  1. yea mate, its a brace it goes from the manifold, to the bottom of the engine. youl have to get underneath the car to fit it. tbh i havent put mine back on, i will get round to it at one point though
  2. i did for a few about 2-3 months, then realized i had left it on, so about 2 months it was off. what are the marks? car sounds awfull when brake, it sounds like the pads are down to the metal but they are brand new? (and they only go on the one way so cant be wrong?)
  3. which one you stuck on? the first pic, the vacuum goes from the pressure tank, onto here, where it says manifold pressure supply hose
  4. bumping this thread, i drove the car for the first time properly today, ive drove the car 10-15 miles. the car is still doing the noise. ive taken a pic of the both rear discs, they are both the same and have a mark going through them? how is this? will it clear up or do i need new discs??
  5. ok cheers guys im getting the car out properly sunday looking forward to using it this year
  6. i had one, looked loverly apart from the oil dipstick popping out all the time (air pas the rings) it was ok was around 300BHP, if i had the boost turned up it would have been better (but then probably less reliable) didnt feel very confident with it though due to paranoya with reliability stories. i actually had this aswel as my TT6 and when i got strait out of the Z and into the supra, it really did show how much of a better car the supra was in every way. well the supra was worth 3 times as much lol here it was.... was happy when i sold it
  7. that seems to be going overboard putting AN fittings on there, you can just get a long piece of the rubber hose (oil resistant) and relotate the resivour where ever you want, it needs to be higher than the pump though. heres the Jun engine bay, they have theirs right at the front too...
  8. yea think so, easy to do mate, i have the clear ones on mine rarther than smoked but each to their own
  9. ok thanks guys swampy i did see they had areas of brown rusty-ness in some areas of the discs, yea its been storded in a "dry" garage, by the inverted commers, i mean a garage that does leak in some areas so there would be moisture in the garage. will take it easy until they clear up
  10. whats up with your user name too budd?
  11. no i dont beleive so, i changed them on a dry day a few months ago. im pritty sure they were ok when i put them on, it was months ago & i only drove it round the block. i have noticed this happens on other cars ive had, when left for a few weeks the brakes initially scrape/sound for a few miles, wondering why this happens, and will it sort itself out on the supra, or do i have to strip, clean & re-fit the pads or do something to the discs?
  12. i put my car in my garage for the winter, now that the summer is on the scene, so is time for the Supra before i put it in the garage, i changed the rear pads (brand new) as they were getting low . all was fine when i tested them, no noises etc. ive got the car out, ive only driven 1 or 2 miles, each time i press the brakes the rears sound asif there is no pad left, thats the noise. (yes the pads were fitted the correct way not backwards ) how long will it take for the brakes to quiet themselves down? and why do they make a noise after not being used? are UK spec brakes
  13. hmm yea its making full boost, but you can also make full boost with a boost leak. your turbos will just be working extra hard to produce the boost. i think i have a tiny leak somewhere in the engine/vacuums. il get a video up next week when i bring the car out for the summer
  14. usually WD40 frees things up, try that
  15. it was only boosting to 0.5 bar when i was putting air into the engine, from a compressor, to do the boost test. ive been out in the car today, the car drives fine it boosts to over 1 bar boost, and the 1st & second turbos come online when they should. holds boost, doesnt feel like a boost leak. but its just making a hissy/whistle, loud spooling noise when the 1st turbo comes online. ive got the BOV working & sounding correct again (i had the vacuum for it Td into the boost controller vacuum, not on its own) as the car is boosting fine, and the second turbo is coming in fine, i think the noise maybe coming from the intake manifold side, or a vacuum, or idle valve etc. ill have a play about with it next week to sort. im still worried though that the hissy whistle noise maybe making the 1st turbo overwork & go bang
  16. im going to have a look at it tomorrow, ive been speaking to Nevins, the reason why the dump valve isnt sounding is because the vacuum is T'd into the boost controller, he thinks the sound is a vacuum issue rather than boost leak, im guna have a butchers at it tomo and resolve it hope
  17. im on the train now. if u can wait til later il try show you. just look at the manifold at the back, the part which is nearest to the firewall there is a thin rubber pipe which omes from that. you just remove that and plumb your new vacuum to that you should remove and bung up the stock bov, its on the other side and looks like a ufo lol its about 1inch in diameter with 2 large rubber pipes coming from and one small vacuum
  18. no you got that the wrong way round. always use on exhausts, paste just crumbles off as the exhaust moves. dude was refering to not using a gasket where the turbo meets the manifold
  19. goes to the intake manifold bud :-) on the back of the manifold by the firewall side there is a take off that goes all the way round the back of the ebgine to where the stock bov is. just use this as you wouldnt be using the stock bov anymore. that is 2jz at least i think you are 1jz arnt you. but regardless it needs a feed from the intake manifold
  20. check the intercooler pipes aswell as the vacuums. if u sort it post up what it was :-)
  21. hi mate, ive had my manifold & throttle body off to recently, that looks like its from the brace that goes from the manifold to the bottom of the engine. check also the braces that go inside the manifold to where the fuel injectors are.
  22. hia mate, i have removed my air con pump too, ive got the old bolts that kept it on (5 in total?) i only used 2 of them to put my brace back on, so i THINK i have spare left overs up my garage. i can see if they are there which your welcome to have, if not i can remove my 2 bolts there and measure them up for you. this will be on satuarday when i go up my garage though
