  1. Cheers Vicky. I'm surprised I'm the only one!

    Wheel ...???

Wheels in first pic are nicer. Never seen a car with sideburns before
  3. Did anyone just watch the RIBA Stirling Prize awards on channel 4 just now? The development where I live (Accordia in Cambridge) was shortlisted and actually won! It was up against developments such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, Manchester Civil Justice Centre and Bijlmer Station. Hopefully this will have slowed the plummeting value of my apartment http://www.13amp.org/misc/elise01-640.jpg
  4. Looks very substantial! I fitted a rollcage to a car I had a few years ago and made sure there was a load of padding on any bits my head might hit in the event of an accident. Might be worth doing the same (unless you only drive your car when wearing a helmet). Death by rollcage would be sadly ironic
  5. A certain percentage of the LCD panels made will have dead pixels. It's just a trade-off between quality and price. Most people wouldn't be willing to spend a lot more to get a guaranteed dead pixel free panel. Although not so relevant to consumer TVs, there are rating for panels that classify the max number of dead/stuck pixels allowed. So you can spend more to get a better quality panel - such as for medical use.
  6. Whack a few of these on it. Should be fine. http://www.driedlavendershop.co.uk/ekmps/shops/norrisandarmi/images/1st_class_stamp.jpg
  7. I voted Genius. He's pushing the limits of human endeavour. It's no more idiotic than pushing your body to the limits to run a marathon, or trying to knock someone out in a boxing ring.
  8. Mine whined for the 5 years I had the car (running BPU all that time). Never had any problems.
  9. Like so many other people here, I bought an S13 to go drifting. Awesome fun. I stripped it out and fitted coilovers and a rollcage. I killed the turbo on the first drifting day It's best to have a car you don't care about if you're going drifting!
  10. I'm sure I would have been caught out in the same way. Hindsight blah blah... I guess the correct thing to do would have been to insist on leaving a deposit. Maybe 500 quid though - certainly not 5K. Obviously, this doesn't help you now though
  11. Tricky situation for the seller. I think the moral of the story is: "The car isn't yours until you leave a deposit".
  12. Found this song today. Total class Chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVu2cX0jEYk
  13. If it's not ordering them on filename, it must be ordering them on the "title" or "track" tag in the id3 tags. Use an id3 tag editor such as Mp3Tag and check that they all have the correct "track" tag. If that doesn't work, you could just prefix the title with the track number!
  14. I've got a week off (hence posting on here during the day!), so here's the view to my left. It's a giant image so I've made it a link... apartmentview02.jpg By the way, look closely and you'll see a genuine nuclear bunker
  15. Too late. You are suffocated by the gorgonzola and die.
  16. I am standing in a small shop which normally has goods for sale. There are areas of the shop intended for the display of treasure. There is an exit south, above which hangs a sign, reading: "Leave Treasure Here. Please note that only two objects may be removed from this shop. So choose carefully!" There is an aqualung here There is a bunch of keys here There is a cup of tea here There is a steel rod here
  17. I phoned Sky for a quote last week for my Elise. They've been good in the past (for my Supra and my old Elise), but rubbish the last couple of years or so. They couldn't quote me and immediately forwarded me to some stupid insurance agency who took a load of details (except the car!) and then forwarded me to a load more insurance companies. It was a complete hassle and waste of time, and the agency kept phoning me back at work. I will never phone Sky again.
  18. Give the screen back to your mate and get him to clean it. If he fixes it, job done. Otherwise he can buy you a new one.
  19. It's a bit like when you're cleaning your car, someone always says "you can clean mine next"
  20. Awesome reviews! I'll definitely get this when I've finished Prison Break - which is the best show I've ever seen (better than Lost!)
  21. After translating the original post into English, I think he is complaining about low idle causing vibration when stationary, possibly due to a sticky idle air control valve.
  22. .....post -traumatic stress disorder would surely be caused after surviving that pathway
  23. Interesting. I hadn't heard of Solaris. Took me a few minutes to work out what it really is! http://www.liferacing.com/
