Wouldnt the insurance company tell them its an import not a UK spec? I can see this ending up rarther badly, they wouldnt know unless it was wrote off and they asked for the logbook.

The ad says its UK spec. But as you said, they might have lied. Cheap insurance for the buyer - but potentially means they are unisured ...very bad form by the traders of which we do not speak..!
