  1. Just thought I would say a quick hello. I have just got back from picking up my new baby (Mad Matts old car). Apart from the crappy weather on the way home it was a brilliant drive back (car needs cleaning badly though). Once we had reached dry weather the windows were down and I was listening to the sound of that lovely exhaust (every time I wanted to put my foot down though the police were there) Thanks again Matt, it was a pleasure to meet you and im sure we will meet again at JAE. Now im going to check on Thorena (dont ask), think about what im going to do to personalise her and then get some kip as I am shattered from all the driving. Thanks again Mark
  2. Hi Mas, Try Elephant.co.uk, I know I dont actually own a Supra yet but I will certainly be using them when I do get one. They allow 6 mods and the insurance is based on them returning the car to its standard form should you crash it and not replacing all of the mods. This means that for me on a J spec TT I would be paying £670 protected. I am 28 with 5 years no claims and it also includes my 24 year old wife on the cover (most places wont insure anyone under 25 on a turbo or import). So all in all I am very happy with the quote. Mark
  3. Hello all, I have finally got some money sorted to buy my Supra and will be scouring this forum, Autotrader, Ebay and anywhere else I can find to create a list of potential Supra's. I have already contacted a few of the people here to find out about their cars and I will hopefully be able to start looking at a few around the country in the next week or so. My dream would be to get a manual 6 speed TT but I am also considering autos's (although my brother who is an R33 GTR owner insists that I would be disappointed by the lack of driver involvement) and possibly Mad Matts NA (as it looks fantastic). Thankfully im not as narrow minded as my brother so I will be considering the pro's and cons of all types. Anyway, I must get back to searching for cars. Hopefully I will own some kind of Supra in the not too distant future. Mark
  4. Where abouts in the country are you? Its actually about 1 month too early for me, but if I find the right car early im sure I will find the money from somewhere Thanks Mark
  5. Ideally when I do come to buy I would like to get a relatively unmolested one but so long as its not running over 400bhp I will be happy. Elephant seem to be very good with mods as I have a quote with the basic filter, alloys and exhaust mods for £694. Although they do have a limit on the number of mods so I will just have to be careful that I dont get something overly modded. Saying that though Sky did a reasonable quote as well £760 (unmodded) so I could always use them. By the way nice Supra, if I had the money I would be interested but unfortunately my budget is going to be under 10k. Good luck selling though. Mark
  6. Woo hoo, thanks for the good news. I can live with those sort of costs and I dont want to do to many mods (just the basic stuff, exhaust filters and wheels to be honest) so with all that in mind I should be able to get one in February. I am just doing my remortgage at the moment for February so I will see what is available next month. I am now getting very excited about the prospect of getting a TT. I will probably be looking to buy from a forum member so im sure you will hear from me again in the future. Thanks again Mark
  7. Hello all, I am currently looking into various different cars to buy and would just like some input into the Supra option. Basically I really would like a Supra Twin Turbo but first want to find out about the sort of running costs in an average year. The reason I am being slightly more cautious than I usually would is due to the fact that the one turbo car I have owned (MR2 Turbo) cost me quite a lot due to certain problems and also caused me a lot of stress. My brother currently owns an R33 GT-R which is a brilliant car but due to its complexity is a money pit. I am pretty certain that the Supra is not going to be as bad as owning a Skyline with regards to maintenance but do you TT owners out there have to spend a lot of money in the course of a year? I know that the MPG isnt going to be brilliant but thats fine, the insurance is excellent in my opinion - Elephant quoted me £698 with protected no claims and my 24 year old wife on the insurance (I am 27 and was quoted on an import tt). So thats it basically. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark
