Really simple process, Went to my local DVLA office at Bristol and it was all made easy for me. As ellis has already said, Buy it and pay your assignment fee, Or retention fee if you don't have a car for it yet, Either send it away with the details you need or go there direct to DVLA for quickness. I was concerned last year when i done mine, Couldn't believe how easy it was.

I owned mine for 4 years and only once was i left at the side of the road, And that was just due to a flat tyre on the way to Japfest, Still got there

Do it buddy, Driving such a lovely looking car at your age will be great. If possible try and take a local member with you to view them, One that knows a bit about these cars.
