  6. Just wanted to pick all of your brains, as when I have been taking bits off around the engine, I have come to the turbos and noticed the fins on both sides are different? Im not quite sure if thats normal, I cant think why to be honest why they would be, also bear in mind that these are stage 1 hybrids. As I understand it, the internals of these hybrids are stock (J-spec) dimensions (though built with steel rather than ceramic internals) To me something doesnt look right? (see pics) Anyone have any thoughts? If they are meant to look like that, would you say they look in good condition? Cheers Turbo 1 and Turbo 2
  7. As im doing a bit of work on my engine, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the Supra turbos work. I have got the workshop manuals, but they dont go into detail of whats actually going on and how they work. I have read a few articles on how turbos work, but still unsure. While reading, I came acorss a section on cars with two turbos. It said that generally the 1st turbo is smaller than the 2nd one, so that it can spool up quicker. But looking at my turbos (engine is out of the car) both turbos look the same size to me. (I can post pics if required) If im right in thinking they are the same size, how do they work? Also, regarding my turbos, they are stage 1 Hybrids, which are capable of running up to 1.2bar (max). As I understand it, the internals of these hybrids are stock (J-spec) dimensions (though built with steel rather than ceramic internals). How will these differ to standard j-spec turbos? A few questions there, but if anyone would like to help me try understand better that would be great. Cheers Dave
