    Stupid banks

Ok then as some of you know Jurgen has just won me a fantastic looking TT, so I need to sell the Rav4 quickly to pay him the deposit and start the ball rolling. Fortunately some guy made a fairly decent offer and I accepted. He came to pick it up last night and instead of bringing cash or a bankers draft turned up with a receipt for a same day bank transfer. I had not seen one of these before and was very insecure about letting him have the keys. So to satisfy my uncertainty I phoned Barclays and got him to talk to someone to try and confirm the payment. She could not do this as it is nothing to do with her but she does say that the piece of paper I have is a guarentee. She also checks the details on it and is satisfied that it will go through by 2pm today. 2pm today comes and goes and there is still nothing, I am very worried now and call the bank. They say wait until 4.30 and check again. I do and still nothing. They eventually check more thoroughly and find that Barclays had entered my account incorrectly (it was correct on the receipt I had but they missed the first digit when processing it) and now it has bounced back. Fecking brilliant, so I have no car and no money. Fortunately the guy is honest and will hopefully be delivering me the cash tomorrow (so long as they have the money back in the account). All this hassle just because someone cannot read, oh and the best bit is that the guy had to pay £20 for the privilage of using this service. Triffic Essay over Mark
  2. Well I have just phoned directline on behalf of Vicki to put the Supra on her policy as we have just sold the Rav4 (that is a sperate trauma which I will post about in a minute). So I am on the phone and I select the 'I am an existing policy holder' option. 26 minutes later and I am still getting the stupid 'we will be with you shortly messages', so I decide to hang up and try again. But this time I choose the 'I have had a quote and now want to take out insurance' option....... Surprise surprise I get to talk to someone within 1 minute. Just shows what they think about their existing customers. Vicki only has one month left so she is going to get her extra years no claims bonus and join Sky. Also worth noting that the excess is ridiculous with Directline (£950 for Vicki). Mark
  3. This has happened to me twice before. It is so tricky to sell technological items as they are the things that scammers are always after due to size to value ratio. Theres not much you can do apart from never use 'buy it now' as this takes away your ability to cancel a bid and continue as normal. This really pisses me off too Mark
  4. I currently have 2 policies, one with Sky and the other with Elephant. I did get a quote from Sky based on the mirroring policy but it was still more expensive than Elephant. If you are just having a cheap runaround and arent bothered by things such as having modifications insured (which will be 99% of people on there cheap runarounds) then I would try Elephant. Mark
  5. Does anyone know what exhaust that is? Thanks Mark
  6. As the title suggests I have just been informed by Jurgen that I have a TT I have one picture at the moment but I will post more when I get them. I can't stop grinning at the moment ,just got to wait 10 weeks which is going to seem like ages I have been informed that it is totally immaculate Oh and Vicki just found out that my budget jumped up slightly and she took it very well Well I am just going to start telling everyone that I have a TT p.s thanks Jurgen Mark
  7. This thread has restored my love of Google Earth (I know im a saddo). Just spent half an hour on the phone to my brother trying to decide between us if this 64 34 53.41 N 39 48 50.67 E is a Typhoon class submarine (biggest Sub ever and as seen in the Hunt for Red October). I think it is you know, not that anyone else will really care Mark
  8. 36 48 53 N 76 17 50 W A Nimitz class aircraft carrier in Norfolk naval base in Virginia. Cool
  9. Hmmm tempting, very good price Thanks Martin Mark
  10. Yep, its just weird that it was such a busy place and now it is just devoid of all life.
  11. This is quite an eerie one 51 23 0 N 30 6 0 E Mark
  12. Oh congratulations matey Thanks for your reply's so far. Mark

  14. I am just wondering how much it usually costs to buy, spray and fit all of the following items: side skirts, bumper and rear spats. They will most likely be replicas. I am trying to decide whether to get a near standard TT or say Steve Singles and then put all of these items on afterwards. Or whether to just spend the extra money on say something like the Whifbitz white Supra that’s coming in which has most of this already to my taste. So if people can give there opinions and costs based on previous experience/s that would be great. Depending on the car the difference between a near standard TT and the Whifbitz one could be up between £2500 and £3000. Thanks Mark
  15. Hi, Thanks very much mate. Would you be able to send me some pictures, list of modifications and the sort of price you will be looking for? If its nice and in my price range I might be tempted to wait for it, but if it isnt even in my price range then at least I can get it out of my mind at the start. Thanks Mark
  16. Okey dokey then but if he starts causing trouble then im passing him to you to look after Just thought I need to decide what im doing with springs. Are you still wanting them???
  17. LOL Yep will definately be there on Sunday. Debating whether to take my son though as on one hand we will be all excited to see Supra's and Skylines but on the other hand this will only last so long before he wants to go home. Damn it I dont know what to do. I would feel kind of mean depriving him of this day out but we will see. Mark
  18. I like the bomb testing one but always liked this one as it is such an astoundingly large man made project. 25 06 44.07 N 55 07 54.10 E If you zoom out you can also see the other ones that they are building Mark
  19. It is a very good program. I am looking forward to the next series thats for sure. It is completely different though..... Boomer is now a girl, as is Star Buck. Mark
  20. Thanks so far people. I do actually quite like both of them. I have already spoke to Steve and might go and see his next week if its still for sale. The only thing that puts me off is the fact that I will want to put a body kit and new wheels on both of these which will undoubtedly cost a small fortune. When I could just spend slightly more and buy one with these already on. Hmm decisions decisions I will keep looking and my take a look at one / or both of these next week as I have the week off. Thanks Mark
  21. OK, it seems im not getting too far looking for a TT at the moment. I just missed out on one at auction with Jurgen the other night, but hay ho. So as the title suggests I am looking for a TT manual (preferably 6 speed). Let me know if you have one for sale. Thanks Mark
