  1. Thanks for this, it's really helpful. I wasn't aware of the diffs but the seller did mention it had the "bigger" diff. I thought he was referring to the LSD. I checked the VIN plate and it does state it has the LSD & V160 from factory. I was a little uncertain as the paperwork suggested it was an SZ. I shot Jurgen a message as he apparently imported it but no reply from him regarding it. Given the details on the VIN, I am happy it's an RZ. I have seen lots of amazing examples on here so I think you're right, I'll perhaps shoot send some messages out asking them if they'll sell. I would much prefer a car that is already single and with the interior and exterior to my liking as I'm not looking for a project really. I suppose I could add the facelift tail lights, which I prefer, to any pre facelift car without much bother anyway.
  2. Hi guys, I'm potentially about to pull the trigger on a 95 RZ TT6 Manual but there are a couple of things i'm hung up on; 1. It's pre facelift and of course pre VVTi. I was focused on getting a post facelift and preferably a VVTi initially and spending a little more but this one seemed worth a look. It has had a good quality respray, paperwork is good and wheels, tyres, coilovers and brakes are new. Are these generally worth less and less desirable or is it not so much of an issue and condition is king? 2. The interior is tired. The car as only done 119k reading in KM but no doubt has been counting in miles for a while. The plastics are all shot and the cloth seats have had it. They let the car down but I keep telling myself that leather seats should be easy enough to get hold of as well as plastics and it's still worth buying the car. I think there is also an element of the asking price of the car £16.5k and my knowing that it will easily stand me at £20k before I'm happy or potentially a lot more once I do a decent single conversion which is inevitable really. I also have a skyline and rx7 which are both faster and more agile than the supra in question so I am essentially spending a lot of money just to fulfill my long time desire to own one of these, even though the power (BPU 410hp) and the overall handling doesn't excite me. I am finding myself questioning is it worth it for such an old car despite having a lot of love for these cars. Perhaps I should wait for a good single turbo one. I would really appreciate some thoughts on this, particularly if any of you have found yourself in a similar position. Cheers
  3. £20k for the right car I guess. That doesn't mean that I will overpay though. Unfortunately I am finding that some owners are very much over valuing their cars. Happy to hear from anyone as I may buy a lower value car if the price is right but I keep getting offered early cars that need bodywork and repairs, have high mileage and yet the asking price is right up there.
  4. Tattoos aren't my thing but people have been having them for literally hundreds of years. If anything, they have gained popularity, not lost it. If this trend changes, I don't think the removal business will suddenly boom as less people will be getting them and therefore less people will need them removed. The process and end result of removal needs to improve a whole lot too as it is presently painful, requires many sessions and the results, particularly on colored tattoos is poor.
  5. Agreed, it does need work to prepare it for sale and it's great that you intend to do those things before it's sold. Certainly nothing that can't be sorted but I had to just assess it as it stood on the day. I can't say I like the model 5's but the reason I factored them in on the items that need attention was not based on the style of the wheels, it was the condition as unfortunately the brake dust has eaten the finish, particularly at the rear. I hope it didn't come across that it was just the design of them.
  6. Thanks for the input guys. My preference is definitely to go buy a car from a private owner who is an enthusiast rather than a trader. That said, given the few cars around, I am certainly exploring my options. I went to see cheeky monkey's car yesterday and unfortunately didn't bring it home with me. It needed a few too many things and we haven't worked out a deal as yet. I've had a few pm's regarding cars so hopefully something will come up. If nothing does in the next couple of weeks, I think I may finally close the curtain on this and just buy a GTR.
  7. I have spotted your car a few times too Greg. I was admiring it at Japshow a few weeks back. Lovely car.
  8. Thanks for the reply Greg. That is exactly my thinking. I've noticed the prices creep up over the years but more importantly, I've noticed the market slow in terms of the availability of good used Supras. I know JM and Jurgen and I've checked out that 1999 one he has. I am very tempted by it but funnily enough, I have contacted cheekymonkey about his one and I am seeing it tonight. Fingers crossed it checks out. One other that has caught my attention is this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-RZ-/222033775702?hash=item33b23e8c56:g:ZF0AAOSwezVWzwMC Just not sure about it. Seems a good spec and in good order.
  9. Thanks for detailed reply Greg. That is exactly my understanding. I've been watching the supra market closely and I've seen the supply seemingly just dry up. Missed out on some superb cars over the years too but other commitments got in the way. I am familiar with JM and I know Jurgen. I've seen the stock 1999 vvti he has listed for 17k which is appealing but funnily enough cheekymoneky's car is what I'm hoping to view and potentially buy today. I joined up last night and have shot a pm over to him. Hopefully he's available and we can work out a deal.
  10. Hi Guys, As above really. My ideal would be a clean single 6 speed but a BPU TT6 would suffice. A UK spec would be nice but I know these are rare to find these days. Thanks
  11. Hi guys, After originally getting the JDM bug over a decade ago by passing by a local supra owned by ex-member Ro on here, I am finally ready to buy my own supra. I did actually start my JDM path going off to buy a RZ all those years ago with 12k in my hand but it was tired and the beautiful RX7 parked next to it took my attention. Fast forward ten years on and although I still own the 7 and a skyline I bought 9 years ago, I now want to complete my dream "holy trinity" (no not that one) and buy a supra. I have been to see about 4 over the years, none of which I was taken with. These were all RZ models but ranged from stock/BPU through to twin single. As prices seem to have crept up over the years, I am presently in the market for a TT6, preferably UK (i know these aren't plentiful in supply) and ideally BPU, with a view to going single in the future in order to achieve around 500hp. I have spotted some single turbo manual cars such as the car that SVA Imports are selling on ebay but cynical side tells me that sub £20k single turbo cars will not be in as good order as I would like. Do you guys have any advice you could offer or any cars you could point me in the direction of? Thanks in advance.

