  1. Nice car, reminds me of one I saw in Tokyo yesterday: Was a very big single. Turned a lot of heads and looked very, very cool in the centre of Tokyo.
  2. No looting either. Not that you even need a disaster for an excuse to loot in Manchester... I love it here. The UK have sent planes if we want to leave... at £600 a pop to only as far as Hong Kong. Does nobody realise that we subject our bodies to more radiation from flying at altitude than we would do 80km from this buggered nuclear plant? I am never paying a license fee again. My heart goes out to those affected, and still affected, by the tsunami a week ago today.
  3. It's nothing like Chernobyl, it won't blow up and be like a dirty bomb. It's disgusting (the reporting). My parents are worried sick constantly, whilst I am going about my daily life here in Tokyo and going to the office each day. Have a read: http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/shortsharpscience/2011/03/japan-megaquake-update.html https://morgsatlarge.wordpress.com/2011/03/13/why-i-am-not-worried-about-japans-nuclear-reactors/
  4. Nice post Animal, that's right. Loathing the BBC right now
  5. I made it to the office, but walked half of the way! No powercuts yet.... just about to have some lunch. Where are you based, Nick?
  6. People concerned about nuclear reactors should read this: http://liten.be//2B7Oa There are many ill-informed comments sweeping the internet (as usual), and even the BBC. The Earthquake in Tokyo was the largest that anyone at m workplace has ever felt; and the duration far outlasted normal earthquakes. I wasn't particularly scared during it (kind of exciting and if the building collapses I can't do much anyway), but the buildings are made to such high spec that basically everything was fine. It's the tsunami that wiped out whole fishing villages up north that was the real problem here I hope Japan makes a swift recovery. It's still unreal.
  7. The headline you won't be reading: "Millions saved in Japan by good engineering and government building codes". Buts it's the truth.
  8. Thanks for the email Gaz, & the MSN Martin Yeah, that is my office. I walked home, Charlie got a lift in a car (we normally both take the trains). I recorded the seismic data felt in my office in Tokyo. It was the scariest feeling and also rather exciting at the same time. Pure adrenalin. Nothing like being in a single turbo supra, as you can lift off at any time. With this type of thing, you are at complete mercy. http://cl.ly/2L3i0a0r1u3S0R3N1J1Q/zishin.jpg EDIT: Nuclear evacuation in Fukushima now...
  9. Great article Honestly, the BBC is full of such horseshit, it's as bad as the Mail, Sun and the rest of them.
  10. If I had the money I would take an Aston to the shops.... Basically, as others have said it is a car and doesn't need to be babied, just serviced and looked after. I enjoyed pootling around in mine, long weekend drives and everything in between. It is what you make from it. My NA was lovely and I enjoyed just sitting in that seat, with the 'cockpit' feel and the way it made me feel as a driver.
  11. It's an excellent head-fuck of a film (IMO).
  12. I'd buy this if I wasn't the other side of the world. Great car. GLWTS.
  13. Yeah, they were basically all seeders. I was late to the party The 50MBs upload is great... gaming, skype video and file transfers to the UK... it's really nice to have!
  14. https://img.skitch.com/20110221-qqiithai2ers6p2c36yixmf4a.jpg
  15. No Scott, no restrictions Actual unlimited uploads and downloads... it's a crazy speed. Video/gaming/Torrenter's dream!
  16. Interesting to read and I can see your point. NA was better on fuel for your uses? How else did you prefer driving the NA?

    Crashed

Didn't mean to sound negative; I hope it's a quick, painless and not too expensive repair!
  18. Lovely looking car. When she's all-white she'll really look the part. Nice work on the stereo and the headlights.

Count me in with the doubters! Though I also don't doubt that there is indeed a lot of shit on the UK roads (I'd eat my dinner off most roads in Japan, however...), I never once had the back step out. Yes, it was an NA and yes, I drive like an old woman, but I really think that it's driver error here. I only ever read about these "oil spills" on sports car forums, usually with relatively new drivers or friends of friends...
  20. When I come back to the UK, this is exactly the type of car I will be after. Fantastic.
  21. Someone needs to buy this at least to preserve it. What an example. GLWTS and if I could, I'd buy that. But I can't! Living in Tokyo makes it impossible!
  22. Nah, it's my home connection. I live in Japan now (look at server location). Costing £15/month with free national calls (in Japan - so pretty useless to me at the moment!)
