Bobbeh ....don't know what he looked like. You don't think our solicitors were going to let me go to court do you? I really cannot keep my mouth shut and all it would have needed if we had lost is some self satisfied, smug .thicko of a copper telling me how much it had cost me ......WW3 . I wrote to the DVLA a covering letter that an alleged serious motoring offence had been committed and that the police had given the registration number of a vehicle in support of their case. I asked would it be possible, after reading the contents of my letter to the vehicle owner ,to pass it on. I took a chance that the vehicle owner would respond. He did. The place for the police is in fighting CRIME. Not the crimes of exceeding limits or breaking rules imposed by people whose long term aim is to control. ( I have been accused by some of being a conspiracy theorist in regard of motoring offences. Unfortunately I have to work which stops me expanding on the theme.) Suffice for me to say the training we all receive IS in little things like complying with minor traffic rules.....enthusiastically enforced by the representatives of the state. The police. And their cameras. True crime .....murders ...rape...etc are ,I am sure, investigated with rigour. Thats the reason a lot of people join the force. To make a difference. Unfortunately the middle ranking crimes.....muggings ...robberies... scams do not attract headlines in relation the labour required to solve them so......the police do not have enough "resources". Suggestion Back off the revenue grabbing exercise of fleecing the captive audience called motorists and concentrate on what the majority of the public would like them to do. Catch the little scum bags that makes owning a Supra a nightmare to leave anywhere. Catch the scumbag who broke into the factory and stole the kiddies money box......."Mr Salmon....do you have any idea who done this? ex employee for instance?" "Yes ....officer we know exactly who done this do you want his address?" "Yes please" said the enthusiastic young officer . Nothing happened.....nothing. By contrast... I have another court case outstanding regarding an alleged speeding offence. It has now been distilled down to the offence of not providing the police with the name and address of the driver of the vehicle at the time of the alleged offence. I could be fined up to £1000. Its been rumbling for just over a year so far. Next tround is in March 07. I will keep the board informed and will when I have time post the letter sent to the authorities which ,I think, may not have endeared me to them. Face piles of trials with smiles, It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave, Keep on thinking free. (Moody Blues) Peter

As followers of my posts will know I have an apparently irrational hatred of the Police. In my humble opinion many members of the force are none too bright. They have a tendancy to elevate themselves to a position where the law applies to the members of the public but not to themselves because they are "special"....they are"trained".mmmmm The well documented police driver who can travel in a 30 at 82 and out to a 156 high speed run springs to mind. Last year the company driver Paul was issued with a fixed penalty notice for overtaking on a pedestrian crossing. Paul legally turned right after the zebra crossing. I asked Paul if the incident had occurred. He said it did not. I said if he wanted to contest it I would support him all the way including any appeals. I said I could not do anything about points but I would pay any fine above the fixed penalty notice. I then told Paul that the police "statement of events" would be so extreme it would be hilarious. It proved to be a gem. What the police do not understand is they are dealing with real people with real lives where 3 penalty points could be a problem. It is not a game. Paul was preparing to sell his car in case his insurance became too much. As it happens Paul is not like Darren and myself. He has worked here since he was 17. He is coming on 28. In that time he has NEVER been stopped for any offence ....ever. He has no convictions...no accidents....Paul does NOT take risks. According to the specially trained police motorcyclist Paul travelled North on a southbound carriage way, during a London rush hour, with a pedestrian "avoiding" a collision with the vehicle in question.mmmmmm Indeed so clear was thicko 1s recollection of the events he even remembered the registration number of the vehicle Paul is alleged to have overtaken. He quoted it on the "statement of facts". Nice try from the thicko but he really should tried to think it through. If he really must create a web of lies to cover his incorrectly issued fixed penalty notice he should make make sure it makes sense. At the first court appearance Paul was extremely satisfied to see thicko start sweating. We had a Barrister.....photos.....measurements.....and thickos "witness" in denial. We had written to the DVLA and had a letter passed on to the driver of the vehicle. Kindly the gentleman wrote to us with the information that he would have been in the area 20 minutes later. Thicko sweated more. Thickos sidekick , thicko 2,ran around the court creating another statement which ,unfortunately ,did'nt quite tally with thicko 1s statement. They had an adjournment. To cut a long story short it is physically impossible for the vehicle to perform the manouvre as described by the specially trained thicko. The "witness" vehicle would have been in the area at the time the thicko was writing up his notes and would have been needing a suitable size vehicle for Paul to have "passed". And lastly ...but not leastly....thicko expected the court to believe that a dyxlexic (I HOPE I have spelt that right!!!) specially trained thicko could REMEMBER a registration number whilst riding a motorcycle in heavy traffic. When thickos statement was being read in court the bench shook their heads in disbelief. They did not see the spelling and the words spelt backwards. They just heard the English. Why was it being read out in court? You didn't expect thicko 1 and 2 to appear in person to be shredded did you. Thick and cowardly. We won £1100 costs. The moral of this story is DO NOT LET THE BASTARDS GRIND YOU DOWN. My hatred is not as irrational as it seems.

