  1. Rob, I would go with the 5 stud cam gears if your wanting to run any big numbers mate! (Titan, etc!) I also use custom JE pistons in my skyline and they are very "slappy" when cold compared to the CP jobbies but never the less an excellent piston and very tough!
  2. Col, pm sent fella..... Cheers Stu
  3. I sold a 600x300x100 to a friend of mine a few weeks back (well known guy on here btw! and his comments were that the intercooler worked fine but it was not a big power car, so to read between the lines it was good "bang for buck" cooler for what he needed!! HTH!
  4. I was told that the parts used in the turbo's were basically not very good, but i cannot confirm this from personal experience as i have never used or traded the turbo's, however i have traded a few of the intercoolers (the ones i had were made in china which is the same as XS yes??) and have had some very good feedback from a few members on this board! Cheers
  5. I have found that the xs branded (or equivalent) intercoolers and copy w/g parts are o.k but i have been warned big style to "stay away" from the turbo's! I am not trying to start contraversy but just repeating what i was told....(my a good mate btw who i trust implicitly!)...Just wanted to share my info.....

Mark the car you last saw had a full race engine fitted by Ron Kiddell (runs 9.4 in his!) and is doing very well thanks and can easily keep up with other liners thanks! Its just that i dont publicise my runs etc with any of my cars...If the event was not aimed at the tuners now! and like jake said it is a joke really as there should be a seperate catergory/class for a "privateer" then i would have maybe considered representing the club in my supe!!

Should be drive your car there compete and then drive your car home! Which is my interpretation of a "street car" and absoloutley NO TRAILERS! I dont own a trailer and also use mine for work! The buck stops with the organisers as they set the rules, and i dont bother with it anymore because of it NOT being for the true enthusiast which is a real real shame IMHO!!!..... Sorry but my 2p on the subject...
  8. Yeah can you sort me a price pls Nic! Have tried the HKS one from the skyline but the bloody thing wont tighten down properly! Cheers fella.... I'll come back to you on the 1.1bar cap imi if i dont get sorted with the 1.3 option, thanks very much for the offer btw... Stu
  9. I am after a 1.3bar cap for a fluidyne rad please! If anyone can help please i have cash waiting! Cheers Stu:D
  10. I have details for 2 companies that i will dig out and post up tomorrow! But tbh the blanket is better and more cost effective IMHO!
  11. They seem to love the big BOV setups in the US chris, or is that just there mentality? As they do have some seriously powerful cars over that side of the pond! Hhmm maybe dusty or Jarrett may want to comment?? I had a Big Turbosmart BOV on my track skyline and tbh did not notice any diff exept the noise of course!
  12. Nice example there col.... Always will have a soft spot for white examples!
  13. It is either a pearl or metallic but it looks luuurverly on the promo pic's i have seen of the car! The paint of course would look 10 times better on a supe anyway! heehee! I will try and dig out some more info.......
  14. Also audi are doing a rather tasty black now on there brand new RS6!! A £2k-£3k (ish) bill for a colour change is a bit steep especially if you wanting more ooooomph as well!
  15. The question of colour changes has always made me wonder if it actually increases or decreases the value of our supe's?? I suppose a lot of it is down to the colour chosen for the car! But has anyone changed from say red, to flip job or another "different" colour and actually seen the value of the car increase or at least recouped the costs of the spray job?? On the windows out i can only comment on one car i saw done which was dale's (boneyard) and marty who painted the car for him did a full windows out etc etc for him and it came back a luuurverly job!
  16. Advantage is not getting oil all over the subframe etc when doing the change! A good place is behind one of the front wheel covers then it is a simple turn the wheel onto lock and unscrew! BTW I use PE filters but i got a "batch" of them, but the toyota one's are excellent as well!
  17. I always thought that the bottom end's were bulletproof as well tbh! (Easily good for 700bhp).I have also experience of the front and rear seals failing even with my GENTLE right foot!! *cough* On the breather issue i have always had the "old school" approach of 2 feeds to a breather tank or breather filters attached to the outlets on the rocker covers!! So what advantages is there to the other setups please?? Stu
  18. I am sure i read something a while back about a duratec engine in a drag car in america making some serious power, (well over 1000+ bhp), and to think everyone used to go mad over the "2.0 red-tops" once over! I can only think of the trusty civic's (ef/eg versions)for matching the nova's in the power/weight race.

    Acetone

Mass spec could sort a sample of optimax etc NP! Leave it with me! For usage i can go through a 25 litre drum in a weekend hooniing around in the cars!

    Acetone

Acetone like methanol would be better if "pre-mixed" with the fuel before being added rather than poured in before or after petrol, and tbh i have been told by my chemists here at work (i work for ici) to "if in doubt stay well clear":( I have also done some testing here on our mass spec machine with different combo's of fuel (starting with ultimate, and tesco 99), and have come up with a mixture which contains some cancergenic gear incl toluene, but no acetone! (as toly is also a very good inj cleaner..)... The reason i started playing around was because of the cost of race fuel such as C16 etc....
  21. I have 2 Blitz powermeter id's for sale if anyone is interested. One is black with blue screen and the other is silver with green screen, they are both in excellent working order and have only been tested in the car to make sure they work ok! but i have now changed my mind! Looking for £110 each pls (incl postage (retail @ £185+ VAT) Thanks:D
  22. Really like that red car! yummy! Can you buy the wings with the cut outs already in them please off the shelf and if so where? Thanks
  23. I also have this pipework if you get stuck mate! Stu
  24. There is already a skyline running around with these VNT turbo's on it, and preliminary results look rather interesting! A mate of mine who owns a turbo company said "they are the way forward for sure".... It goes back to the old style setup of 360 degree bearings etc but a lot more techy obviously.
