ian c did a parts list inc labour costs, search around for it. i believe it was around the 9k mark
  3. where might you get a 1b rr? is this the usual for boost control, fit a smaller ring then up the boost as and when with the controller? can you get a 0.8b rr or will this create too much restriction?

if you put it into perspective though; you'd get a fairly tidy bpu supra for about £7000. if you go for the phr street kit you'll be saving a few quid also, add on the other supporting mods and you'll be looking at about £5000 for decent parts (depending on what stage the car is at on purchase). if youre looking at doing the fitting yourself, you'll save a packet in labour cost; the only other thing is to get your ecu mapped, which shouldnt cost the world seeing as a small turbo can be run on a piggyback. so youll be looking at around £13-14000 (obviously a rough estimation with the assumption that you'll be doing the majority of the work yourself) for a car that will probably push out a driveable 550bhp. added bonus to this being that you'll have the satisfaction of building your own monster. the downside to buying one thats already been converted being; you wont know exactly what has been done to the car unless it has been well documented and all receipts have been kept, and you dont know how much abuse the turbo has given the engine. you wouldnt want to buy a lemon
  6. it'd probably say something in japanese......
  7. the price of 99 ron fuel means i only eat gravel, cheers though
  8. i take it that switch that is controlled by the red button next to the shifter is also controlled by a relay that is connected to the brake pedal, and its the relay i can hear. never noticed it before, what a waste of time question to post! i swear this car has made me paranoid....
  9. usually notice things like that, never have before though......how queer cheers
  10. started my car today and left it to warm up. when the car was ready to go i pressed the brake to shift into reverse, when pressing the brake i could hear and feel a a singular click, like a relay clicking, coming from the shifter. this clicking only occurs when in "park", anyone got any ideas? the car didnt do this yesterday
  11. if i had the spare cash floating around, i'd pay the £4000 my mate wants for his 230bhp, 650kg mk1 supercharged golf....its great fun
  12. does anyone have any experience with running a greddy smic? was looking at replacing my tired stock intercooler for the greddy but after looking on the supra net FAQ section, i have been put off after reading that the greddy is not as efficient as the stock unit. is there any evidence to support this?? definately need to replace my intercooler by early next year at the latest, dont want to kick off the long running debate of smic vs fmic, but if there is evidence to support the fact that the greddy smic is cack then i may go for one of their front mount kits as an alternative. any thoughts on the greddy smic?
  13. strangely attracted to the octopuss at the end

    Bang!

i owned my n/a for 7weeks..... did as you are doing, thought 220bhp would be lively enough but it struggled against my girlfriends 1.7 puma. not sure if there was something wrong with it or if it was just sh*t
  15. or maybe your a mad max fan and want to have selectable turbos so that you can have a "go faster" switch in your car just like the road warrior
  16. all this talk about testicles.... basically the car will accelerate as quickly as you allow it too. its as simple as that, tickle it around and you'll be driving miss daisy, floor it and you'll get a woody. if your uneasy about the power then leave the TC on, at low revs the supra is a pussycat
  17. 2008-Current: Ultima Spyder 5.7 v8 1998 post some pics!
  18. in NFS underground the supra starts out with about 220bhp.....how inaccurate:Pling:
  19. cheers nic, thanks for the parts diagram too, quite useful
  20. would probably be the best option to overhaul the lot. i'll see what anyone else has to say first though. cheers
  21. was just reading an old post by ian c about renewing his suspension with stock parts. sounded like a good idea seeing as my suspension is feeling old but £2000 sound like a good whallop to be parting with. was wandering if anyone had purchased a CW fast road suspension kit? i know absolutely nothing at all about it, but have heard it mentioned in a few threads. i would appreciate any comments ie: what the kit consisted of, price, how it improved the handling and ride quality etc. or in fact any suggestions on what anyone else has done to improve the handling and ride quality of their cars. cheers
