  1. Hi, Im just wondering if anyone out there might know what this could be. I have had the car a few weeks now and have just noticed that there is a strange sound and vibration from the engine / gearbox area that occurs when I go past 5000 revs. It still drives fine but I am a little concerned that something is going to go terribly wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark
  2. I always check this site to try and gauge what certain ISP's are like before I join. Just remember Talk Talk is a 12 month contract and so if they do turn out to be rubbish you will find it difficult to leave them before the end of the contract. http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=talktalk This is also a good place to compare ISP's http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/compare.asp Hope this helps, I know from experience how much an ISP can p!ss you off, as I unfortunately joined Tiscali when I first went on broadband Mark
  3. Funnily enough I was thinking about this the other day. Now I know that I have only had mine for a short while but that doesnt usually stop me from thinking about other cars. In the time I have been driving (9 years), I have owned 8 cars so you can see that I do like to change. Also during that time I had a CRX for 3.5 years so I have been averaging around a car a year. I cannot ever imagine wanting another car, I love this car so much (way more than the CRX and I really did like that car) and cannot think of a single reason to change in the future. This is also the first time that I have been in a position to do any modifications as money has always been a problem before, but now I am just looking forward to doing a few things to this car to make it faster and make it feel like mine and not somebody else's (if you know what I mean). The only other car I have ever really wanted was a Skyline (R33 or R34) but my brother has a R33 GTR and whilst it is very nice and very fast, they are just to complexed and prone to problems. Mark
  4. oh, that almost had me crying with laughter at work I love the cup holder bit with Bob Mark

    Poor guy!

Hello, My friend on the Subaru forum just sent me this. You've got to feel sorry for this guy minding his own business. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/AF4BBE1E-C159-416C-8469-722F66843774.htm Mark

    Car Parks

Hi Tom, She is very very low too low for me at the moment. She looks great but I would prefer being a bit higher just so I dont have to hear that terrible scraping sound. I wish I could spend spend spend. I think I will have to wait until I have sold my old car before I get mt Tein suspension. I am also planning on swapping bumpers due to the crack on the side of my Veilside. It could be fixed apparently but it might just crack again. Plus I kind of fancy a change. Out of interest and sorry to hi-jack the post. What are the Top Secret and Do-Luck bumpers like with regard to lowness. They both look great (especially the Do-Luck one), but are they so low that you scrape every where you go? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question but the Do-Luck one does luck like a very big bumper. Mark

