  1. SOUNDS right.... the tyre would 'BALLOON' slightly as it's spinning-up ??? so would emphasise the CENTRE of the tread !!
  2. Goin to look now... never heard of a STATED tyre wear ?? Brill if they DO, it means i can get SOME idea with the new ones !!!
  3. I suppose 5,000 miles isn't TOO bad ??? But, neither Carole or me have done ANY burnouts/donuts or even ECLAIRS ! ! We both drive fairly calmly really:baby: I never really did HIGH mileage in the TT so never got the 'feel' for tyre wear. IF someone tells me Toyos are fairly soft and 5,000 is a fair mileage then so be it. I'd PREFER ~10,000 if we're driving reasonably, but, don't want DANGEROUSLY hard tyres ! ! ! Khumos / Falkens / some Pirellis seem cheap ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
  4. What do you mean ? How much HAVE they worn or how much SHOULD they have worn ? They've done ~5,000 miles from fitting. Haven't a CLUE about how they SHOULD wear, that's what i was hopin' someone would know ??? ALTHOUGH i believe the T1-Rs are relatively new.... maybe they took a step BACKWARDS with the new tyre ? Maybe the OLD design (T1-S ??) was 'better' ??????
  5. NO. They always wear inside edges first like that, AND, nearside tyre more. it's the way the camber is set up on larger/more powerful RWD's and the road camber always makes the nearside wear worse (more unevenly) IF the tyres were set up to WEAR evenly across the tread they WOULDN'T grip properly (when cornering etc). The whole car was 4-wheel lazer aligned when they went on anyway ! ! !
  6. Funny how mileage creeps up on you !! Since fitting the new wheels and tyres I've been debating whether to change the rears for slightly wider tyres to protect the rims better !! I kept thinking "have to wait till they wear out" OR "get 'em changed and keep the others in the garage as spares". Don't know WHY but while out shopping today decided to just pop me head under the back and see IF i could see the tread wearing 'evenly' yet, in case i'd made a poor choice of tyre pressures ??? AARRGGGHHHHHHHH . . . . WHAT tread ?!?!?!? As you can see from the pics below, i was SHOCKED to find the tread was NO MORE ! At first i couldn't believe it...even blamed Carole's son for doing Burn-Outs or Donuts without me knowing WHEN we thought about the DATE i got 'em done and we worked out a rough MILEAGE it turns out it was ~4 1/2 months and ~5,000 miles !!!!! They are (.....WERE !) Toyo T1-R's, the newer ones, supposed to be REALLY good. Never found 'em VERY sticky to be honest and since ~January they've been getting skittish when cold and not 'perfect' even after warmed up. . . . can see WHY now ! ! SOOOO, gotta get 2 new rears this week, they WERE 275/35-18s but i want either 285/35-18s , 285/40-18s , or 295/35-18s. ????????? don't care about ride height (higher the BETTER !) don't care about speedo (bigger diameter the TRUEr the speedo anyway) all i care about is Wheel Arch / Mileage / SAFE / PRICE ( ) Any views/experience-of-size etc ?????????? FatS (and...a HORRIFIED Carole !!!!!!!)
  7. I quite like it in a FLASH sort of way. BUT, not the Spark Plug Cover bit. AND, i'd leave the racing stripe OFF, or, continue it over the front spoiler/bumper ? ? ?
  8. i reckon it's more FASHIONABLE anyway . . . . . . . . ."Red-with-a-hint-of-Barbie-flavour" ? ? ? [only jokin mate, STILL looks Red to me ]
  9. Never had a complaint from neighbours.....YET ! BUT, even i feel ashamed startin' up early in the morning ( i try to put the baffle in if i'm leavin' early, it doesn't quieten it right down but when it first Cold-Starts and runs at 2,000 for ~2 minutes it takes that DEEP RUMBLE out of the equation !! I also try to trickle HOME if it's >11pm-ish, not ultra quiet, just keep revs nice and low. I'm not worried about complaints it's the CAR i'm worried about !?!?!? If someone annoyed the F*&K out out of ME with their car and wouldn't listen to honest complaints....then................. "Don't SH*T on yer own doorstep" ? ? ? FatS.
  10. HURPY BIFFDY matie ! ! ! Hope ya get Jelly & IceCream ! ! !
  11. " NOT tonight Josephine ! ! ! " Too bloody late to go 'torching' it
  12. Yes mate, the SAME bit on the TT pic TOO ! ! But on the TT the standard intake is obviously removed, The ROUND big bit is the same. you sure it's THAT that's stopping it ?? seems unlikely ?
  13. D'ya mean THIS bit of shroud ? the large round bit actually covering the fan blades ?? believe that's same on both ?? no reason why that bit would be different, or do you mean the metal shield by the horn further forward, STILL think that bits the same too ??
  14. i think THAT's obviously the idea behind the 'optimistic' bit...... if you THINK you're doing 100 when you're only doin' ~90, then...............
  15. Has Clarkson ever driven one......comfortably ! ! I ask from the 6ft plus point-of-view {STILL, it says the roof panel is removable, i used to be able to drive the old Fiat X19 if i looked OVER the screen }
  16. ALL speedos read OPTIMISTICALLY. AND the Soop reads more optimistically than most ! ! and as it gets higher, so, it gets proportionally high. Sounds perfectly right to me.
  17. Now you come to mention it, i've seen SEVERAL in the past month round work (Dagenham !) perhaps all the EX-Ford employees got a bigger settlement than they're lettin' on ???? [seriously though, NOT the most exclusive car !? strange really]
  18. [ all this fuss cos he's had some tart with POINTY high-heels spreadeagled on his bonnet ! ! ! ]
  19. it MIGHT be very hilly where he lives you know !
  20. YES, i'm pretty sure you have the right to claim against either the COUNCIL or the GRITTING FIRM. Carol's daughter works for McAlpine and they have the local Road Gritting contract at present. They had to use SMALLER SIZE salt/grit this year because the Council had to settle too many claims for damage LAST year.............. (or THEY did, i'll try to find out which for ya' ) FatS. ps. probably have to state where/when etc etc so make sure to note down everything so you get it right later !!
  21. MATE ! I'd never diss it ! At 2am on a Saturday night, or, 5o'clock Sunday morning i ALWAYS wish i had a standard back on ! ! ! (THEN is the only time the NUR makes me cringe )
  22. VERY nice ! ! I DO prefer it if the seats look...errr...MATCHED rather than Boy-Racer know what i mean ?? NOT a fan of Bright-Blue / Scarlet etc (just a personal preference mind you) THOSE look like they could have come with the Soop as new ! ! NICE. AND......CHEAP ! ! (always a bonus)
  23. AS that looks fairly standard zorst-wise i'd have to say THAT ! You have to be fair to all the NON-Soop owners and let them hear that SIX-SHOOTER properly mate
  24. Steve W

    Exhaust???

Have a "turbo" NURspec on our N/A.... fits exactly the same (mounts/clearance everything).... not sure if there IS an N/A NURspec ?? there MAY be one with a bigger/different resonance 'bomb' in it ?? .....cos ours is BL**DY loud on the N/A (much louder than on the TT !) ? ? ? ? ? ? ? FatS.