    Abszxx & Mas

I did the show circuit for ages before and after getting into performance cars to be honest but last year i spent racing and drifting as many tracks as possible which was good I got married earlier this year so that put an end to the british drift championship for this year and i think ive covered 850 odd miles in the rx7 and about 1k in the skyline (got one of them now ) lol so yeah i think im prob more lazy with it all now! Dont really see Ro as he settled with his wife in farnborough after he got married. I am hoping to meet up with him at some point though. Be good to all meet up at some point for a bit of show and tell...esp seeing as your about 2 miles away lol

are you at japshow this weekend abs? I have seen your car about (i dont live in the area anymore) But not often! imho i do prefer it in black looks the mutts. A belated Eid mubarak too! Does mas still have his blue supra mr lover?
  14. I couldnt agree more bud. Im not an "xboxer" the same as im not mad into one type of car and instead a petrolhead loving all sorts. I think this gives me the ability to reccomend without bias I think the ps3 has huge potential but im quite literally astonished that its not being taken advantage of. The Xbox is the next gen console of the moment for sure. As said - get both if you can...nothing wrong with being greedy lol

are you guys still around? i met you guys at a number of shows and locally through a friend of mine and ex member Roh? Wayney moved on too right i think? Just wondered if you were still around. Would be good to catch up if you guys are still local Tharek
  16. i really think that those who reccomend a ps3 are either "PS only" people or havent tried a 360. the 360 is in another league for what it offers in terms of variety of games and developed/refined online play. I think the ps3 is great and blue ray etc make it a great buy but never instead of an xbox. many of my mates ps3's gathered dust whilst they waited for mythical creatures like GT5 to emerge... they have all now bought and xbox and never looked back. A great console is nothing without anything good to play on it. forza 3 is coming out and some titles like gears of war and halo can be played for quite literally years without getting bored xbox all the way or both bud
  17. there is a hell of alot going on too! http://www.rockingham.co.uk/btccsun08.pdf nice sunday out
  18. Hi, I have 4 British Touring Car Championship tickets for tomorrow at Rockingham raceway. We were planning to go and may still go meaning we may use 2 tickets but would anyone like the other two or perhaps all four tickets? They cost £26 each (advance ) or £30 each on the gate but im not actually selling them although something for them would be appreciated:) . So if you would like them you could collect them from us on the way tomorrow. If you are coming north up the m1 to get there then you will pass us anyway - J11. Tickets are for both days but one has passed today http://www.rockingham.co.uk/events/eventdetails.asp?id=208. Let me know if you would like them, Tharek 07900 575 124
  19. if he has been a member on here for two years and has made a substantiial amount of posts, why are you doubting what he is saying? genuine question.
  20. im guessing you will want top mullah for yours
  21. i have been through this and it is literally as described. I had someone reverse into me in a petrol station causing £2500 worth of damage to my bmw. I started a claim with my company got advice and realised it may take months if not longer for my insurers to counter claim and go to court etc to get thier costs back in which time if i renewed i was classed as at fault by default. thereafter you are also classed as a risk as you have "claimed"!! the thing to do is ensure you claim on the third parties ins and never ever your own. load of sh1t aye
  22. thanks for your replies guys. yep they are indeed both sold and i watched them both sell and only days after wayneys sold i had the money (probably not enough for his though). ive been on here a fair while and when i joined up i went to see a supe that i wanted to buy and ended up buying an rx7 the guy had still have the rx7 and i do love it to bits so all is not lost now basically looking to sell/px my 2001 Celica daily drive and get a supe. I really do love the look and spec of rays old car though.
