    Bloody Bolt

Hi, This has been covered a fair few times. You're best locking it off with a tool shown in the cambelt change. Get a breaker bar on the bolt with a good socket, make sure its flush and drop a 5 foot bit of scaffold over the top as a sleeve. This should give you enough torque to get it off! Take your bonnet off if it gets in the way. If this doesn't work, weld a socket on and go that way. Have Fun!
  2. Sorry to hear about this buddy, give me a shout on that old engine if you want rid of it
  3. Standard steering wheel. Three spoke so no airbag. Not the best condition but if anyone wants a spare or to go back to stock it ok. £15 + shipping or collection. Offers Too!
  4. Black bumper for sale, stock pre-facelift. No lip or indicators. Have a gold badge to go with it. £40 + shipping or collection. Offers accepted too. Cheers Guys
  5. Agreed. The TT conversion is alot better and will save you alot more. These 'bolt on' kits will definately need some form of modification to get them fitted properly. Get a TT motor in, its alot easier and opens up the path for big power later on!
  6. I believe Envy do a service pack of some sort, they definately list service items. Ask Paul (Whifbitz) too or maybe Steve Manley as he can get genuine parts at discount price for the club.
  7. Brilliant finale, really was!
  8. Yes would sell the front seperate. Its not brand named, it will fit a Nur-Spec but doesn't come with a ring.
  9. Nope not sold, especially for that price!
  10. I agree, I wont be able to sleep for a while now
  11. Id recommend uprating internals if thinking about significantly uprating power, thus giving you a rebuild and a bit more confidence in the motor. As said, with good service history and a decent test you should get a good indication on the motors health.
  12. Thanks Nic, great help bud!
  13. Thanks Chris, you're a real help. Much appreciated.
  14. Right, I may have found a crank, its from an NA though. Can this be used in the TT block?
  15. Hi, De-cats for sale. First and second for J-Spec TT. Not sure how many miles but look good. Second sold. Thanks FIRST STILL AVAILABLE! £80 DELIVERED
  16. Anyone have a crank available? Maybe left over from a stroker conversion? Must be mint, stock, never ground or polished etc. Thanks
  17. Hi, I have my Superdragger for sale. Just took it off the car, not my cup of tea. Its in good condition and is the Type I with smaller backbox. Pipework ok and all hangers ok too. Stainless box, mild pipework. Its a couple of years old but looks good. Offers for this as I haven't seen any sell. I roughly have a ballpark figure. Receipt of purchase for this too. Thanks.
  18. Id probably stick with a standard oil pump, with the plans in mind I wouldn't need to upgrade it to be honest. Ill get those pictures up and hopefully catch a bit more detail with them.
  19. Cheers Chris, I know it probably would be easier to get a new engine but Ive got this far now and am in no real rush for the car back so will probably continue along this route. Can you expand on why new rods would be needed? Also, the cylinders are still covered in oil and carbon etc so dont look the best, especially when I take pictures from beneath! Ill get some better pictures up for a good verdict. I know it needs a proper measure really. Are oversized rings available for stock pistons? Maybe utilize stock pistons once again? Thanks
  20. Got the rest of the motor stripped tonight, its not completely in pieces but enough to let me see what's occuring. The head came off easy, needed to buy a huge allen key socket to get the head bolts off though. The cylinder walls aren't really scorn (pics) so I hopefully I don't need a rebore and new pstons. Took the sump off after that and lots of shavings were gathered around the edge and in the remaining oil. Looks to be of a brassy/copper colour but might just be coloured from the oil. Lots of shavings on the filter and oil plate. Took one rod apart to see the big end bearing it was faded and worn. The crank doesnt look bad, that was just one rod though, still five to go! Is the sump meant to be joined with sealant as the gasket or is there a proper gasket for it? Also there was sealant around the bottom joint of the block (where the sump bolts to).
  21. Isn't Bi-Hex just a normal socket but with ridges, not flats. Halfrauds are never any help
  22. 10mm mate. You can get brake pipe spanners which are like ring spanners but with a section cut out, this is where the brake pipe goes through and then it pushes down over the nut.
  23. Another update. I started tonight by removing the rest of the water piping which goes around the back of the engine and also the water pump remainders. I then went on to remove the upper turbo pipings and all the connectors there. Then the turbos themselves came off at the manifold, bolts were on good! And then finally then engine mounts, oil filter and everything off the outside of the head was stripped. Some pictures too!
