  1. Jurgen- is it a civic type r? Accord type r? To be honest its out of my price range. Jamie- I almost bought a non sti ra last year but I had unbelievable trouble insuring it sensibly. Most wanted over 2k. Think its cos its an impreza. Theres that stigma attached. I'd never considered an octavia. I dont have a problem with them being skodas i have a problem with them being taxi's lol. What engine is in the vrs? Is it a fast diesel like the fabia?
  2. Alright guys, Im considering selling up. What cars would you recommend with more than 200bhp, 4 seats (useable for children, need a bit more room than the Supra) that are fairly recent and available for around £5000 (preferably less). Ive been considering E46 BMW 330s and maybe a mega high mileage S4. Or even the S6 thats been tempting me on Pistonheads.
  3. Took it to the mechanics today, cant find anything wrong with it. Drives like a dream now! Strange.
  4. Cheers mate! Think i might look into this a bit more!
  5. Obviously your experience of performance cars is different to mine but how do the 540s drive? Do they have a lsd? Any chance of wet roundabout fun? I get about 260 miles to £50 of tesco 99 in the supra, how would a 540 compare?
  6. On the brink of falling out with the supra again... Kinda fancy a V8 E39. Anyone have any experience of the E39s? How they drive etc? Obviously I cant afford an M5. Performance etc compared to an N/A?...
  7. I feel guilty if the auto box kicks down into 2nd when Ive got the kids in the back!!!
  8. Anyone? Cash waiting and car broken...
  9. The linkage seems fine. No play or damage...... New box time?
  10. Looks good. Veilside bumpers can only get better. Go for it!
  11. Anyone's insurance gone up when changing from auto to manual? Cheers James
  12. Someone on here has them and their ones have a grey fade effect on them... Wheelmanias?...
  13. Aha cheers mate. Ill try again this weekend.
  14. Oh my god its gone mouldy while you replaced the heater matrix!!!! Only jesting, looks good mate. I had a flocked Audi TT dash in my Golf and it was the bollocks. Hope you did the heater matrix while it was out. you could finish it off with a tasty suede-ish steering wheel.
  15. Update! Its dying to go forwards in all gears when revved. Including park and neutral. So Im thinking its the linkage. The car was previously Cat D so Im thinking something must have got shunted in the bump thats only just loosened....
  16. Dipped the fluid and it was between notches 3 and 4 (4 being highest). Ill try again when its stone cold. Its got all forward gears and drove like a dream all the way home from work tonight (b roads). Including reversing out of a parking space.
  17. Any ideas? No symptoms other than no reverse occasional late catching of gears. Is it low transmission fluid or is the torque converter ruined? Its a 93 n/a with no traction control or anything like that. Cheers!
  18. Thanks! Im actually with Admiral so thats a good idea ellis
  19. My Dads struggling to get sensible insurance on the MX5 with me on it (mainly cos Im not 25 for another 10months) but Im currently driving a Supra in my name and have 3 years claim free driving... Anyone to recommend? Tried Adrian Flux, Aon, Sky, a few more. The MX5 he's looking at is a UK car. Cheers!
  20. Paint it white or bronze to blend with the wheel colour, OR!!! Trim it in blue leather with some padding inside it.
  21. Woo! Its the future. I wouldnt mind the steering wheel being closer to me but on the times Ive got the kids in the back there wouldnt be enough room.
  22. One of my previous cars was down as a petrol when it was a diesel. It was changed no problem. It can be done but Im not sure of the ins and outs of it
  23. I suppose you'll have the same trouble I did, the wheel will sit too far towards you.
