  10. Hi Phil and welcome to the BBS. I have used Bracknell Tyre & Battery for my last set of tyres who were great. I can not suggest a general tyre choice but, will use this place again. They are on 01344 411323 Longshot Lane, western Industrial estate, Bracknell Berks. They are just off Western road opposite Towry laws building. Hope this helps.

    OEM Pads

Gavin, Terry, Have you used the Porterfield R4 (Race) pads ? I have stock UK spec brakes/pads and was going to move to the R4's all round so that I remove fade - period! A few people have mentioned that the R4S (Street) pads have not been up to much and this is why I was going for the R4's Thanks Pete

  15. Hi, I have my car going to get the alignment done tomorrow at my local dealer and will provide them with Lance's recommendation but, I see that they are all in degrees apart from the last one - Rear Toe IN 1.0mm. So If: 0.080 is 2mm 0.120 is 3mm What is 1.0mm in degrees ? Or will Toyota be OK with this measurement ? Thanks *************************************************** From MKIV.com 1. What is a Good Street/Lance W. Alignment? Front: Camber - 1.0 Caster + 5.0 Toe 0.00 Rear: Camber -1.5 Toe IN 1.0 mm The Front and Rear Toe are critical to tire wear, even small deviations from spec may cause unusual wear patterns or excessive wear.

  17. Hi, I noticed that my front tyres were wearing down the outer edge on both sides and after checking some older threads it sounded like the alignment was out. So, I checked into the Toyota Dealer and they pulled of this report. My interpretation is that I am out in the following areas: Castor Front Toe Rear Right Camber Rear Right Toe They said that the adjustment threaded bolt on the rears were rusted/full of crap and could not be adjusted/moved at all. So, I asked what my options were. He told me that either you can replace the arm where the bolt is located at £lots£ or try to soak them in oil or something overnight and with a lot of time and effort, free the original bolts. I asked if he was willing to do this. So, I’m booked in for 3 days the week after next. Looking at what Doughie has done and Lance’s settings on the MKIV.com site should I tell my dealer that I want the settings that Lance has up ? Is anyone running with these settings ? Does it make a big difference ? It sounds like a good set-up. I see that he is running with lots of positive Castor so if my understanding is correct from CW’s post this is a good option as the Camber will be more negative when turning in. Just when I need more ? Am I on the right track here ? I am really very new to wheel alignments so any advice would be appreciated. Note: The Target data from the SUN SAC-1800 is different from what Lance has posted as Stock Toyota Alignment. Any reason for this ? ****It will not take the .bmp attachment so I will PM it to Branners*****
  18. Cheers Chris, I know where to come when I have the cash. Pete
