  1. All current interest and scales point to an August event Marcus, so it should work out pretty well for us all. We should be in the height of the summer, and the daylight should be lasting the longest, with a nice sunset or two to usher us to our diggs each night .
  2. Sounds brilliant Marcus . Just need to see if the hotel option is going to be reasonable as I'm sure a few peeps might like the option, and if its cost effective then bonus. I have looked into the route that Professor X sent me, look's like a little stop at Eilean Donan is on the cards, Calendar contenders at the ready
  3. Brilliant bud, I have added you to the list . Nice bit of red to break up the pack
  4. . Opinions guys, how do you all feel about camping out for one of the nights, potential for a barbecue and some refreshments

    Hey from Norway

Welcome, nice looking car you have there
  6. I'm free on the 15th also
  7. Logie with regards to the bay loom, did this also get changed? Could there be any nicks in the wiring? When you flick your lights on, so the interior and dial lights illuminate?
  8. Excellent mate, looks brilliant. Potentially going, date dependant: 1) SPG 2) Marcus
  9. Hi People, I am working with a couple of members in order to created an epic road trip for this coming Summer. We are looking to incorporate the spirit of last years DragonCol, which certainly planted the seed for a longer event which will see participants driving the very best of Scotland's roads. The Event is likely to last for a weekend, beginning on the Friday and running through to the Sunday. The route is still in the planning stages, but MKIV's very own Dr Xavier (Tony) is hopefully going to succumb to my compliments and gifts, in order to help us map out an awesome route which will include, Applecross & Skye to name a few. I am going to be working on the accommodation side of things, in order to ensure safe parking and decent rest for members and their Cars. Hopefully I should be able to patch together a rough estimate in the week ahead, for accommodation at least, then a better understanding should be clear when we have finalised the route. This thread is to get an idea of interest, and any Idea's on locations etc are more than welcome. We have had a fair number of new members joining so this would be a great opportunity to get to know everyone and hopefully set a president for meets in the future. That's enough from me, feel free to throw some suggestion out . Hi all

    Hi and Welcome Kev
  13. I certainly agree with you on the IAT's, and also a dyno reading would have also been a good idea. Pressure building on the rear of a SMIC is also eliminated by the vent in the wheel arch that Toyota designed to stop this build up, but also it send some air through to help with rotor cooling . Also, put a FMIC through a wind tunnel and see whether ducting makes a difference to flow.
  14. I don't mean to be rude, but were you born without lips?
  15. I have tested a fair few different brands: ETS GReddy 2row Blitz LM Spec Miami GT (SMIC) CW (SMIC) HKS Type R Stock SMIC To name a few, all on the same car, all running BPU, and as I stated, all ran better than the stock corroded Unit, but who figured right . I found all the FMIC units and SMIC unit suitable and worked well with the BPU setup, I will also mention though, that the car felt more responsive when I ducted the FMIC, and the difference between a CW unit and the Greddy FMIC was very noticeable. As I stated, at BPU either will work fine, but id rather stick to a CW SMIC, as it's been by far the best unit of the lot.
  16. For BPU a SMIC is best, no debates, it's just a fact. I have used many vary unit over the years, including a whole host of exotic branded items, the SMIC especially one with an up rated core such as a CW SMIC will be much more efficient and will make use of the correct ducting in order to direct the airflow directly onto the cores face. FMIC use a far wider surface area, many cheap Intercoolers use cheap cores with poor design, and usually do not have a great end tank design to boot. FMIC should also be ducted in order to direct flow into the core, but there are very few items on the market that offer this within their product design and production. BPU will see you running 1-1.3bar under normal circumstances, so the SMIC is well within it capability to offer a well rounded setup. Anything will seem better than a 20 year old stock unit though.
  17. Just checked, certainly is a B-series casing . Hmmm what to do with my Large cased UK Auto diff setup
  18. Thanks chaps . Looks like I have a bit of an oddity, where the LSD is concerned. I will be changing the fluid soon, so will confirm whether it is in fact a large cased diff I have.
  19. Okay so it is very possible that I have misread the link, but it looks to me as though the VVTi cars were in fact fitted with A03b small case LSD's. My 1998 TT6 has B03b stamped on the vin, hence the question. As I said, I may well have misread the link.
  20. Thank you David, great link .
  21. Hi Guys, Basically my understanding of the LSD's used in TT6 VVTi Supra's, was that they ran A03b small case manual LSD's. I thought it was the Pre-VVTi cars that ran large cased B03b LSD's. Can anyone one confirm that the above is true?
  22. I'm sure there is another Scots-Asian member, but I can't remember his name.....come on Sunny,it's not that hard. Certainly a friendly bunch
