  1. Can you be more specific about what you mean by "quicker"?
  2. 8am today (Wednesday), ladymead, P***FTT. Looking Good!
  3. Exactly. And all our money (and the Israeli money for Better World) will go to a nice American (and/or Israeli) battery manufacturer and power generator rather than a middle-eastern oil company (thus also removing all that need for an expensive military campaign and media cover-up!)
  4. You're referring to global warming/ecological stuff I take it? Yeah - you might be right - but I don't believe that ever had anything to do with it anyway - and it doesn't have anything to do with electric cars either.... It's all about the money. The government (and the associated large industry players) would LOVE to move away from oil reliance, purely to save money (and make more $$$$ in profits). The environment thing is just a way of making it palatable for us sheep!!!
  5. No - I was referring to the fact that trying to harness wind to generate power is an awful idea. The manufacturing process alone for the windmills uses up energy which takes something like 8 years of consistent and faultless use to recuperate. Wind power and wind farming is a huge scam just designed to line the pockets of big industry powers and the politicians' backhanders that have helped push it all through.....
  6. ....or at least it would if the carbon footprint for wind power was really zero, and not the horrific waste of energy and effort that it is. Tidal and nuclear power FTW!
  7. Be careful when you're cranking one off!
  8. I'd give my right arm to eradicate literal pedantry from the internet. :nana: :nana: :nana:
  9. My previous car was a '95 328i. It went up in flames at about 80k miles. Insurance money paid for the Supra, so good news all round! Nice car to drive, though - it was a good choice for my 1st RWD in retrospect - decent handling with enough power to be fun, but not enough to be dangerous. Not much between a 328i and an N/A MkIV, IMO.
  10. Hehe. Independent music died long before Oasis (I think their first album was pretty good, btw) showed up. The major labels started pouncing on all the alternative music in the late 80's, and that's when it all went to cr*p. When "alternative" music isn't alternative any more, what do you do?! Not saying that I didn't love some of the early 90's indie-pop that it spawned - much of my favourite music is from that scene, but the true "independents" eventually died a final death when Factory closed in 1992 (Tony Wilson RIP). .....that said....... I think there's some really good stuff cropping up in the last 2 or 3 years. The internet, and sites like myspace have really started helping some really experimental artists get their music distributed. It's worth spending some time having a scour about on t'interweb if you're looking for something new to listen to....

Hi Jimbob. How's Fruitbat? Looking forward to the Brixton gig!
  13. Can anyone who says they wouldn't eat lion meat explain a specific reason why, or is it just an instinctive feeling? I don't think I'd have a problem eating lion. Then again, like Ark, I probably wouldn't have a problem eating most things. I find saying things like "I would eat chicken, but eating dog is wrong", for example seems quite hypocritical. Obviously, endangered species and factors like that are good reasons, but I'm guessing the species of lions that they're referring to aren't endangered (yet?).
  14. Some good stuff here: http://www.alternativemeats.co.uk/ye4afY22378/The-Safari-Collection/c-1-40/ Impala, Kangaroo, Kudu, Ostrich, Springbok, Bison, Blesbok, Camel, Crocodile.....
  15. I'm a big fan of alcohol-free beer! It's all about the calories!!! Typical pint of beer is 175-200kCal Typical pint of lager is 200-250kCal Typical pint of fruit juice/J2O, etc. is 200-250kCal Typical pint of alcohol-free beer...... .............50-100kCal The only alternatives if you want fluid refreshment are diet soft drinks or water at that level.
  16. Tesco (my local one anyhow) does an alcohol-free (it's actually 0.2% or something) Weissbeir which is pretty good. Don't touch the "Bavaria" stuff. It's nasty.
  17. Mark @ Phoenix is the absolute best. Unfortunately - he won't be cheap as you'll need to get the car shipped to Oz and back for the work now he's shut up shop over here
  18. No - the door kicked in is not funny at all. He should certainly be compensated for it. Demanding a written apology for a message left on a fridge is just plain daft, tho'. What's he going to do? Frame it and hang it?
  19. Hahahahaha. He demands a written apology for their childishness. He's probably going to hold his breath and stamp his feet until he gets one too! (should be compensated for the door, tho'!)
  20. .....or help with the on-the-game income!
  21. Was just poking fun, really - don't want to go off topic! I'm sure we'd all rather be dead than have a hook in our mouths for a few minutes, after all!
  22. I take it you don't eat fish, then?
  23. I take it you didn't see the last question time before the London mayoral elections? When questioned about the ever-inflating budget for the uK olympics, Ken Livingstone straight out admitted that it was because he had been spending the money on "other projects to regenerate London" rather than those just driven by the Olympics. He agreed when told that he had basically duped the government out of money to spend on London. Not good when your voters are the people who have been paying all the extra taxation to pay for the "Olympics"!!!
  24. Out of interest, what are the bank charges FOR, then, if you don't mind me asking?
