  1. So you did all of that and didnt bring back video.....
  2. So how do we go about having a similiar dash to your recent amber one with a few modification?
  3. Straight enough answer Damn the japanese and there thermal dynamic's theory for exhaust flow. Think duration is more important to the exhaust flow than lift thats for dam sure hence why staggered cams work a treat. Anyway back on topic
  4. You know i almost shed are tear at this story till i realised...
  5. On the subject of cams why is it everyone goes NUTS on the exhaust side in regards to lift on a stock porting job? My understanding from alot of reading up, research and speaking to some highly respected guys, is regardless what cams you throw in on the exhaust side, on an unported head, it fails to flow anymore air at about 8mm of lift so why would someone throw in such high lift cams on a stock head when theres nothing realy to be gained? Now i await to be proved wrong
  6. The stock 16s rock for comfort, grip and handling
  7. Well im thinking on booking a session with ryan and messing about with it to see what its doing and what can be improved on etc etc. Im quite intrigued by it although i wont be getting my hopes high but should be good to see what difference it can make
  8. A 3.6 stoker has only been theorised but never attempted due to the clearances being so small, whilst possible would cost the best part of 15k just for a one off and need to be built PERFECTLY with every clearance bang on so im calling BS on the 3.6 unless he can prove it
  9. Ok Mines have got back to me about what has actualy been done. Fuel mapping changed Ignition mapping changed Speed limiter cut Rev limit raised 600rpm's And its been fully mapped on 100 ron fuel so i suspect the only way to get the best out of it ill have to run it on V power or something. Soon find out when it gets here.
  10. I know the doors are fairly heavy piece and personaly i think you would be better off with a carbon/fibre glass door skin. You wouldnt believe how heavy door skins on old cars actualy are. Either that or i would be finding a way to make the original side impact bar work.
  11. You attach the compressor to your mains power supply. the rad refill kit connects to this via an air line. Very simple but very effective and saves you one hell of a headache trying to bleed your system.
  12. What it does is suck all the air out of the system, putting it in a state of vacuum, and then you refill it using the vacuum which leaves the system completely air free.
  13. Do yourself a favour, I recommend this to every supra owner, get yourself a small air compressor and a radiator refill kit and never have a problem with the heating ever again.
  14. I think a session with ryan would be a good idea to see what I can get out of mine if anything.
  15. I'm not expecting huge gains from it, that would be silly, infact the only reason I'm getting it is to see what difference it makes to how the car behaves. From what I've read from digging around looking for answers its suppose to deliver a much more potent power delivery with gains through the rev range. Ill know for sure once mines reply with the tuning aspects of it and when I actualy fit it.
  16. Good news mate Thinking of checking mine as it seems to be a touch lacking plus I'd like it to be as good as possible before I fit this mines ecu How did he check the timing? Timing light? I know the dizzy is adjustable but how do you go about doing it?

    Tyres

Well if you ever saw sted's car when he got his jade r on you will of seen how stretch the falkens were, that was a 265 on a 10" rim! Falken sizes are a bit smaller width wise than the premium brands.

Providing your rear wheels aint 10" wide they will be fine

I managed to get brand new for the fronts, 2 x T1Rs for £90 when there £110 each from camskill!
  20. The exhaust shaft on the j-specs is ceramic and the euro specs are steel
  21. Id run at about 30 max to be honest as the tyre pressure will most probly rise a good few psi as the tyre gets warmer.
  22. Offer has been accepted, ill report back when it arrives
  23. Wrong, its manual only and my bid is in
  24. I've been in the motor industry since school. I started off as a apprentice and as you would expect I was the bitch for a few years. Eventually I starting to work on cars properly firstly trying painting. I quite enjoyed it and it gave me great satisfaction when the job went well and then my skin to a rather odd reaction to the paint so I had to draw the line with that. Next up I tried panel beating. I stuck at this one for about 2 years but it became so boring after a while so then I switched to being a crash mechanic and I realy enjoyed this role purely because it was my sort of things, so I stuck at this one, got my NVQ's and started to move onto bigger roles. When I joined my current company my skills expanded greatly to the likes of suspension geometry and air conditioning. At that stage I'd earned my title role as an MET technician and I felt proud, good money, decent company and life skills but over the last 6 months things have gone down hill with all these new policy's, recognised standards within the industry, has resulted in huge amounts of papar work and crap which makes the job 10 times as difficult. As a result I slowly began to get real bored with it and have since totally lost interest in the job. I'm now 23 and heading back into education to find another path up the ladder to expand my skills furthermore and switch over to the engineering side of the industry. To some up, I used to be proud of it but now I hate it so there you have it
