  1. LMAO, don't listen to H... you'll be fine. You just need photo ID. BTW I'm in south lanarkshire, why on earth is he meeting you in Edinburger? Surely Glasgow would be FAR easier?
  2. I wouldn't call it cheap as 2k is a lot of lolly for paint. But the work that goes into it at least justifies that cost. I don't see the justification with vinyl wrapping. I'm not sure how much you would pay down there but around £2k seems reasonable in England. A respray could probably be done in a week if the sprayer was working on your car the whole time. This will never be the case though as there are often a lot of things being done at once. If you got your car back in a fortnight you would be doing well but that would be on the basis that you had any new screens/seals etc to hand and that there was no down time waiting on them to arrive. I would say the going rate for a non-rushed respray would generally be 2-4 weeks. There are a few sprayers on here that would be able to quote you a more accurate timescale though. Remember that every job is individual, so the time and cost will always be dependant on the work required.
  3. Yeah I'll double check it. I didn't notice any corrosion on mine but I didn't really pay much attention to it. Thanks again
  4. It would definitely be a respray for me. I can't see vinyl wrapping lasting very long to be honest. When it gets chipped does it not tear? Will the edges not start to peel and bubble after a couple of years? A good respray will cost you around £2k. You can pay more or less depending on how willing you are to look around. To do it properly you would need the windows out, this usually means a new front screen at least. I think you can take out the rear and put it back but I couldn't be certain.
  5. The very one mate, many thanks. Just regular steel yeah?
  6. Not sure if it has O-Rings, it's the one that connects to the water pump and feeds round behind the head. It branches off to feed the turbos, into the matrix and round the other side of the head to feed the TB & ICV (the one that stops it from freezing) before going through the stock oil cooler and back into the block. I've taken away the oil cooler, my turbo is oil cooled and I'm not bothering with anti-freezing the TB & ICV so I'm just going to chop everything off other than the matrix feed and weld it all up
  7. Do you know what the water bypass pipe is Chris? I wasnt sure if it was allu or copper?
  8. Ahh that explains it. I couldn't think of a reason for the drain lol.
  9. What Marc put is the reason I asked about you being certain. I was pretty sure with the tubby seals being worn that you would get smoke coming out on boost and on WOT rather than when idling, pulling away and pulling up. It isn't really good news as it's a fairly expensive job but at least it can put your mind at ease a little
  10. As above really, looking to take some parts to a fabricator and just want to be 100% sure what all the parts are made of. I'm thinking cast aluminim for the most part but I just want to be 100% sure. Water Elbow (connects to top rad hose) Main Water Pipe (connects from pump to heater matrix) Cam Covers (Self explanatory) One little side note, I was looking at the water pump and I noticed it had a little pipe coming off the bottom. I don't remember this going anywhere. Is it a drain? Where does it drain from? Thanks
  11. Halfway through writing the above the postie arrived Thanks to JP and Michel for these (other than the timing wheel).
  12. I've really struggled for time this week so I decided to burn the candle at both ends and spend a couple of hours after work (backshift) last night to get some things started. Head is now torqued down properly, shims are all in place and free, cams are now torqued down. I need to get a hold of a set of feelers so that I can check the shim clearance and then I need some "packing seal" to finish off the front cam bearing. I've also started fitting the different bits and bobs. Water pump, alternator, aircon pump, brake master cylinder and power steering reservoir are all on.

  14. Cheers Chris. I ordered it yesterday so with any luck it will come tomorrow and I can get my head finished
  15. Those turbos look OK, although one of the pictures shows one of the fins is bent? Might be the actual picture though. I would also want to see the turbine side though, that can be chipped just as easily and cause efficiency to be lost
  16. Oh no, I understood your input. I didn't get why the discussion went onto metal in the first place, it was like google copy and pasting rather than actual human input based on the query at hand
  17. That's fine by me mate, I can pick it up once I get paid. My mate has a van I'll just pay the rest when I pick up I'm sure everything will be fine with it. Even if it's stock I'm happy as I'm going to be tearing it apart anyway. You want paypal of BACS?
  18. Those aren't the same things bud. Those are the front indicators/sidelights rather than the side markers.
  19. I get paid on the 28th, I would have the rest of the cash then? How much of a deposit do you need bud?
  20. I would have this but I only have £650 in the piggybank at the moment
  21. If you are looking to go single in the future then I would recommend just picking up a decent 2nd hand set to be honest. Not much point in putting money into hybrids, money that you won't get back, only to switch them out for a single later down the line. You can get decent tubbys for around £250-£300. You don't need the whole assy so shipping won't be THAT bad. However, is it definitely the turbo seals and not the valve stem seals?
  22. Is my inbox full or something? Not one offer of a loan
  23. Sadly I don't accept sexual favours from men
