  1. the lights went out after the click but came back on straight away, battery connection have been checked, if it does it again i will investigate further, but my dad recons could be the start of the solenoid failing, they can get crapped up inside and dont make full contact or something, he used to run a business reconditioning alternators and starters, many many moons ago;) i have bumped an auto before a 12L plymouth, was tough work:D lol dunno about supra tho:(
  2. mine did this about 5 times after my bump a couple of days ago, put it in gear and rocked it back and fourth abit and fired up straight away, its never done it before
  3. a thicker gasket will lower the compression ration, a lower compression engine can run more boost safely at the sacrifice of off boost performance, if your engine is mapped to run the standard head gasket thickness then increasing this would need it to be remapped, (not %100 sure if you absolutely have to) if you have plans to increase the bhp of the engine via a boost increase in the future, then future proof away ;)but a lower compression off boost will make it less responsive and i experienced a huge increase in fuel consumption (not a supe tho and i went from 10.9:1 to 8.2:1:D) iirc going from 1.2mm to 1.6mm on an Na brings the compression ration up to par with a tt block (waits to be corrected) and lowering the cr you would need to advance the timing, its been awhile since setting up the mini but i think thats how it was
  4. 1) turbo charged mini, built by me bought on my 17th still got it 3 1/2 years on 2) Supra mkiv TT6 j-spec had it coming up to 7 months now:D
  5. the insurance company have been in touch today and by the sounds of it they want to collect my car leaving a courtesy car and bring the supe back when its fixed, they would not go into details of how and where it will be fixed, i dont know if i like the sound of it:(, there calling back in the morning to go into details(i was at work), im not fussed where its fixed as long as its done right its just i have had bad experiences with leaving cars at the garage and dread to think what they could getup to with my supe:( especialy if i dont even know where or who its at:search:

    Supra diesel

subscribed, id like to see this happen and you have already got a running engine so its just an engine transplant at the end of the day;) a few technical bits and bobs and its all done:D did you say its turbo dieselveg oil? even better;)
  7. they did the fast and the furious thing didnt they:rolleyes: ill get my coat...
  8. i dunno about the wheel it took most of the hit, but they are split rims so maybe the seal has cracked, it was 11 psi down when i got home about an hour later, i only washed, pollished and did a full weekly check of the car yesterday the suspension seems ok altho i will have it checked to be sure just been and got jap mag so im off to sulk/drowl over lui's car:d
  9. the lights was reconned less then 4 months ago, however the chrome inner has started to peel...so maybe:) just had a phone call from a third party insurance thats licked to my car insurance some how? and the guy was like are you sure you dont have any injurys most people thet get bumped nowadays have various types of injurys, i said no (i was doing less than 10mph lol), he said ok ill call you back in 7 days just to make sure none have creapt up on you:rolleyes: what is this world comming to lol even the insurance companys are trying to get you to clame for something that aint there:blink:
  10. yeah got his details and just got off the phone from the insurance company, it just a pain in the arse tbh:( will i be able to pick where it gets fixed, dont want any-old bodyshop to fix it want it done right:)
  11. :(another damaged supe the bloody wheel wont stay pumped up either:( doubt i will be able to get another i love these wheels
  12. the restrictor ring will stop it over boosting till it goes bang, the boost controller can only increase boost over its maximum. With a full decat and cat back system that base (maximum) boost pressure without restrictor ring will be over 1.2 bar and that is considdered the max 'safe' boost on stock twins Most supe's dont show an increase in power over about 1.1- 1.2 bar its alot safer and what most owners do is restsrict ring it to 1bar and boost controller it up2 what they want (1.2)
  13. blue would be nice but i know of these off the top of my head http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-MkIV-TT-Spark-Plug-Cover-Bolts-Set-CHRO_W0QQitemZ300223561139QQihZ020QQcategoryZ40199QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-Supra-MkIV-TT-Spark-Plug-Cover-Bolts-Set-S-S_W0QQitemZ300223561114QQihZ020QQcategoryZ40199QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

  19. just a wild stab in the dark but is your battery dead, and your alternator not working, because that could cause the first set of symptoms, and well if the battery is dead the alarm wont be doing anything?
  20. report them to the DVLA , different garage different tolerances, Ive had my mini fail an mot on 31 items (just checked to make sure) took it back to the garage i always used before moving and it failed on a blown bulb:search: you just cant please some people

  23. ahh glad you said about gaskets , i will need the one between the 1st and 2nd cat and the one between the 2nd cat and the catback exhaust system, if these are the ones you stock i could be in for a couple if i get the decat, cheers future proof-ing for wideband..i like that idea:)

well i have had some fun playing with this software, it can do so much, and for free:D it can do loads as it is on the phone but it can also output the times into a spread sheet and create graphs and stuff, you can also output it into google earth and it plots your way points i like the 0-62, 50-75 timings and the gps speed gauge the most. its alot more accurate than i expected it can pickup the dip in boost as the second turbo comes on line and can overlay about 7 different bits of information into one graph
