  1. Looks really good, but can you disable the 900-degree steering and just have 270-degree (or whatever)? I tried the GT wheel with GT4, but I hated the 900-degree and went back to the sticks
  2. In case it helps in finding one, the cat off a TT Soarer would also fit.
  3. That would work! Main thing is to soak it and to pick it up off the paint rather than wiping it. I use toilet paper (NOT paper kitchen towels, they scratch) and detailing spray, or a super-strong mix of water and car shampoo depending on how long it's been on there. The paper/cloth/flannel/knickers/whatever helps to keep it damp for a while. I don't like birds, especially that magpie that perched on my spoiler
  4. My experience with boost controllers is pretty limited, but as I understand it, they really aren't as clever as some of you think Yes they look at the current boost, and depending on that and the settings, they will allow some percentage of the boost through to the wastegate. But it's well nigh impossible for them to 'lock on' to a particular boost level. EBCs' advantage over MBCs is that they can provide a smooth change in the percentage of boost allowed through to the wastegate. What would I do having noticed a change? I'd ask Ryan
  5. I like the rainfall radar on this one, great for short term forecasting: http://www.meteox.co.uk/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-3&soort=loop1uur
  6. Sounds like you've got a TT Supra diff - it might be possible to swap the pinion and ring gears from your old diff (see: http://www.v8soarer.com/diffs/index.shtml) but I've no idea about that apart from what I've read there! The easier option is to get a diff from an NA Supra. The early ones (pre-facelift?) fit straight in (casing, driveshafts and all). The later ones have different flanges on the driveshafts, but I think you might be able to just swap in your original shafts.
  7. Yep, it's linked to in the second thread ('... overlap ...')
  8. Some docs in these posts... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=615754&postcount=2 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=43765&highlight=throttle
  9. There's a switch inside the TPS which closes when the thrrottle closes, connecting '4' to '1' (using your numbering). '4' goes to the ECU, as 'IDL' I think. The TPS adjustment is done by rotating the TPS so that the switch closes at the right time. It's not something that usually goes out of adjustment by itself - more likely to happen if someone removes and refits it without adjusting it, because refitting it in what looks like the exact same position is unlikely to get it right. It's a fiddly job!
  10. Same on the Sup... when the throttle's closed, the 4th wire is grounded (if it's adjusted correctly...).
  11. Well there was bound to be someone popping up to make it complicated... happy to oblige Think I might have read the colours wrong - blue might be high gravity, meaning lower sea level. Either way, the two extremes along the equator are roughly in India and the Phillipines... http://www.unavco.org/edu_outreach/tutorial/graphics/geoidvsellipsoid.gif (Geoid height is true sea level, which is determined by gravity).
  12. Gravity... is lumpy Check out the GRACE research. So if you want to weigh less, go to India! http://www.piggynap.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/howcoolisthis.jpg
  13. Carrier assy EPC listings for European models... 'Supra': 'Supra (NATO)': Still can't guess what the 4.273 ratio came with, maybe it was a special NA hill-climb model
  14. I read the EPC as saying.... NA jspec (all years): Auto: 4.083 5spd: 4.083 6spd: 3.769 TT jspec to May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.267 (big diff casing) TT jspec after May 1996: Auto: 3.769 6spd: 3.266 ... but no idea on the Euro models yet, especially the 3.528 or 4.273! The 3.266 is the same ratio as 3.267 (=49/15), except it's got the smaller crown wheel (203mm vs 221mm) and therefore smaller casing. Looking at the carrier assy in the EPC it's easier to interpret:
  15. How about an empirical test? The auto box is 1:1 in 3rd gear, and the 6sp is 1:1 in 5th... so if the diffs are the same you'd expect the same mph per revs in each. If the diffs are different, it's by about 15%, big enough to dwarf any innacuracies. My money's on the EPC being correct, but then (from pretty much everything else I've read) I'd expect the ratio part of the code to be '03' for the 6sp... (assuming the car was 6sp when it left the factory...)
  16. Oh I'm sure it still has potential in that regard
  17. Couple of things I've experienced, not sure if either matches your symptoms, but might help in your process of elimination... When I got my Soarer it was quite a pig to drive due to worn lower front wishbone bushes, tramlining quite badly. But it was under heavy braking that it felt the worst, as the forces involved then pushed the wheels back, adding toe-out, making the car meander around. So I'd imagine that under braking is when one might first notice that bushes are wearing. Another issue I've had with braking is when the wheel bearing went - gradually I noticed more and more vibration under braking, but felt through the car not the wheel or brake pedal. Even just before I got it sorted, it really wasn't noticable at low speeds or light braking, and there wasn't any detectable play in the bearing either. It was worse when braking on a bend. This happened after the car had been stood for a couple of months (mechanic thought that wasn't just coincidence). Hope you get it sorted whatever it is, braking's the one thing you want working 100% on any car!!
  18. Quite tempted actually, even though I don't have a Supra. It's number 126, but of how many? Number 80 would be cool Absolutely not tempted by the TRD tissue box cover though... (C'mon, own up, who's got one? ) Here's a lighter you'd never strike: I'm starting a collection, love the rollagas, but sadly that's a bit out of my reach
  19. Seems we learn something new about global economics every day during this crisis, that we just don't hear about otherwise. I read this the other day, which is a perfect example of the kind of lending that needs to be available:
  20. "... Later at Edinburgh, while playing tennis, he noticed the same symptoms in his right eye." Playing tennis with one eye takes some balls
  21. So where does it say 1996? I read the guide document and came to same conclusion as Jurgen - over 10 years old is still ok
  22. I presume you mean 1TB Simple fact that as drive capacity gets bigger, it's more densely packed, and therefore quicker to read/write. Access time would still be much quicker on a Raptor, and that's a major factor in how the drive feels in day to day use. Up to you if it's worth the money though!
  23. They're all crazed pyromaniacs. They start off with the soft stuff like candles, which is innocuous enough, but then quickly move on to harder stuff like log fires. When that isn't enough to satisfy their lunatic cravings... watch out, it could be your shed, car, or house next. Now we can add balls to that list... thanks womankind, why on earth do we still love you?
