  1. I'd like to get her to be restored back to her former glory - I know the engine can handle a lot more but I'm after minimal lag and very much a track set up.
  2. Checking her over from the base up - handy work of Lee @ SRD Clutch rebuild - one of the issues with the car when I bought her was the Clutch had gone and this was one of the reasons the ex-owner didnt drive her
  3. Blitz Supra Revival Background: Blitz, of Japan, decided to have a go at the Ultimate racing challenge… the Nürburgring lap time. Their challenge was to break the world record for the fastest time around the ‘Ring’ in a road legal production car, and this is where the story begins. Nürburgring The north loop is 20.8 km (12.9 mi) long and has more than 300 meters (1,000 feet) of elevation change from its lowest to highest points. Jackie Stewart nicknamed the old track "The Green Hell," and it is widely considered to be the most demanding and difficult purpose-built racing circuit in the world. Their target was 7:53 and they managed 7:49 which is staggering even to this day let alone in 1997. There is also evidence of Autocar’s feature of the Supra recording a 7:21 sec 7:21 --- 168.163 km/h -- Blitz Supra, 650 PS (Autocar magazine 1997) http://speed.supercars.net/PitLane?viewThread=y&gID=3&fID=0&tID=10073 (If anyone has the Autocar mag from 1997 i'd love to see it) 7:50 --- 157.787 km/h -- Blitz Supra, 750hp, Herbert Schürg (1997)As per Video Option mags. Note, the track has been resurfaced and flattened several times since then – so it makes the 7:49 & 7:21 even more impressive. The official time, Driver and notes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sport_auto_(Germany) Sports Auto (Germany) Official My Story 2001 - I was a young chap working in a retail store and one Sunday; we closed for the day and were waiting for the Debrief. I went outside for some air and heard a sound of a mean car, this was the first time I saw the Blitz Supra in the flesh (I’d seen the Max power feature before: http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/mpower1.htm ) and to my surprise one of my colleagues said that’s my uncles car, to which no one believed him. So he called him and he turned back to show us the car, I jumped in and was lost for words! Except when I said “I’m gonna buy this car one day!” (Jokingly) She was stored in his garage and only driven a handful of times, if that, for around 8 years. 2009 – After many conversations I bought my Dream car – who’d know the joke I made came true. That’s when I met Lee at SRD. Frist thing I needed to know was if this actually was the car it was supposed to be and had the spec list from the magazines – Lee managed to verify that the engine was the highly modified Race spec that was used for the Ring. 2010 – The project to revive her, to her former glory, began but at the same time, my personal life was changing. I was negotiating a house at the same time and my offer was accepted so had to sell my S14a Drift car and Type R to pay the deposit and buy the house. Few months later my daughter was born – priorities were changing and finances tight. Major house renovation, double glazing, boiler to name but a few – all boring, but important, stuff were taking priority. 2014 – Nov/Dec; Work started again…

  7. wow that was a lot of fun! What a crazy place! The whole town is just car/ bike heaven! Porsche's dominate that place, in numbers! I'll try get some YouTube vids up. Some good races: our boys r8 vs gallardo our r8 vs gt3 (german pro) just too quick 458 vs bike e46 m3 drifting @ around 80mph! Saxo vs Porsche gt3 & winning! Our s2k spinning out but not hitting anything r35 gtr plate Godzilla! Not a single supra?! But What a day have to do that again.
  8. Yup but i'm desperate to be driving. Even considered taking my diesel but with that line up I'd be in France while they begin the lap lol
  9. tbh id need to get used to her before taking to the Ring, especially with the reputation the track has. I mean ive owned and driven a fair few cars but to be able to utilise the full potential of the car, you need to take your time and get used to it I know the GTR is an animal and Jurgen would probably be the best to comment on its performance but id hope Blitz would hold its own. Nope its in very capable hands and I'll get all the pics once its complete. the Gallardo & R8 drivers are both experienced on the Ring so should be interesting to see if the others can give them a run for their money
  10. It's not ready mate wish I could take it & give the lads a run for their money albeit the Ring demands respect. I'm just impressed with the list especially with them all being local lads bar the drifter!
  11. really exited as ive never been to the Nurburgring but sadly though, im a passenger. on the plus point, I will probably swap around the cars...! the cars being: Bmw M3 CSL Porsche Turbo S2000/S14a 400bhp drift car (competition car) bmw 330 R8 Gallardo R35 GTR 600bhp I think the list will grow by the time we go!
