  1. Sorry to hear that rob. Gutted for you
  2. Sorry to drag this old thread up but I feel it is really important for someone who maybe searching to see the result of this. The car has been pulling...REALLY BADLY to the left for a LONG time. (as you can see, since 2009). I have thrown thousands and thousands at it to sort it and never solved the problem. I am embarrased to say (see the first few posts where everyone mentions tyres) that I fitted a new set of front tyres yesterday and the car drives perfectly straight, just like a new car. I am fuming with myself for not checking the basics first, so if you are reading this with an issues check your tyres and not just the pressures. Thanks everyone for your help, shame I didnt listen much back in the day
  3. I wouldn't suggest it would be a worth while exercise as each car is so different. I would need about 12 hoses of random lengths and 4 T pieces. I am just going to get the tape measure out and order away. Happy to order with you if you want to try and get a bulk buy discount. I probably won't do till next year though as I have a gearbox and diff that I want to buy first.
  4. Shit..forgot to do breakdown!!! Just done it though. - Phew!
  5. Shhhh, dont tell him then!
  6. It sounds like something might be coming loose. Always best to check the cheap and easy stuff 1st.
  7. Stiff and allow the passenger seat to touch the door. Over 2K Yes but only on the passenger side.
  8. Fitted my new seats last night and am very pleased with the way they look and the quality is superb! subframes are terrible but that's a side point. I am going to take it up with them and will let you know how I get in. Bought through Paul at Whifbitz and had to be made a delivered in a very short time frame and they arrive a day early. Thanks very much Paul. http://img.tapatalk.com/5284f84e-a187-bfe4.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/5284f850-a198-3afa.jpg
  9. Ok, getting there. New diff - check By pass fuel pump ECU - check Mapping - check Paint front bumper - check New tires - check New number plates - check Boost issue solved - check New seats arrived and fitted - check ( as of 11pm last night) Sat nav - check Clean and polish - mrs taking it to get done today. Fix digital dash so I know speed and fuel etc - not going to happen! All in all, happy with the amount done seeing as it was all done in a few weeks. Next step is to find out what time I have to be where and then come and join the party P.s just seen that we take CB's - added to the list
  10. Nor me. I think it will have been what I suspect was the route of the whole problem. A loose pipe. I have now plumbed the boost controller back in and it is working perfectly! Thank you so much, not only did you both help me fix the car before the dragonball but helped me learn how the wastegates and boost controller works. I can't explain how much I appreciate it. Chris - thank you for this input. I did wonder when I was a halfords in the stick on Corsa crap section if I was better off just buying fuel hose. I will have a google and get it replaced with some decent pipe as you have suggested. Thanks
  11. Did it both ways. 1 with the tops going to atmosphere and 1 with it blocked. With it open it boosted to 1.3 bar. Seems odd as I thought I had a 1 bar spring. Main the being that the boost is under control. Now it's time to start with the boost controller. Just having tyres fitted then will be ready to find out if it is fixed or not. (fingers crossed) If it works then I assume there was a pipe split... If not the the bc it is.
  12. Ok, done as suggested. Just wastegates. Turbo feed to bottom of wastegates. Left the top hoses off and then blocked then off. This didn't seem to make any difference. Boosting to 1.3. Next step is to plumb turbo feed and bottom into the IN of the boost controller and the top of the wastegates to see what happens - with b/c set on 0. I don't know how to turn it off...
  13. Tires and number plates arrived today. Seats due tomorrow. Boost issue nearly sorted...currently ok on low boost. Things are looking up.
  14. Thanks Mellon and Ian. I will do as you have suggested. Yes I do have it the wrong way round according to your previous post. I can't do tonight as weather crap but will plumb with the turbo pressure linked to the bottom of the wastegates and out them to the IN on the boost controller and then the top of the wastegates to the OUT section. If that doesn't work then I will plumb the turbo feed to the bottom of the wastegates and leave the top ones off and boost controller out. Hope I have understood correctly. Want to say thank you again for taking the time to help! Jon
  15. Not bad.... Massive understatement there!!! How many times did you pick your old car up without having issues and did you ever manage mapping session that went smoothly? You sure you want to go single??? You have put a lot into this car, be careful not to end up in the same boat as before! They are wonderful when they are working and even then, they are not great for road use. Sticky tires needed for grip but then you have the wrong tires for drifting...Etc etc
  16. Sorry to hear about your bad luck Rob - thanks for thinking of others and bringing tools, I normally bring a set but maybe I don't need to? Mine has started to improve again, currently running ok on low boost. Added breakdown cover to the to do list though

  18. Hi Ian, thanks for taking the time to help with this. Since my last post, I have replaced all the boost pipes and cable tied the all on so I could ensure there are no boost leaks. I then plumbed the top of wastegate pipes into the IN section of the boost controller and the bottom pipes (including the feed from the intercooler pipe) to the OUT part of the boost controller. This now seems to be kind of working. With the boost controller on 0 - I am hitting 0.9 bar but when I start to turn up (currently 1.27) I am still hitting 1.5 bar and if I set higher than 1.27 then it climbs higher and hits boost cut at 1.7. So to confirm, my understanding from your post would be that the top of the wastegates (yes 2 btw) would go to the out section of the boost controller and the bottom (including the feed from the intercooler pipe) should go to the IN section? Or would it be easier to do as you have suggested to unplumb (liking my newly invented word there) the top feed and go from there? Pic to follow in next post, although it is difficult to see the OUT is the one closest to the IC pipe.
  19. Do we have access to the route itinerary yet? Trying to get bens nav setup.
  20. It's plumbed in. I does all sound normal as the boost starts to build though but the boost just doesn't stop climbing and very quickly hits cut.
  21. Yes, driven like that last picture and the problem is still the same. Just been to halfords and bought a load of boost pipe to change the pipes. Seems silly as the pipes are fine but I don't know what else to do