    Car Parks

Hi, I have only had my car 2 weeks but I am already finding that I can't / don't want to go certain places. I drove out a regular car park the other day on to a mediocre cambered road and scraped the bottom of the bumper, I wasn't even going fast as I am always worried about this possibility. This is only due to the lowering springs and body kit on the car. Now im thinking of ordering some Tein Street suspension just so I can raise her a bit The bank balance is going to start hating me soon Mark
  8. It is the same principal. I am just sending all of my details back to Sky and within this you have to send 4 pictures, plus some details about the mods. i.e. power increase (if any) and value. Then they evaluate whether it is worth the amount that you stated. Mark
  9. Hello, Spent a lot of time this weekend trying out car seats for the back of my Supra as the wife was sick of sitting in the back . After trying about 7 different seats the only one that fitted (to a standard where the fitter would agree that it is safe) was the Britax Trio (as mentioned in other threads). This was hard to find in itself as Mothercare did not sell it anymore and so I eventually found it at Babies r Us. Just a quick note though, I could not get this seat to fit so that harnesses could be used (seatbelt wasnt long enough to thread through). Instead I am using it as a booster, as my son has fortunately got to a weight where he can use the adult seat belt. Just thought I would post this for future reference as I know how tricky it is find something that fits well enough to protect your loved ones. I will try and find all of the seats that didnt fit later, and list them on this thread just to save people the time in trying them out for themselves. Mark
  10. Hopefully I will be able to get this done sometime this year. I am just in the process of selling my old car and am very tempted to use the money to turbo my NA instead getting a new bathroom. Wifey doesnt agree at the moment though, but she will come around Mark
  11. Looking good, that looks spotless. You got the best colour as well Mark
  12. Im sure that a large percentage of the drivers on the road cannot do this. Throw speed cameras into the equation and all of a sudden people start to doubt there own ability and constantly check their speedo so as not to get caught out. My example was just there as an illustration, of course this would be the case, and if people just did 25 in a 30 zone and concentrated then that would be even safer. I was simply trying to point out that lack of awareness is very dangerous as well Just my opinion anway. Mark
  13. This is a difficult subject, Kaori is right to point out the difference between speeding and dangerous driving. Right or wrong I always look at it from the following perspective. Who is more dangerous, someone doing 40 in a 30 zone but paying complete attention to the road and surroundings, or a person rigidly sticking to 30 by constantly checking the speedo. This is just an example but I would say the 40 driver, as so much can happen in the time it takes to keep flicking your eyes onto your speedo. I think lack of awareness on the road is just as dangerous as speeding if not more so. When your driving then you should be paying complete attention, this really hacks me off when I see people smoking. How can you ban using a phone, but say it is ok to drive around with a mini fire in your hand? what is the first reaction if you drop the cigarette? Anyway im not saying that 145 centons is right or wrong as I have done this speed once or twice on a deserted motorway in the early hours of a morning. But I would say that since I became a dad I am much more aware of the speeds I do and I definately take it a lot easier around anywhere where there might be kids, as I wouldnt want people driving around near my son at light speed. Sorry for the lengthy babble Mark
  14. Hi Tom, Just having the old plate. Theres only really one plate I would ever consider having 'H4NKY', and I cant fint that any where. I dont think I could bring myself to part with the money just for a number plate anyway. I would much rather put the money towards performance mods. I will be ordering some Tein street dampers later this week for a start and then will basically be saving for a turbo. Mark
  15. Not so far, it only came off yesterday though and I will try and fit it back on today. Mark
  16. Ok, excuse my slowness..... Im new I see that its a recurring joke about 'Pink' Supras Mark
  17. Looking good, I too have been getting comments about my 'pink' car today They're all just jealous Mark
  18. Thanks guys. Sorry the number plate isnt mine, it still belongs to Mad Matt. He's in the process of transferring it to his Aristo. So there are some benefits to living in the midlands, its very rare that we get a hose pipe ban around here Mark
  19. lol I assume your talking about my sons car it turned into a car wash outside our house yesterday.... me, my son, brother and wife all got cleaning Twas a great day for it. Mark
  20. Hello there, Just spent the day cleaning cars yesterday and thought I would take a few pictures. Hope you like. Mark
  21. Doh!!!! I apologize profusely!! I will also say sorry to Thorena Yep, its supposed to be good weather all weekend. So whe will be cleaned a lot and I may take a ride to Santa Pod as there is a big easter weekend event on that me and Tom would like to see. I will be taking her to the next RWYB day as well to see what she does. Really to set the baseline for future reference Mark
  22. Cute, cute. How dare you call Thorena cute just kidding matey. Just been out in it during dinner, took a friend out in it as well (he owns a Scooby STI). He loves the car and wants one for his next car Shame I had to come in really, could of stayed out there with her all afternoon. Still raining though and she desperately needs a clean from all of the motorway spray. Mark
  23. Oh sorry guys..... Thorena is the car. Its basically because when I had my Type R I called it Thor and kept on going on about Thor and his big hammer. For some reason it always had a rubber mallet in the boot (wifey put it in there for some unknown reason), anyway thats where Thor came from. Since my Supra is referred to as a lady I thought I would call her Thorena. Just adding up all of the things I want for her. List is getting expensive Mark
  24. Done matey If you could do the same that would be great. Thanks Mark p.s 55 miutes and I get to see Thorena again
  25. Good morning everybody. Well I slept like a baby last night and was promptly woken by an excited wife and baby at 6.15 this morning as they wanted to see the Supra J My wife actually recorded my sons reaction and I may put it somewhere later on once I have downloaded it, as it is quite funny. It basically goes as follows: Me: “Tom…. what’s that there?” Tom: “Ooooooooooooh, Fupra (that’s his way of saying Supra, you should listen to him try to say Lamborghini J ), brum brum (exhaust sounds from him). Daddys car. Red. Basically he was well chuffed and he got to ride shotgun with me as the seat wont go in the back and thankfully the car doesn’t have a passenger airbag. So once I dropped him off I went driving for about 45 minutes to work (it usually takes 12 minutes, but I took the long route). Anyways I have got lots of crappy work to do, but every time I get a minute I will on this forum reading and thinking about what to do with her. I was thinking about a carbon bonnet as part of a stable diet for her but my wife is dead against that idea unless it is painted. Hay ho, see you all later. Mark (cant stop grinning)
