  1. I have both fine and course compound, no matter which one I use, I still have some small spots... quite annoying to don't have it perfect
  2. I have started lapping the valves, but i can't get a perfect surface. There are some very small dark spots on the valves contact surface. I have done a leakage test and it was good---- no leakage Should I grind the valves even more?
  3. Thanks for the tips Chris! I will fix that!
  4. I had take some photos of the problem. the lobs hits the head like this other side so it has be machined something like this to make clearance( this was grinded by hand and it will be machined later on, just want to make an ide how i am thinking) Will the buckets still not move to much in the side when i rev 8000 after this machining? Its a lot of machining, specielly one of the sides! (that one closest to the intake)
  5. it will be awsome if you had some photos of it! Then I will take the head to my work and machine it Thanks alot!
  6. it's the lobes chris I didn’t know the English word for it.... Now i know
  7. Full Race: BC0303 Giant lift profile for ultimate RPM. Full race motor running race fuel. Tuning ECU mods required. Requires kit BC0300. Shimless buckets & cylinder head clearancing required.
  8. Thanks guys! Just have to solve the problem with the cylinder head clearance to Bc280, is has to be machined a lot...
  9. unfortunately it was some layer of oil on the camera for some pictures but i will post them anyway. Try to show this by with a step by step procedure Checking the rings position according to the manual To new home for the pistons All in Time for installing the rod bearings. I measure the arp bolt before torque, Unfortunately i don't have the spreadsheet for the moment but I will update this post later on with it. It was around 50,40mm Oil Checking clearance. torque Measuring the clearance and torque again. After 6 times it will look like this To see how it looks with the head on I have also received a package from the UK Did put this one as well with my nuclear piece Time for polish back to the wall until summer 2013
  10. someone who runs 2800 cams that have fix the clearance to the head?
  11. Not for how to fix the grinding to the head just valves clearance
  12. I have bought BC 289 cams and to fit them I need to fix the clearance. Have anyone ideas or pictures about this? Seems to a lot of grinding or machining. I measure the standard clearance for the cams to the head and it was around 3mm. Is the minimum measure for how close it can be? Need some help for this issue
  13. I have read some regarding the stock cylinder head gasket will handle 1000hp on the hub. There are a lot of people running hks gasket on lower hp. Opinion ? Stock or HKS? without shooting over the target. HKS should always be the best choice. Will stock handle 1000hp?
  14. I am for the moment( 1 ½ year?) totally overloaded with work with nuclear projects and they never end so the progress of the supra built is taking a big hit for this. But one of my guys did this one for me...
  15. Yes some minor progress. But for the moment i am totally overloaded with projects on the nuclear plants, and this will also reflect the design of my engine..... but i will make a small update soon Now i am waiting for you to update
  16. sound great but i am not sure the pistons will not touch the cylinder walls i hope
  17. What was suppose not to happen, happen anyway. When I installing my piston something happened and it was a scratch from the bottom of the piston until the bottom piston ring. The scratch is not wide but you can feel it and see it very clear. How bad is this??? should I smooth it out a little bit with 700 sandpaper? It seems that the scratch is from the ring compression tool...in the tool it is a metal end and I tight it all around the piston it then just knocked it down a little bit with a wood hammer. http://biltema.se/sv/Bil---MC/Verktyg-och-Verkstadsutrustning/Motor/Kolvringskompressor-191330/ Sorry for no pic...
  18. yes ring groove are the word for it. I have 4 but only 3 rings so why is it a 4 grooves?
  19. I don't know if gap is the correct word... hmm