Well done Charlotte. My house move fallen through.......gazumped!!!

Phoenix....Garrett has a new telephone number. Don't ask it was on a scrap of paper somewhere... Peter
-
Things are not going well on the rebuilding front. Got hold of Garrett the polisher but alas he has let me down and not collected the parts. Have not been able to get hold of the metalworker to make the harness holders and the bonnet catches. Darren has been at home but unfortunately one of his little ones has been unwell and he has been babysitting and lastly...... We have so much work on that I have had to stop taking any more for a few weeks and Darren will have to come back to work. There is really no way of making it to the 8th October meeting. The competition will roll over until we are together and running. I am not a happy man........but I keep telling myself it WILL be worth it...... Peter

information appreciated Paul. Have e-mailed to Darren

I don't have a doctor Charlotte, I am fit and healthy and stress free......... My life is wonderful........I have no problems.......I live in a world of illusions........"keep taking the pills Mr.Salmon"

must keep taking the pills

Dangerous Brain, Would appreciate greatly if you could pop in and see him and tell his favourite Uncle wishes to have his bling polished......now! Please also let him know that I will not be replacing my dangling fluffy dice with anything of his that dangles. Charlottes comment about SOME people getting stressed by a move was in my opinion a movist comment. I am not getting stressed. Nothing stresses me. I have moved beyond stress. Occasioinally , just occasionally......I may raise my voice to make a point but it has nothing to do with bloody stress right! I don't know how this inane thread started about stress because as an older person I can handle all of lifes little difficulties.....sure I may scream at some incompetant but that has absoloutely nothing to do with f*****g stress OK? I need to take my pills

Gaz ..... When I get hold of him he won't have any spare time. If you think I don't brook no nonsense from those I don't know it is as nothing to the earache Garrett will get ...... ....but I suspect that is why the 'phone calls are not returned. For reasons I won't bore you with my Sister had a strange choice of names for all three of her sons. Garrett...Jacey and Skip. Peter

Overwhelmed by work....have had to stop taking in more.... Garrett ....my Nephew....the polisher...disappeared ( well will not answer 'phone) with some of my Supra bits and no-one to bling me shinies (To use "young" vernacular...think Ali G) Have still got to get some fabrication done.... Darren still on holiday and when he comes back he has to get the car ready for the 8th October so cannot be at work. The new computer system is working but wants a few mods.... Enough aggro and stress to make a grown man cry........ and into this scenario ? well the offer I made on a property in Dobbs Weir has been accepted as long as I move soon. Like I can move with so much going on.....anyway its all going ahead.......I have lived in the same house for 15 years...... moving is going to be a culture shock....... OMG what have I done!!!!!

