hi dominic, welcome. genuinely interested, did you say your last car was 1000 bhp?? quick word of advice too, try to make your messages sound less aggressive, ie; with the comments about your knowlege of cars. there are alot of people of here with alot of knowlege who might possibly tear you apart and interrogate you about what you think you know. all fine if you know your stuff, but at the same time, no-one likes a big head!

i was under the impression that restricting the exhaust flow to regulate the boost pressure was a matter of trial and error due to the variables with each individual car. i would buy one but i dont see the point in buying a 1bar restrictor ring if it doesnt restrict me to 1bar. it would be quicker and free to make one at work using trial and error to get it perfectly catered for my car. was just wondering what diameter hole is the norm on a "1 bar" ring so i could work from there. the reason why i want to restrict to 0.7 or 0.8 bar (stock levels) is purely to reduce possible wear and tear on my engine, but still have the ability to boost upto 1.2 with a controller when required. just needed to know if increasing boost to a peak level of 1.2 bar with a ring cut for 0.8 bar is perfectly safe to do. cheers

does anyone have a template with measurements to make a restrictor ring? also, what would be the minimum level of restriction? would i be able to set a boost controller to run 1.2bar, with say for example, a ring fabricated for 0.7? cheers

was told my company is moving in december, can either do a four hour round trip commute or look elsewhere. commuting would mean having to work in bristol too (spits). very bad news seeing as 1. its nearly christmas, 2. have only just got my first mortgage, 3. not very many jobs in the area, 4. girlfriend's 3mths with our first baby, 5. nobody is hiring because of this whole recession thing, and 6. 20mpg. not much call for vending machine engineers, i guess another one bites the dust....stupid dust
