  1. Jp just sugested the innertube trick. I said il try that. Dude says he has the car on axle stands, nobody mocks that. When the noise occurs on negative boost, i mean when driving and the boost gauge is just under 0 edit: im pritty sure it was making the noise before 0, maybe it was just on zero or sllightly over. Il report back with exact figures sat...
  2. I knew everyone would say all the coments which they did lol thaught others may have tried. Scott it cant be heard when stationary, only when driving on negative boost. Jp, its more of a whistle than a boost leak. Like turbo spool noise but louder Il have a good look over it and make a boost leak tester too im surr il find it. Will report back after ive worked on it satuarday as im up gloucester all week
  3. Ye im guna go for it, people use axle stands all the time and they dont just fall off will be going slow just to locate the leak. Will report back to let you know wher leak is. If i have any suspision it is likely to fall off obv i wont do it
  4. Hmm. Well the noise occurs on negative boost doesnt have to be on lots of boost. Just needs a slow run. As long as someone is in the seat controlling and the car is on axle stands firmly i should be ok. Probably just do more looking into while all wheels on the ground :-)
  5. Just a thaught, got an air/boost leak on car. Cant hear it when staitionary, car has to be moving. Hard to pin point where is whilst im driving on the road. Just jad a thaught, putting the car on axle stands at the rear. Then starting the car and doing a slow rev and low boost run, while someone does this from the drivers seat i can pinpoint the leak under the bonnet. Wouldnt be doing anything like a 6th gear max boost run. I just have a leak which can be heard in 1st gear on low boost (maybe even a vacuum leak) does this seem ok to do or is it un.safe and going to fall off the axle stands some how. Maybe a good an easy way to source leaks. I have a flame suit on ready just incase :-)
  6. Might be worth adding to try the tipex test on the crank pulley before buying anything else. Can be hard to pin point a noise sometimes.
  7. Thats the maximum boost it reaches then isit? I.mean it doesnt go any higher when ur 4th gear example. 1.2 should be the maximum thats all. Which is fine. Boost gauge should be fine pluged into same vacuum as the bov too.
  8. Gaskets are made for a reason. Its like saying if you have a brand new exhaust i dont nwed to use a gasket as the both metal faces are perfect. Aa above just get the correct gasket. Cheapest, easiest, best way :-)
  9. isnt that ryan g's car, you bought it did you? didnt know it was for sale even
  10. very old repost there mate lol heres a guide, http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/blitz_dsbc/index.html most of them are all the same principal. this helps too
  11. removing the pump you have to de-gass it, remove the piping & air con rad. then theres a few torx bolts to remove the pump. get a short belt from ebay £10 you must make a brace then though to support it (just a metal bar, nice and strong) like this....
  12. that "garden hose" is actually an oil pipe,, but usually used for catch tanks/breather systems etc
  13. yep me too asuming you are an R33 GTS-T, with R34 front end on car?
  14. unwanted sounds are a pain in the arse delete the air con
  15. have u done a tipex test on the crank pulley?
  16. scott check the link on first page, high resolution pics are there, will try a seperate vacuum for the bov and put a propper bung on the return.. as said im away working til next week so il have another look at it then.. :-) thanks for coments will update all when im back
  17. lol ok scott i will block that properly, but it was like that before. will get that blocked & soapy water test. and maybe remove all the IC pipes and refit...
  18. pics of vacuums are here, http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?258831-Been-spraying-the-sequential-turbo-pipes- i have removed the dump valve and the noise is still there, it was here though.. (normal place) i have blocked off the return, but only with gaffa tape & small jubilee clip, as it doesnt have high pressure out of it, and i used to have this before. only thing diffirent i ran with the dv this time, was using the vacuum from T piece on the boost controller? would this casue a noise though? the 1st & 2nd turbo are coming in when supost to? like a kettle hissy whistle thanks for input, im affraid i cant see the car again until a week satuarday as im working away :/
  19. no mate its not like a meaw or an eek. its a high pitch whistle, noise comes on quite early, doesnt need to be making posotive boost. it must be a leak somewhere, iv no idea where though, will have to take all the IC pipes off and on again. its obvuus that area as it was fine before, just thaught that i had maybe connected the vacuums wrong, can anyone clarify that the vacuums wont effect the sound? what about if i put into TTC mode would that determine anything?
  20. ive just removed the dump valve and its still making the noise. the turbos are both coming in when suppost to, and boosting properly. just the whistling boost leak sound anyone any ideas?
  21. class i had real fun doing mine, when you peal off all the masking is the best part glad to help