I gave up smoking after 23 years of Marlboro full fats. Occasionally.....just occasionally....I still fancy one....and then dismiss it and get on with trying to keep the weight I put on after stopping down to a reasonable level. I have a great deal of sympathy for those addicted to cigarettes. It is appallingly difficult for the average smoker to give up. There is always the person who "just stopped...no problem" but for the ordinary addicted mortal the very act of trying to give up can take years before it seems like a good idea. it can be a good idea for just a few days and a major attempt may and often does end in failure. It can takes months or even years before the window of opportunity to give up comes up again. It is an addiction. I have no patience with those who have no patience with smokers. For my part I apologised to most of the people I subjected to my "clouds" after I was certain I had given up. (its always touch and go!!!!) It IS easier to give up when those surrounding you do not smoke. It IS easier to give up now it is ,generally, socially unacceptable. Easier , however is relative. It is still hard to stop smoking. The ash from a cigarette is not going to make one whit of difference to the enviroment. If this driver has been fined for ash then as another poster said another damming example of the nanny state. If it is a cigarette butt then I must concur with the state. As I understand it they are not easily bio-degradable and should be got rid of responsibly. ( How long do they last in the garden!!) As for you smokers ....don't you just hate the smug bastards whose body has its genes arranged in such a way that it has never felt the need to smoke or has tried and rejected the sensation.......and even worse are the even smuuger bastards who have managed to overcome their addiction. Oh to be perfect!!!

Competition No1 and No2 (in two parts) for money

Seems sensible to me..... -
I was taught to drive by a Class One police driver. I have also had a considerable amount of driver training in the army.(Part of my job.....collection....collation.....dissemination...) I have driven for many miles at appropriate but illegal speeds. As the officer did not crash at the speed he was travelling at then the speed must have been as safe as the circumstances allowed. If one gets out of bed or even if one does not there is a risk element. I think that if one spends ones time worrying about rabbits running out and midnight cyclists with no lights then you might as well stay in bed and wait for the aeroplane to crash through the roof. If you are in the "right gear, right place , right time" then it is impossible to hit something. If you do hit something then one of the three rights was wrong. Your fault. Much as it pains me to say this but...... "Right Gear, Right Place, Right Time " is from the front cover of the police "Roadcraft" manual my foster brother , the class one police driver who taught me to drive , made me read until I understood it ,sometime in the late 60s. Given my apparently irrational hatred of the police it pains me even more to say......that book and its front page has kept me alive. Touch wood......I have never had an accident of any kind in any four wheel vehicle I have been driving . 36 years. What has this got to do with mr 159? Well I have no doubt he can drive but so can I but I am not going to be allowed to "familiarise" myself with the Supra at those speeds on the public highway. Why should a polce officer be allowed to road test cars on the highway? Absoloutely no reason whatsoever. What the officer did is ,however, what we all do ...go quick when we can and have judged it to be relatively safe to do so. The law , however , applies to all despite the police thinking it does not. The officer should face the same punishment the allegedly untrained general public would face for the offence. a custodial sentence....banning and community service. Have I said how much I dislike the police?

I'll sort you out beer. Beer gives me serious flatulence . Can the gas be harnessed with a hose up my backside for anti lag injection???? Bobbeh....... I think you have a very good chance of taking a win....and a win IS a win.......but.....I could rent Santa Pod or Shakespeare the week before. and practice......and it has crossed my mind....but I don't think I will be able to get away from work but...... I REALLY don't like to lose......I mean its up there with my irrational hatred of the police....... I have lost at table tennis to Darren......after I had a winning streak of some 500 games....I could not speak to him for two days.......someone asked if we could get heat into the tyres....we have linelocks......and the cage to keep the backend straight . Gaz said we had a nine in the car. We think so as well but I don't think we have the skill in driving..,..skill in preparation...nor the knowledge to get it out of the car. Never mind Eh! Peter -

Will do spec during as best as I know it......which won't help much... lets see Veilside.....1200cc injectors...fuel pumps and stuff...4 row.....fans electric....272s....ported head.....billet crank.....crower rods ......pistons of some kind ....hks?.....a 76? turbo......what else is there to say.... As you can see I don't take a great deal of interest in what goes into the car.....Darren just gives me bills and headaches.....its got "stuff". I am sitting here looking at the screen and really there is not a lot to a car engine is there? Steves car sounds really good......but tempting though it is to run race fuel.......not this year.....lets see what can be achieved on pump.
