee.
  17. Is this the one where Quentin Wilson says 'Currently she drives this totally unsuitable Toyota Supra' as we see her backing up the kerb? I thought it was silver. Tsk, my memory.
  18. Can't you just take it down the local Kwikfit and slip the bloke a tenner to refit it?
  19. What's the effin point?! WHY do people quote a picture ffs!!! :drown:
