  1. Eh, non-standard fitting!? They use the standard R134a type adaptors, the low pressure side is slightly smaller than the high side. Any other car I’ve looked at that takes R134a by design uses the same sort of adaptor. You can buy the adaptors from these people if you need to: HRP Online
  2. I'll be there, before 10:30 too I hope!
  3. Does anyone know if the service valves (specifically the low pressure valve) can be replaced on the aircon system? They “look like” tyre pressure valves, though I guess they are specialist items. Can hey just be removed using a tyre valve key and replaced? If so then where could I get some from, Toyota don’t even sell the low pressure service valve cap without thr rest of the pipe (according to my local dealer). Cheers, Richard
  4. I'd like to try and make this, I'll do my best! Heckler MRB FisherJohn Secondjump defcom Shhhmity apoc_reg Oxygene (light pencil) Darren Blake Terminator (Slightly darker than light pencil, trying to reschedule work rota’s) RichardHarmon (light pencil also)
  5. Was a good meet, nice to see it isn't dead after all Sorry I had to rush off but I'm up to my eyeballs in curry now!
  6. Yep, I'll be helping to prop up the bar.
  7. I had the same problem, a set of plugs from Chris Wilson sorted it.
  8. I'll be there, I'll try to be on time too!
  9. Yes, afraid so! I had to change mine not too long back. Best thing to do is to get stuck in. When I changed mine, I found that Toyota had altered the design of the new switch and you need a smaller socket for the new one, had to go out and buy another long reach socket. Before you remove the AC and power steering pump, make a note of the path the serpentine belt takes around the pulleys, I didn’t and had to work it out afterwards. The easiest thing to do is just take all the mounting bolts (and one nut if I remember) off both pumps and just move them out of the way, no need to disconnect hoses or anything. After moving the pumps you should be able to get to the switch from the top. I looked at it for ages before deciding it was just going to be easier to take these bits off. I found it could be a bit of a sod lining up the bolt holes afterwards, thread all the bolts in loosely before tightening any of them, I found that if you tighten one before putting another one in they don’t line up correctly. Didn’t take too long when I got stuck in, pretty easy job really I would say.
  10. Another thought then, have you checked your fuel rail pressure is what it should be, it's not way too high? Though I guess the closed loop system should take care of that situation?
  11. I’m prepared to be shot down in flames for this suggestion, but since no one has mentioned it! Could it be something as simple as a sticking injector? If it is sticking open sometimes that could account for rough idle, bad cruise and lack of symptoms under higher engine load (because it’s open for longer anyway so the effect of sticking is less noticeable)? Anyway that was just a thought I had while reading the thread, probably nonsense, just had to get it off my chest.
  12. Well, I took all the hoses off and behold the hose that goes from the EGCV VSV to the actuator had a hole in it, it wasn’t visible until I took the hose off and stretched it about. Anyway I’ve given it a thorough road test and it seems to be working fine now, yay! Thanks to everyone who helped on this matter, finding out where all the pipes go has been quite useful I think, much appreciated!
  13. Yes, Ant, James and I did get there but not until about quarter past ten! Sorry we were so late and missed you.
  14. The full address is: Ferryboat Inn Holywell St. Ives Cambridgeshire PE27 4TG Multimap Follow the signs for Needingworth, when you actually get to Needingworth, coming in from the west side, the turning to Holywell is on the right, there is a signpost, from memory I think it's opposite the road you want (so the sign is on the left). Edit: The pub is on the right hand corner of that little ring road thing, marked "Inn" on Multimap's 25,000 scale map. Hope this is of some use.
  15. Anthony, James and myself will all be in attendance.
  16. I'll see if I can't drum up a couple more people.
  17. Have you had a look at the mkiv.com site? Check out "THE COMPLETE 93-95 ELECTRICAL MANUAL" 93/94/95 MKIV TT
  18. That's interesting, my yellow hose didn't even hiss when I took it off, after testing. Looks like your pressure tank holds way better than mine. Does anyone know where the T-junction marked on the attached picture actually lives on the car?
  19. Thanks for that Ian. The yellow highlighted hose it the one I used to measure the pressure-tank pressure levels and yes, blowing down that one is spongy. I will give those other tests a try tomorrow in the daylight. It looks like it’s probably going to be either a leaking hose (that I missed visually) or the VSV then, doesn’t sound too bad!
  20. Thanks, I'll keep on prodding it until I find something. Any other tests you can think of would be much appreciated. Richard.
  21. By the way, does anyone know if this problem can cause any damage?
  22. Thanks Ian - What do you make fo the pressure readings I'm getting from the pressure tank (first post), any thoughts on that?
  23. I tried blowing down the pip ein the picture, couldn't. Was hoping that was it! Is that the line that goes to the pressure tank input then?
